Not going below a hundred years old laptop. Of course, nowadays there are no such laptops, but I am willing to wait until there are.

i think you will find that you can't downvote and censor people you disagree with on Jow Forums
before that happens you should fuck off back to redd it

>stop using words that convey exactly what you want to most people >:(

>look at me, I use old hardware!
>I don't even need new hardware since I'm so "smart" I can drive my uses 2012 Fagpad to its maximum potential

I used my Thinkpad X23 as my only laptop for a month just a little while back to see if I could stand using such an old machine. It worked great.

"Primary laptop" does it better without sounding douchy

Im using an old 2011 macbook pro i got for free from a family member. i had some extra ram and a spare ssd, and this thing is pretty fast.

In what world does daily driver sound douchy? It's been a common word referring to cars for decades and more recently started to be applied to tech as well.

Sandy Bridge or high-end Core 2 Duo on average. If I didn't give a fuck about the Internet, a good Pentium II PE machine.
Have sex. Unironically.

i wouldn’t touch anything that has less than 4 threads, unless it can run xp

I want to say I love it when consumer babies get overly defensive at the very idea of someone else not consuming like they do, but it's honestly fucking sad.

>le consumer
Whatever you say, poorman.

Most of us have newer machines probably nicer than whatever boring mid-priced garbage you purchase on credit that you're angry nobody cares about.

Netbook with intel atom n270 and 2gb of ram isn't too bad. Dual boot with windows xp and 32bit xubuntu. With an ssd it's actually pretty nice, of course the ssd will be limited by the sata ii speeds. It will play h246 @ 720p about youtube quality encoding. You could probably go older with around the same power as these specs though, and the 1024x600 screen is somewhat limiting.

A 2012 Retina MacBook Pro

I'm using a mid 2012 13" non Retina macbook. Has the i7, put in a SSD and 16gb of RAM. The 2012 non retinas are still officially supported by Apple, everything is user serviceable, battery is still great. They have USB 3.0, SD card reader, ethernet port, stuff that modern laptops no longer have. Keep your eye on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace you'd be surprised how cheap you can find accessories every now and then. I use it for video editing and just overall life stuff.

>Referring to cars
Yes cars not computers they are not the same thing

Wrong board.

>Life stuff

Get out Luddite

they are precisely the same thing, brainlet

unironically nobody on this board has had sex

>They have USB 3.0, SD card reader, ethernet port, stuff that modern laptops no longer have
My modern laptop has that stuff, it is just consumer laptops who don't have it anymore.

Were you someone's daily driver in prison or something

Consumer laptops do have that though, mine's as consumer as it gets and it has all that.

I revived a 2004 Gericom P4 laptop with a Geforce, 1gb of ram and a 80gb hdd last year. Puppy linux made it usable.
The only big issue is the bloat from browsers ans internet websites. Otherwise you can do pretty much anything

1.5GHz PowerBook G4

probably something like a x60/t60 but wouldn't be super happy about it

2009 Polycarbonate Macbook
2008 Macbook Pro Unibody

t61 and 80gb hdd
run openBSD on it

Well my Macbook is acceptable to be seen in public with

Wrong

Based.

i have
its overrated

Any Core2Duo or Quad laptop.

>acceptable to be seen in public with
>fagbook

Probably one with a haswell CPU plus an mxm GPU.

x220

That's what's sad. I use my ryzen desktop to make shitty nightcore and play spintires, i do all my uni/work on my x220.

I have some laptops that I picked up from thrift stores with Windows 7 stickers that work quite well. Also have a Thinkpad T400 and T500 that shipped with Vista and they too work nicely.

ricing is a car term too kek

Thinkpad t420 is still my main computer

>imagine throwing out money just for muh gaymes

>incel

>amd

i5 4th gen and at least 8gb ram

I wouldn't mind using my old Latitude E6400 with a P8600 Core 2 Duo, a Quadro NVS and a 900p IPS screen and an SSD. I loved that machine. Anything older would be too slow.

Attached: DSC_9214.jpg (2400x1912, 696K)

kek the last one

Thinkpad 760XD 166 MHz
netbsd tty console
unironically

I have a year old Dell XPS that I bought from a friend for $600.
Also, I said I wasn't poor, so unlike you I haze zero debt. Not sure why you assume everyone is as poor and/or bad with their money. Maybe it's some kind of projection?

Yeah, i love driving my x220 to work!

I have never heard anyone use that term for 30 years
Take your onions elsewhere

My W530, still rekts most modern consumer laptops with i7 3940XM, 32GB RAM, Quadro GPU and SSD which is impressive for something 6+ years old and cost me $400

either my x61s or t60

epicly based

>go to best buy
>purchase a new computer peripheral
>plug it into usb port
>"failed to detect driver..."
>"please insert cdrom to install driver"
sure, i love installing Persons Who Operate Road Vehicles onto my computer

>daily driver
why do people do this

>daily driver
be reasonable op
