A lot of them still just use a linux server + fpga. QNX is expensive bloat.

>QNX is bloat
dilate

QNX's performance speaks for itself. Nothing is faster on embedded and mobile devices.

>QNX
Don't you fucking remind me of BB10.
I'm still pissed the new CEO decided to kill it and sold out to Google.

It's dead.

so much this

bb10 was the fastest mobile OS i've ever used, and it wasn't a battery guzzler. responsive, light, and intuitive. if they just sold those phones for 25-30% less, and actually marketed them, we might not be in this position.

>Blackberry shit
are you retarded or just 12? qnx was only purchased by blackberry in '07. it was around for like 25 years before that, and at one point was partially open sourced.

I never fucking said it wasn't, but RiM is as good as dead. Unless they sell the IP, QNX may as well be too.

sad words, but agreed :(

Good. Fuck canadians.

>embedded
fuck off boomer with your dying profession

Well, you're wrong, so...

comparing linux vs an RTOS , are you stupid?

Why does it have to be this way?

Wowie. My employer finally made it on here

People talk about blackberry all the time.

so much this, i literally seethe each time i remember.

Kind of sucks with Android, but there's a bigass battery on her, Hub and a ortho keyboard. Expensive as fuck, but for the amount of typing I do it's a godsend.

Blackberry Key2 are hype

dont reply when you have zero idea what qnx is

No surprise, Google Services eat batteries. Kill that process and it is like a new, faster phone.

Lots of strange decisions in the world of mobile phones. I am particularly annoyed they killed Palm Pre.

I wish QNX didn't die and instead was Open Sourced, would love to run it on my desktop for research.

you can unironically use it as a ftp/nfs network server with some VM fuckery.

Same. I would kill for them to add in the cursor mode like the key1 and priv had. It's only software disabled.

Still good for ssh and music player when I'm traveling. (outside of normal phone use)

>VM fuckery
I want some BARE METAL QNX

Linux is faster
Microkernels are slow as fuck

According to what metric(s)? How do you come to such a conclusion?

He’s like all the other FUDders that call back to the bad performance of the Mach days as if microkernel technology has not evolved since then

That interface looks great. Why did we even go to flatshit?

ONX is not free or open. That's what limited it. The market were very familiar with QNX but chose otherwise. The famous ONX boot floppy with networking and GUI was cool.

qnx.com/download/ may have items of interest.

it's on their website

no browser built in tho, root/-

My Passport just fucked itself, should I go for a Priv or a KEYone?

>QNX
I miss it bros

What's ONX and what does it have to do with QNX
