Want help? >State budget & CURRENCY >Post at least some attempt at a parts list >List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work >For monitors, include purpose (e.g., photoediting, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable)
CPUs based on current pricing: >Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on most mobos with the right BIOS) >R3 2200G - Recommended minimum gaming >R5 2600 - Good gaming CPU with great value >R5 3600 - Great gaming CPU >R7 3700X - Overkill gaming CPU >R7 1700X - Budget video editing >R9 3900X - Professional tasks
RAM: >Always choose at least a two stick kit; 2x 8GB is recommended >CPUs benefit from high speed RAM; 3200CL16 is ideal >AMD B and X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP
Graphics cards based on current pricing: >Used cards can be had for a steal; inquire about warranty 1080p 16:9 >RX 570 8GB - good performance with great value >GTX 1660 - standard >RX 5700 - overkill framerates* 1440p 16:9 + 1080p 21:9 >RX 5700 - basic >RX 5700XT - standard* >RTX 2070 Super - higher framerates in some games* 2160p 16:9 + 1440p 21:9 >RTX 2070 Super - standard >RTX 2080Ti - best fit for 4K but expensive *requires complementary CPU and high Hz monitor
General: >PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING >Don't bother buying a new monitor for gaming unless it's high refresh with adaptive sync >A 250GB or larger SSD is almost mandatory; consider m.2 form factor >Bottleneck checkers are worthless
Stop saying the 2070 Super is >high framerates in some games when it's also LOWER in other games. It's retarded. Even when it's higher, it's 20% more expensive without being 20% faster. It's a bad buy unless you just want to play 4K on medium settings.
That was an awful deal. Reddit is fucking retard. Fury stutters badly with its 4GB in a lot of newer games. You can get a 8GB RX580 for that price. Fury no longer gets driver optimization support so Polaris often ends up performing better in 2019 games.
How much more is the XT than the 5700 got how much performance gain? Is it worth it
Liam Parker
>You can get a 8GB RX580 for that price. No you can't. They start at $150 on a good day with a wicked good sale. A couple generation old flagship having been previously mined on I'd accept for that price. A current gen mid-tier card for more money having been mined on I'd avoid like the plague. I was hoping if it was apparently good enough as a 1440p card for the time, it'd be good enough for >60FPS at 1080p, but it doesn't matter because that ship sailed anyway. >so Polaris often ends up performing better in 2019 games. Newest game I've touched is EDF5, and that's the only one and it hardly counts as A, nevermind AAA.
>have a cheap msi b450m board >update bios for the 3000s chips >literally not a single problem How are people having so many issues? I'm literally a tech retard and it worked out great.
Benjamin Cruz
pwm fans and a ryzen 3700x is a bad mix no matter the config
Continuing on this I tried setting max P states to 1 for both memory and gpu and see at which point everything crashes with a benchmark. At P1 it didnt' crash and I got the memory to P3. But as soon as I applied P2 for the GPU the pc locked up. I am getting the feeling that the VRMs burned down somehow (even though their temps never went over 60-70C) and thats why the sensors on them are showing 0C, thats why with higher load the whole thing locks up. but it does makse sense
Liam Bailey
When will be a good time to buy a GPU? Rather, should I just buy an AIB 5700XT when they come out or should I wait until the next gen cards?
Blake Jackson
1440p the xt is the correct choice 1080p it doesnt matter
Caleb Lopez
AIB 5700xt will be great cards. Dont fall for the justwait™ meme
David Miller
I'm also grappling over whether 5700XT will be powerful enough. I just don't want to drop 2080 Ti money.
Lincoln Baker
de.pcpartpicker.com/list/FbgZgw Give advice on how to improve aesthetics of this build. Do you think the asuka figure will fit in the case? Suggestions for the monitor are welcome also. (1440p 144hz)
Jace Wright
>Card will be dusty do not return the card if you don't want dusty card >Bitching about the return policy in general when this is chinkland and there's no way you're getting a refund in a timely manner shipping that shit back >DO NOT WASH CARD IN SINK DUMB GWAI LO >Testing the card to make sure it works with a free trial version of a 2003 3DMark benchmark I should be thanking you for the laughs, if anything.
Powerful enough for what user? Pricing is not really a concern Powercolor have already confirmed the pricing will be the same as their blower cards
Parker Peterson
clean it out yourself faggot, also i you win a dispute on ali the seller has to pay for shipping. (which they never bother doing, you'll get refund anyway) Ali has excellent buyer protection
Chase Jenkins
depends how much horsepower you want 5700xt is good all rounder that'll last at least 5 years but if you want the heavy artillery (2080ti tier) better wait for big navi
Jose Hernandez
I honestly hated her in the series, I just thought she worked with the colour scheme
Tyler Turner
Powerful enough to consistently hit 60FPS on 4K. As far as price, what I'm saying is my budget can be higher than what the 5700XT is at, but I also don't want to hit 2080 Ti prices either.
I'd just like to see what their pricing structure will be. If it's not $1200, I'd gladly buy a 5900 for longevity sake.
Liam Turner
3200mhz minimum 3600mhz is the recommended.
Juan Rodriguez
Reposting from last thread, what's the motherboard to go for if I'm planning on running a 3600, but with the catch being I need muh wi-fi?
Kevin Ortiz
Can I OC a 3200mhz ram?

Anyone know when 2080 Supers will be in stock? Looking for the EVGA 3 fan version
It's guaranteed to be a used mining card that wasn't taken care of. It's guaranteed to die in a year, tops, if you're really nice to it and clean the fuck out of it yourself, replace the paste, etc. Why buy a lemon you have a 200% chance of getting chinked on?
If no plans to overclock stock is fine. If you are gonna buy a cooler go for a cheap one like a hyper 212 black. aliexpress.com/item/32958609112.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.33d73c00Ri5ok0 This was reviewed on techyescity if you just want a cheap cooler to increase the lifespan of your CPU
Eli Campbell
are you by any chance the user who was shilling 4k 60hz TVs a few threads ago
Levi Cruz
Is a 650W PSU enough for a low to mid build?
John Johnson
Amd master auto overclocked my 3700 to 4.4+ at 1.45 volts, I chose creator mode and lock it at 1.38 because I didn't know if the auto clock was ok. Not sure how to get it back to default settings. What should I be doing? What do I disable or enable in the bios and on ryzen master. Performance is really top class in many ways so far.
>tfw mining GPU >tfw considering a mining PSU next Too bad these are the only components worth getting from mining rigs. A cheap decent CPU would be nice.
So I gave this thing a shot. Went into the BIOS and set the RAM frequency to 3200 and all the timings to these values, rebooted and was hit with two issues. 1) Upon booting the hardware shuts down three times after a couple seconds before finally booting properly. What the hell is this? Doesn't sound healthy and it triples my boot time. 2) When I got into Winblows and checked HWInfo, it still showed the original clock speed under current performance settings. Went back to the BIOS and there it measured even differently (2800 or something).
After this, I tried resetting everything to default and only setting the clock speed to 3000. Gave me a BSOD and initiated recovery/repair which even XMP didn't do. So I set it back to default (2133) and I'm running fine again, but with gimped RAM speed.
Almost bought that and decided I'll save more money with the A1 plus
Jaxon Hill
Grats, you won the mobo gacha.
Xavier Myers
Thanks for the help my weaboo friend. Considering your case is itx i stil have a chance. Pcpartpicker states that the case is 460mm tall. considering a standard atx psu is 86 mm tall roughly 374mm of space is left in the case. The Asuka figure is 270 mm tall so this should be grand. The next thing to consider is the space at the front of the case. There is 381mm card clearance in the case and the rx 5700xt will be about 273mm long so we gucci.
Austin Lewis
>or should I wait until the next gen cards? They've literally just been released less than a month ago. If you need the performance for your monitor, you need it. Waitfagging any more than two months prior to a new generation release is retarded, let alone just after a generation has dropped. The only thing currently worth waitfagging for is maybe the likely hood of a higher range Navi card if the 5700XT doesn't do what you need it to.
O shit whoops im a tad sleep deprived, i thought was in response to Apologies for any inconvenience caused
Joseph Thompson
>buys pc with amd cpu and amd gpu >can't use android emulator because it needs intel's hyper-v >can't use many machine learning packages because they require nvidia's cuda why the fuck do people recommend amd again
this might sound too complex for you but developing for android requires somewhere to test you program, yes. people can use emulators to test their apps in different versions of android. it is not rocket science, really.
I kind of want to buy an aib 5700xt but i hate amd so much and fear the drivers will give me shit and piss me off. If aibs start at 450 i may as well just buy a 2070s. Idk. Still thinking about it. If aib 5700xt go for 400 id suppose its the only logical choice
Blake Price
dude, looking back at it, I would gladly spend a bit more for shit that just works, I don't know how much you earn but I lost far more money in time while dealing with amds shit
I bought the ad27dq thinking itd be fine and the response times are disgusting ln balance od. Speed od has terrible overshoot when using gsync and less than 120 hz as well.
At least the colors look better than my ancient pg279q.
Sebastian Brooks
my only experience with amd is bulldozer, and it was a housefire, dunno about their new gpus though
I had a amd game laptop long ago, and a8 apu, a 7700hd, and an fx 6300. It was all a huge fucking mistake and its really hard for me to want to give them a couple hundred dollars. 7700hd wasnt that bad though desu
Brandon Martinez
lol look at this waitlet just get a shitty pixio if you can't handle the wait
Yeah probably should just stick with that that works. I lose my fucking mind when i come home from fixing broken shit all day at my programing job and my projects at home fuck all but and i have to fix them. My samsung smart tv is usually setting me off because its pos software
Cooper Martinez
No bitch ive waited for years already and almost bought a pixio but i am glad i waited

I plan to buy 3700x, which motherboard should I buy, asus prime x570-pro or TUF gaming x570-plus ? or maybe there is something better from gigabyte (around $250).
Hudson Peterson
I like dead kennedys
William Gray
>not getting the tomahawk MAX
> getting the Ballistix Sport LT instead of AT version
>I lose my fucking mind when i come home from fixing broken shit all day at my programing job and my projects at home fuck all but and i have to fix them. Yeah, comfy vidya time is instead troubleshoot your GPU time. It feels like work, except you payed for it instead of getting payed for it.
Matthew Powell
Just buy a midrange msi its not like poozen can oc so why pay more unless you want special features
