Any OC on that 7600k?

yeah it's at 4.5ghz I put it in the pic
runs decently cool (30ish idle, peaked at 65 in doom, usually in the 50s in games) with a be quiet pure rock

Tried higher than 4.5? Seems like most of those should hit atleast 4.8 easy.

I could try but right now I'm fine with what I have, my work requires a bit of single core power and a decently high clock but 4.5 is more than enough, I'll push it a little further if I need to though, I didn't feel like bothering with it for too long, I just used my mobo's OC presets, set the voltage a little higher since it really didn't seem very high to me, and it's stable so meh
managed to process a 10 000 pages file in SDL Trados in just a few minutes so I'm good in that regard

Well that is all that counts in the end i guess!

you got me curious so I tried pushing it to 4.8 anyway, I'll run some games and see how that goes

hwinfo has a little too much info. Wish you could make it a little cleaner, being able to pick and choose what you want to display in system summary

Looks good desu, maybe a cpu upgrade might come in handy, as in more threads since single core doesn't seem to have a notorious improvement since 4th gen. What cpu are you planning to get?

Do report back!

Holy fuck man, that's a big rig. How does it handle games at 4k?

Attached: 1563049598504.png (708x514, 769K)

60fps all day every day. All i need with the LG Oled it is hooked up to.

How's that 780Ti hanging in the modern era man?

What ever the highest performance mainstream option is at the time. I imagine it will be Zen 3 considering the shit storm Intel has landed itself in.

However, as you said, single core improvements in the last half decade have been laughable so I'm in no rush.

Dude you have a dream setup, i would buy that if i could afford it, i guess that's as good as it gets for gaming. I once played GTA V at 4k in a punny RX 480 at 30fps barely and damn the game looked fucking awesome, imagine playing that at 60 at all times, simply phenomenal, what's your opinion on raytracing tho?

it's pretty good, definitely showing its age though. for reference i get around 45-50fps 1080p on high settings in MHW.
i'm waiting for the custom rx5700 cards to come out before upgrading.

That's a wiseman opinion, i would suggest if you had the urge for more threads to get an i7 4770k in the meanwhile i hear that they still handle pretty decent and i think they are being sold for peanuts nowadays..

About 30-40 fps in quake 2 RTX in 4k. Only title i have even tried with rtx so far. Metro being only on epic and all!

How much time did you had it for?, yeah I've heard that Kepler was a bit left behind in the optimization area, the RX 5700 looks appealing they only issue i have with AMD is that they cannot force vsync through the radeon settings for a lot of new games, some saying that it onlyt works on Open GL games, Nvidia on the otherside it's great for games that have a terrible vsync implementation like Dead Space that caps the fps at 30 with their vsync option enabled.

I can get 4.6 all cores, but it seems that I'm only getting 4.8 on one core
temps are perfectly fine
(and yeah I know baguette frog mimes etc)
I'm not very knowledgeable on OC besides the very basics, so if anyone knows if it's my CPU or of there's something I could do, I'll try with another game that might be a little more cpu intensive

Attached: overclock.png (3200x1080, 1.11M)

yeah its not really necessary. There has only really been one time this year I would have benefited from more cores (wireless network simulations in simulink for an assignment).

If I can get 9900k single core performance for around £300 then I'd be more than happy with that.

That's nice my dude, i hope they manage to implement Raytracing at a lower processing cost so the RTX 2060 makes more sense, right now it seems like the 2080 and 2080Ti are the only ones that can handle Raytracing at a good pace.

Just changing the multiplier in bios and sync all core should get you 4,8 on all.

That sounds good besides the feeling of relief is gonna be way bigger if you wait to get a higher leap from that CPU.

Based gamer wombo combo.

Yep. I think if I didn't get my RAM upgraded to 16gb free i'd probably have moved on by now.

Kingston's lifetime warranty is pretty true to its name.

Oh you got the x3470, nice!
Any oc yet?

I actually just updated my rig a bit from pic related, something became unstable out of nowhere.. I didn't bother wasting time trying to find out exactly what, that stuff is so old it could be anything.

Haven't dug up speccy yet, but now I run:
-Xeon E3-1230 3.2ghz (runs on 3.6ghz turbo all cores)
-H61 oem board from some hp pc
-16gb
-Gtx1060 6gb still, gets hot as FUCK on that piece of shit stock cooler, throttles like a bitch.
-Evga supernova 650w g3

I lost some performance, but it does the job until I can afford something new. It is nice how little heat the new one generates compared to the oc'd hexa, when I get a new rig I'll probably just leave it stock and get it as silent as possible.

Attached: spcy.jpg (652x419, 71K)

I hope it holds true, i am planning on getting an extra 16gb now that they are cheap as horse meat and i think i am set for life, i am driving a 900p monitor and it handles like a dream, i am planning to get an upgrade in the foreseeable future, but for now i am really comfy with it, besides if that asteroid hit us that will no longer be a problem, what comes after we die will be.

To each it's own. Also nice blast from the past m8.

yup that worked
that being said at 4.8 temps felt a bit too high for my liking
I'm at 4.6 1.305v, I could try lowering the voltage a bit maybe

What temps are you getting and with what cooler mr bonjourno?

Attached: murasame 1screen v7.png (992x785, 162K)

Nice build dude, what are you using all that compute power for?

Speccy causes computers to lock up when I try it.

What tv/monitor is that?

both in DOOM 2016
@4.6, around 55-60c
@4.8, 65-75c, nothing too alarming buuut the room temperature is rather low since it's nighttime, and we're getting some serious heat in europe right now

Those temps are a bit high, i imagine they blast to 90c when you stress test it, but i also think that CPU overclocking does little to not much on most games.

i've had it since 2015 or so, a friend of mine gave it to me for free to upgrade my HD6850. (he was getting whatever titan was popular at that time)

Good grief man, at least you aren't getting any stutters even with a gorillion tabs open i suppose.

What a nice friend man, maybe he's your best friend? not much regular friends would gift something expensive like a GPU.

I admittedly don't do stress tests, I just launch games and see if shit hits the fan
I could try to see how things go by running my million-words file through SDL trados again I guess, for a non-game real world application

27 Inches and 4k will never make sense for me. HDR, FALD and so on, still the size of the panel is lacking!

Well that's a faster method but a bit unreliable, but i guess to each it's own, if it works for you it's fine, are planning to upgrade?

For me its
20 inches for 900p
25-29 for 1080p
30-39 for 1440p
40-50 for 2160p

currently not, maybe when ryzen 4000/intel 10nm comes out, this rig is just one year old so I'll wait a little longer
1060 is plenty for 1080p75, I'll have to see how it holds up in Biomutant and other AAA games I might be interested in

also, laptop is;
i5 7300HQ
16gb
gtx 1060 3gb
250gb ssd
1tb hdd

Attached: 34.png (545x376, 26K)

Same mostly but i can stretch to 55" for 2160p.

Yeah i think that res can go as high as 75 inches without losing image clarity/quality/non distortioned images.

It really depends on the viewing distance in the end i guess, but around 55-60" is where i would call 4k crisp and nice looking.
Push it back to home cinema settings you can blow it up how far you can move the seats back i guess.

it's shit, I can't keep it stable at 4GHz no matter the voltages I put in, maybe I lost the lottery

Attached: file.png (401x401, 49K)

What memory controller voltage you have it at? Could also be the mobo not hacking it, its old and lowend.

My x3470 did 4.2ghz on water, but needed 1.45vcore and 1.4vtt (memory controller), and those old 45nm chips generated alot of heat. This was on a pretty solid P55 board aswell..

Is this shit? What can I use this pc for? What can I not do with it?

Really I just use it for torrenting. Just now getting into other Jow Forums related stuff, about to put a linux OS ( not sure which one) on an old shitty comp and move all my torrents over there.

Sorry forgot picture.

Attached: myspecs.png (767x593, 47K)

I've already tried 1.4v on the IMC and 1.5v on CPU and nothing, strangest thing is that I had an x3440 on that mobo at 4.1GHz 1.4v vCore and 1.32v IMC

Gaymen laptop fag here.

I re-pasted my CPU and GPU today. Fucked around with some voltage and power settings in XTU and managed to improve my Cinebench 15 score by almost 30% over the stock settings. It's scoring the same as a 12c/24t Xeon X5650. Not bad gains for a locked CPU.

>father abandonment issues

Planning to upgrade to 3900x when it's available.

Attached: sup.png (640x577, 70K)

Oh damn, why the x3470 then? Its almost never worth getting a higher model of the same series in my opinion.

Could be the cpu is just poor, but can easily be the mobo or psu just wearing out.

Anyway the performance gain from 3.8ghz to 4.2ghz isn't exactly mind blowing.

I took a look at the new amd stuff, looks promising. A b450 and a r5 3600 with 16gb isn't that bad at all, probably wrecks the x5660 @ 4.4ghz even at stock, with a fraction of the heat output. Probably what I'll go for.

Time for another winfag dick measuring contest, must be summer.
gaymerfag

Yeah next upgrade I will be doing is obviously ryzen, probably a R5 1600 for really cheap.
Right now I'm going to buy an RX 570

This is a laptop.
