Mechanical Keyboard General

I didn't see one and I don't have a fancy body in this post, but talk about them here.

You're supposed to put /mkg/ in the title so people can ctrl+f for it in the catalog

Are there any tenkeyless keyboards with hot-swappable switches other than the Massdrop CRTL or GMMK TKL?

Why is this allowed

Teamwolf Zhuque.

What the fuck are those everglide switches on assdrop right now

Three different weights of linear and a tactile switch. The latter being another cherry clear clone.

This sounds like a trap

How much did you guys pay for your keyboards? I got a k60 for 30$ usd total.

I've got an Assdrop CTRL I bought barebones, I use zealios, and with keycaps the cost would probably be at least $250

blues maybe

any, exposed switch looks nice, not a must
>Backlight
full RGB preferred with stock keycaps that have translucent/transparent legends so the light shines through (or a recommendation for caps if the stock model doesnt have these)
>Previous/current keyboards

who's gonna get one?

I just wish tex would start selling ADA caps in PBT dyesub already to be honest.

Get yourself a Leopold. First and last mech you'll need. You can get one for $120 most places, and under $150 anywhere on Amazon. If you're willing to shell out a bit, you can get a Topre for around $250. If you really want RGB, Ducky is the only choice to consider. Exposed switches are prone to disaster. One speck of debris, one spill, and you're looking for a new keyboard.

$200-$300

Browns, though I'd like to try Topre
>Previous Keyboards
Leopold FC980M, Das Keyboard, Filco Majestouch 2.

Hated the Das. Felt cheap and was prone to fingerprints. New keycaps didn't help the shell or the backplate. Had constant pinging. Filco and Leopold were great. Would prefer that quality.

Ducky, One 2 or Shine 7 if you want a metal case

your keyboard is upside-down

corsair k70

What's the closest keyboard to a Model F?

One of them new Model F reproductions

f62pe

what's the cheapest mechanical keyboard under 30$?

Some old alps, or whatever other switch, board you get lucky & find at a recycling center for $2.

what are some cheapos with gateron blacks?

SHOULD I ORDER JADES OR NAVIES FOR MY HOTSWAP GMK

GMMK*

Get navies to be honest familia.

Model F is the best keyboard ever fucking conceived. Whatever trash you want to consume otherwise.

I'm currently planning to get a Ducky One 2 with Browns. I don't want it to be overly loud and when I tried them out in a store browns seemed decent, though it was hard to tell what I would like with sustained use. I would get a Leopold FC900R, but here in Canada it's $70 more expensive with shipping and the recommendations I've read say it's only slightly superior build quality to the Ducky. Is there anything else I should consider first?

are das keyboard still worth getting? i have my eyes on the model s

Consider silent reds too if you want quietness and don't mind linears.

Here, have this.

No need to pay me back,. it's on me.

Very cute user. Wish I wasn't allergic to cats.

Cute cat. Also what caps are those?

I want dis one. Fuck the SSK I finally found something compatible and not that expensive within my preferences

Would suck 10 nigger dicks to get my hands on one of those

Is there a damped, silent mechanical switch that operates like mx browns with minimal tactility? Tried topre, they suck

p-please respond

What keyboard is that

Like Gateron silent browns or Aliaz? Topre definitely doesn't align with minimal tactility, but they aren't bad switches

What form factor are you after?

It's a Rama Koyu (Tank edition).

TKL > 100% >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 60%

Seconding Aliaz (if you want a heavier spring) and Gat silent brown.

You should be able to find some budget boards (e.g. James Donkey) on Ali with blacks, a nice option would be buying a cheap hotswap board like the Hexgears GK705 and lubing your switches before putting them in

what do?

I'm someone who has never used a mechanical keyboard, ever. I know about a few of the switches at the most basic level. I play video games a decent amount and spent a lot of time typing essays for my college classes. Are there any specific things to look out for when buying a mechanical keyboard for someone like me?

Any keyboard that comes in MX Blues that is similar to a k70? (dedicated media keys not the shitty fn ones)

yellow > red (quite terrible)
green are exhausting to type on but good for space bar
soldering is fun (but dangerous)
you can get a 60% kit for 80 usd from ali express, 65 without the case
stabs arent lubed on ready to buy kbds
you can order a small pack with switches (not tester) for peanuts and ask for a mix of blue yellow black and green switches to get some feel of them

>sent :^)

candykeys

look up the official cherry series keyboard that use their own switches, should be in your price range or even lower.
