So, what games are you guys even playing with the new cards? I've got a shitty 970 and I can play even the latest and greatest at mid-high. I get that you need a big card for 4K, but like... What games are coming to PC that even push needing a new card? Hell I bought a PS4 due to the games drought on PC.

These are meant for like 1440p 144 hz and 3440 x 1440p 100 hz I think.

Yeah I know the monster cards are for running multiple 4K monitors with high refresh rates, but what about the slightly less but still high end cards? Besides gimmicky raytracing what are they good for? Besides photoshop and the like.
Games are limited by the current console generations, sure I can get some extra sparkles but once you sorta hit the ceiling why go any higher?

Well Witcher 3 pushes the limits of my card, I can sustain 60@1440p, but not always. Still not a big deal, I just turned some gay hair stuff off.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance runs at about 45@1440p, and that's with no anti-aliasing, so that's a good reason.
Also besides FPS, AMD has way better Linux support than Nvidia (my desktop is my workstation) and their frame sharpening stuff looks fantastic.
