>Post at least some attempt at a parts list
>List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
>For monitors, include purpose (e.g., photoediting, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable)

CPUs based on current pricing
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on most mobos with the right BIOS)
>R3 2200G - Minimum 30-60fps gaming. The stronger 3400G sells for $150. (R3K APUs OCs better than R2K)
>R5 2600 - 60fps+ gaming CPU with great value
>R5 3600 - Great gaming CPU
>R7 3700X - Overkill gaming CPU
>R7 1700X - Budget video editing
>R9 3900X - Professional tasks

RAM
>Do not use a single DIMM. 2 sticks for a typical dual channel CPU
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 3200CL16 or Micron E-die ("AES" in P/N) recommended
>AMD B & X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP
>B-die is EOL, stock is limited

GPUs based on current pricing
1080p
>RX 570/580 8GB - Can be found on sale/used for cheap. Look for 570s which are >1240MHz boost
>(GTX 1660TI @ ~$230/Vega56 @ ~$270) - higher fps / more demanding games
>RX 5700 - higher FPS
1440p
>RX 5700 - standard, 75-100FPS+
>RX 5700XT - higher fps
2160p (4K)
>RTX 2070S OC - budget option. Turing scales better into 4K than Navi does. OR upscale from lower resolution with RIS
>2080Ti - best for 4K but expensive

>Navi AIB models come mid-August. 5700 non-XT blower is alright, due to low power.

So what's a cheap and solid motherboard for a Ryzen 3600?

planning on watercooling it? nice purchase

the one that will allow you to passively or watercool the chipset

b450 tomahawk max

pretty badly, because you couldn't wait 2 weeks baka

msi tomahawk max or msi b450m mortar max

I just purchased a Sapphire RX 5700T to replace my dead GTX 980. Running 1080p 120hz, i7 6700K, 16GB of memory. Will probably eventually upgrade to 1440p.

Did I fuck up?

Reminder that OP is an AMD shill and doesnt want you to know intel is infinitely better

Any info on DDR5 ram? I want to build a pc when newer ram sticks come out since I hear they're not too far away, are we likely to see them late 2020?

Alright cool. Does that support it straight out of the box or will I have to flash the BIOS to get 3rd gen support?

Attached: 1449041432818.png (1061x1049, 633K)

user pls link that video

will work ootb, since that's the point of the max lineup

Radical. Cheers Anons.

>Does that support it straight out of the box
yes but only if it's a max model
otherwise the older non max need flashback

youtu.be/fRVSGFjKf4E

this seems like a sequel or its the video i duno
youtu.be/nHD9sS-9sec

i did it guise, that sale for the gayming plus and dimms sealed the deal for me, wish me luck

What are the SD cards for?

thanks, why does the VGA cable spilt up and which end goes into the gpu?

Attached: IMG_20190802_203516_hdr.jpg (2560x1440, 1005K)

those cables are bad for OC, they make unstable voltages
the dual end is the one on the GPU. thats why they have that VGA sign on them. they should also have a little optional nub that turns their 6 pin into 8 pin.

Critique, I'm not buying anything for at least a few months. The monitor is just a placeholder for the 27GL850. I'm not a huge gamer, but I want this rig to last.

Anons rate my build and give me things I can improve
The GPU, SSD and HDD I already have and want to use in my build.

I want to buy a R9 3900X because 7NM so I can play Japanese porn games and watch youtube videos.

Convince me not to.

AMD 5800 XT WHEN

one for my phone and the 2nd one for my 3ds( probably) since they are really cheap (i dont live in the land of the >free)
also the splitter is for my coolermaster v6 since the cord is gettiing kinda weak, i soldered and fixed it but its not the same as a brand new one
i noticed that the new amd stock coolers need you to unmount the mobo plastic thing to install it like most aftermaker coolers so im 99% sure i can mount mine on an am4 board

3950x is better
3900 is cheaper

Next year.

>inb4 they release blower designs even though 5700xt blower is a housefire

Seething animetard nigger.

You're fine

dilate

pcpartpicker.com/list/MgzkCb
This is the one oops

This is the cable that comes with my Seasonic focus plus gold 750, will I be ok for OC?

Attached: cables.jpg (1443x80, 9K)

So is it only older motherboards that need flashing to get Ryzen 3 to work?

I just bought a x570 board and would just like to be prepared. I saw some reviews that said it needed flash but it doesn't seem right since these are brand new boards.

Getting a 1600p monitor and a VR headset, is an RX 580 good enough for games and VR h-games/porn?

it will need because the bios has changed

afaik it will oc poorly compared to proper 2 cables
its fine, you shouldnt push too much or else the gpu would die too soon anyway

X570 should work out of the box

cope more anime faggot

Any recommendations for VR headsets? Thinking about getting one for h-games and porn. Should I just wait for Index, wait(TM) for a better Reverb, or just get an Odyssey+ off eBay?

Also, when is 3rd-gen Threadripper getting released?

How much of an OC difference are we talking, compared to 2 proper cables? Because my PSU comes with 2 of those cables and I could use them if I wanted.

SEETHING

Attached: 1563830665465.jpg (650x1024, 51K)

Can't fit my psu in once I add non mobo cables into my case, but its okay I can return it once I pay 20 quid for postage fee's

>just bought 10 New AMD Radeon Graphics Holographic stickers for 6.70$
Is this a mistake?

Attached: chiken.jpg (926x960, 40K)

Proper pair of tits, not like your stupid 2d shit.

Source on these numbers?

6/10, needs work.

Probably wont see them mainstream until at least intel and AMD release a new socket type, which I doubt is at least until 2021

No, but you have to buy and i9 now because you did that or Allah will smite you with the wrath of a million intcel users

Have sex, Incel.

epic

Just trust me bro

What can be changed, the GPU, SSD and HDD I will use because I already have them.

No, I will just buy 83 Original AMD Pro Holographic stickers from Computex UK instead for 44$

Attached: ok.png (864x487, 238K)

I've had my ryzen 1600 for about 4 or so years now. When is a good time to upgrade your cpu? or are cpus supposed to last longer than gpus? i mainly use my computer for gaymen btw

If your mobo can handle a gpu and CPU upgrade you should do that or cpu + ram

de.pcpartpicker.com/list/GVbwGG

How did I do m8s? GPU is KFA2 2070 Super, and the motherboard is b450 tomahawk max, couldn't find those 2 parts in pcpp already.

Attached: 1526561237041.gif (480x270, 343K)

I meant psu instead of mobo

Pls rate
Gonna use a Tomahawk MAX and 5700 non-blower

Attached: Anmerkung 2019-08-02 221607.png (1106x752, 83K)

I know my mobo can handle a cpu upgrade. I just don't know about gpu. was eyeing a 1660 since I have an RX 580 right now. I already have 16 GB of ram so I don't think getting any more will do me much good.

do people even buy biostar mobos?
how's that company still afloat?

Whats good about the Tomahawk Max anyways?

back to discord you fucking trannies

Attached: 1555762238985.jpg (989x1199, 257K)

They were good back in the day. Then Gigabyte stopped being shit and MSI followed suit and Biostar just got left behind. Now Asus, Gigabyte and MSI appear to just clone each other.

you did alright, though check geizhals.de for prices. they list a 2TB MX500 for 220€ and the meshify C dark TG for 70€
you won't need a 750W PSU. 650W will be more than enough.

Looks solid.

M.2 arent fasters than SATA's just a head ups. (At least on gayming)

I don't where else to turn to, Jow Forums, but my PC is stuck on a boot loop. I've changed the ram slots around, unplugged each non vital component, reset my BIOS when it managed to boot into them on one rare occasion and nothing's changed. Faulty power supply maybe? It's a EVGA 650 G1 I've had for about 4 years

Attached: 1520631126601.jpg (1080x1145, 150K)

A GPU upgrade is always good, if you want to take it a step further you can get a new mobo to fit your current parts and the new one you want, while upgrading your cpu

>They were good back in the day
what timeframe are we talking about here?

>Love 3PD women
>Tranny

Attached: 1562187763536.png (1080x1053, 662K)

What benefit is there to getting a new mobo? From my understanding they are more sturdy than GPUs or CPUs so I don't really see the benefit in upgrading this early. Unless there is a big benefit to "upgrading" I don't really see a point.

you'll never pass

When Gigahertz was optional.

I didn't pay those prices, I autistically used geizhals on everything, even got the monitor new for 275€, that shit goes for 100€ more usually. Just wanted to check if my build was ok.

>you won't need a 750W PSU. 650W will be more than enough
The difference in price was miniscule, I got a good deal on the 750. I also like having wattage headroom for possible future upgrades and/or OCing. Is there a downside to running a larger PSU than you need? I don't think PSUs draw more power than needed, so in theory I shouldn't pay a higher electricity bill using a 1000W PSU or a 650W one when both will only draw the power the system needs?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 3.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
I'm just gonna use the fan it comes with

Mobo: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

Storage: Seagate NAS HDD 1 TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive

Kingston A400 240 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4 GB Video Card

PSU: Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

What can be better and what is good, also do you guys know good ATX cases?

So this my actual build
valid.x86.fr/446aws
techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-hd-7970.c296

My monitor is shitting itself, and my PC will sometimes freeze for no reason. I can't find the default component, so why not upgrade everything.

I don't play as much but I use the Steam Link to play some shit with my family (Sonic Racing, Slap City, Overcooked).

Should I go for the 2600 140€ or 3600 240€ ?
I don't really need the performance but I'm more interested in the Spectre mitigation, should I care as a consumer ?

Should I change my GPU or it's fine for the kind of thing I do ?

Thx in advance

Attached: heh.jpg (1002x683, 233K)

Those were my main complaints.

That being said,
> change the PSU to a SeaSonic/Super Flower derived PSU
> change from 2x8gb to 1x16gb RAM
Other than that, everything else is up to personal preference. Maybe get the 3700?
Personally, I got the ASRock Gaming K4 motherboard because of the way the PCI-E ports are and a Corsair 200R case.

With the rigs I've had and the rigs I've built/upgraded especially the ones that got upgraded bit by bit getting a mobo is good for me because I like to have it ready for when I need it

3700 Is too expensive for me the storage isnt going to be that big of a problem but is it really good to change the gpu?

What should I choose between a 2060 Super and 2070 if they are the same price? I think the 2070 has slightly better performance but I've read about reliability issues with them

> 4770k
> gtx1080

should i get a 1440p/144hz monitor or is my computer too shitty to actually take advantage of the higher resolution/framerate?

Attached: mhhh.png (516x440, 157K)

Yeah for me I think I might just upgrade my CPU (and maybe my GPU if I have some cash laying around). My RAM is good as is my mobo for now so I don't think those are necessary.

DeepCool Neptwin V2 or Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black for my new 3700X? Or is the stock cooler fine somehow?

TR4 only _supports_ up to DDR4-2933 running in quad, and lists DDR4-1866 for quad by two, i.e. all eight slots. How does this translate to actual performance. I assume I can use DDR4-3200 just fine, do I declock it though? Buy cheaper RAM in the first place? Only use four slots? I thought more slots was more better, how does this translate to actual workload?

Go for it man, seems like a solid plan.

get the super. runs cooler, quieter, more efficient, more updated.

>i7-4770K
>GTX 1080
How old is this build? The 4770K and Haswell's still hold up quite nicely today for games and some 3D environments. I just got the 3700X for my new build since i need the extra power for workstation use. Keeping my 4770K though. You could still easily get a few more years out of these two if you don't find yourself not getting the desired performance in what you do.

A good time to upgrade CPUs is after a new socket has been released and it's been given a few months to mature. Either you can upgrade your motherboard and CPU and won't experience the problems early adopters have or can upgrade your existing CPU to another one of the same socket after initial shock when prices deflate due to new tech. AMD is a lot better when it comes to CPUs than Intel because they don't change sockets every two years. And yes, CPUs last longer than GPUs. I'm using dual X5975s myself, which are over a decade old. Other guys still use i7 920s, i5 2500Ks, or i7 4700Ks and don't have problems. You're fine.

As for GPUs, wait for the next architecture, then a year after that for the inevitable refresh. AMD's mid-range cards haven't been updated yet.

started this pc with a 4770k gtx 770 combo but the 770 died so i got the 1080 (because it was the same price as a 1070). must have been around 2014 or so

my 1080p monitor is older than the cpu so i wanted to get something better

also only rgb is the logo on the gpu

Attached: old.jpg (580x751, 75K)

Is it a problem with the mobo or the drive? Might be that your MBR got fucked. Just make a LiveCD and try to use that to recover your install.

Anyone else who's planned to construct an all AMD build for this or next year to go alongside their 4-6+ year old Intel & AMD build?

I'm already doing maintenance and refurbishing on my 4 year old i7-4770K & MSI R9 280X build courtesy of the late ESC for the past month.

I'm probably going to use my new workstation as the render slave funnily enough whilst i use my old system in the meantime since it's still got a few years left in it, just to be more efficient.

What are the best large mousepads?

Get a Tomahawk MAX else it looks pretty solid

I think even the 580 BTFO the 970 nowadays. Vega 56 or a 1080/Ti would be best for you to upgrade to, though. Don't forget,
> 3.5 GB

I use a large smooth marble slab as my desk and it's by far the best mousepad I've ever used

Its a mousepad bro
Get one from steelseries if you care about gayming, else just order something from amazon in your size

3200 will be fine, it'll just get underclocked by the BIOS. More modules is actually shittier when it comes to new AMD architecture since you can't reliably overclock all RAM modules to the same speed and you get more benefits from faster RAM than from additional memory space from dual/triple/quad-channelling.

I personally use one of those UPG gunpads.

Should I get a used Fury or a used 580? Should I save up for a Vega 56 instead or go with the 5700?

Attached: harshness_miku_oppai_mousepad_1436759386_815d329b.jpg (640x640, 42K)

what motherboard schould i get for a 3700x?

x570 most are expensive also fan

b550 release when? worth the wait?

b450, x470 seems like there are alot of bios issues
also next year probably the last AM4 generation will those boards be able to run those cpus?
