>Post at least some attempt at a parts list
>List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
>For monitors, include purpose (e.g., photoediting, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable)

CPUs based on current pricing
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on most mobos with the right BIOS)
>R3 2200G - Minimum 30-60fps gaming. The stronger 3400G sells for $150. (R3K APUs OCs better than R2K)
>R5 2600 - 60fps+ gaming CPU with great value
>R5 3600 - Great gaming CPU
>R7 3700X - Overkill gaming CPU
>R7 1700X - Budget video editing
>R9 3900X - Professional tasks

RAM
>Do not use a single DIMM. 2 sticks for a typical dual channel CPU
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 3200CL16 or Micron E-die ("AES" in P/N) recommended
>AMD B & X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP
>B-die is EOL, stock is limited

GPUs based on current pricing
1080p
>RX 570/580 8GB - Can be found on sale/used for cheap. Look for 570s which are >1240MHz boost
>(GTX 1660TI @ ~$230/Vega56 @ ~$270) - higher fps / more demanding games
>RX 5700 - higher FPS
1440p
>RX 5700 - standard, 75-100FPS+
>RX 5700XT - higher fps
2160p (4K)
>RTX 2070S OC - budget option. Turing scales better into 4K than Navi does. OR upscale from lower resolution with RIS
>2080Ti - best for 4K but expensive

>Navi AIB models come mid-August. 5700 non-XT blower is alright, due to low power.

General
>Yes, adaptive sync (free/g/sync) is important for gaming
>NVMe isn't better than SATA SSD for gaming
>Don't use Speccy
>Don't trust sites which rank CPUs by arbitrary, obfuscated scores (eg userbenchmark, passmark, cpuboss)

Reminder that Intel is the only choice regardless of your scenario. Gaming? 9900K/KF. Server/workstation? Xeon.

Where does go on the motherboard?

Attached: IMG_20190804_123316_hdr.jpg (2560x1440, 639K)

On the pins where it says "speaker", if you happen to live in 1995 where those are still a thing.

Especially gpus. Integrated graphics are far superior to anything nvidia has to offer

Wait for 3950X or you're getting cucked on single core performance. Poorfags don't need to reply to me by the way.

kek

Can I use vsync on free sync monitors?

>Sample size per SKU: 1

yes

AMD already pre-binned those for you unlike Intel where you need to play the lottery. Learn to importance sampling

No don't do that it makes mustard gas

How the fuck can i flash a board that has no BIOS flashback if i dont have 2nd Gen Ryzen CPU? i'm pretty much fucked and forced to look into different boards, or what? (Plan on Building my first PC)

>no dont do that it makes mustard gas
what the fuck are you doing user? he almost fell for the trap

is realtek lan as bad as people say it is?

Borrow a 200GE from amazon
Get a friend to do it
Get a local store to do it
Get a loan CPU from AMD
Use a SPI flasher

you ask mommy su to lend you a cpu so you can flash it then you send it back
not even kidding
amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100#faq-Short-Term-Processor-Loan-Boot-Kit

get a athlon 200ge from amazon, flash the board, return the athlon.

dunno
i heard it's more cpu intensive than intel lan, but for your average user it's negligible

Lmao, i'll consider those options.

Thanks

So should I get a used 8c/16t CPU?
Or will 6c/12t really be "future proof"
Pic very related

Excuse me what the fuck

Ka-ka-kawaiiiiiiiii

@w@

Currently running my R5 2600 @4.2GHz using 1.3925v can't go lower for 4.2GHz.
Should I just give up on running the cpu 24/7 at 4.2 and go down to 4.0?
I can run the CPU at 4.0 with 1.3v
Also should I update my bios? currently using a msi b450-a pro with AGESA 0.0.7.2

Consider stop being a retarded faggot and come back later

What is better 3200 with 16cls or 3000 with 14cls?

Read the manual you lazy fuck.

what's the max safe voltage for 2600?

First gen had 1.425v
Second gen has 1.35-1.4v

ok thanks

Thinking about upgrading for PS3 emulation purposes.
Currently running a 6600K + RX 570 4GB with 16 gigs of 3000mhz ram.
Is it just a meme at this point or does Intel still perform better when it comes to emulators?
Will I also need to upgrade my GPU to run let's say Person 5 in 4k60fps?

>pre-binned
>90% of the chips can't even hit their advertised boost speeds
Yeah AMD really is great at "sampling"

If you're gonna go for emulator games then I suggest you go for a i9 9900K and RTX 2080 super.

So i sold my 1080 ti a few months back to help family to get out of a financial rut asap, Which is no problem because a bro of mine is letting me use one of his ones. (SLI system)

Problem is I don't want to spend the stupid amounts of cash the 2080 ti is and the 2080 is literal 1080 ti performance.

1400p144hz gaymer btw. So i have no clue what the fuck to do, Do i just /wait/ for high end navi?

Attached: 1557735656200.jpg (240x240, 7K)

Titan RTX and Xeon W-3275 is bare minimum for emulating ps3 games at 480p 25fps

Forgot to type since i'm phoneposting, Bro wants his card back hence why i'm in the need for one and i have a Ryzen system so no iGPU.

just buy sapphire 5700 xt , its new 1080ti with few features for a cost of ~400$

The fuck is wrong with you guys? I'm not opposed to the idea of going with Ryzen, but from what I've heard Intel is or was supposed to perform better in emulators, if that's not the case anymore - good.

UserBenchmarks: Game 90%, Desk 84%, Work 84%
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 - 70.3%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660-Ti - 95.7%
SSD: Corsair Force NVMe PCIe M.2 240GB - 174.1%
HDD: Seagate Portable 1TB - 72.3%
RAM: Crucial BLS8G4D32AESBK.M8FE 2x8GB - 87.9%
MBD: MSI B450 GAMING PLUS (MS-7B86)
userbenchmark.com/UserRun/19002625

This good or crap?

high end navi will cut prices. in the mean time you should get a cheap vega off ebay if he wants his card back in a very short amount of time

Does it work or not?

jokes aside, 4k60 ps3 emulation isnt gonna really be feasible for a while until rpcs3 gets into optimization phase

Nice try, Intoddler

How do I stop windows downloading useless shit to my ssd?
Only used userbenchmark and downloaded firefox.

Just tried a 1600 with both the newest and newest pre 3000 bios and it didn't work either so I guess the board is broken?

>and RTX 2080 super.
lol more like 2080ti at minimum

>userbenchmark

Use the good windows.

youtube.com/watch?v=YJF5Q2btPOY

Come again?

>UserBenchmarks
Don't pay too much attention to this rubbish.

3990X when.

that is still only 1 game. they dont even have mgs4 playable yet.

upscaled GARBAGE to 4k at 60fps
why do people do this

>high end navi
Don't expect that to come anytime soon.

late q4 2019 confirmed already lol

>dude just wait

just buy what u dont really want goy
westerners disgust me

It's not 2009, SSD writes aren't a thing to be concerned about.

Any suggestions to what I should use?

brain

Use the computer. Do things with it, stop worrying about numbers unless you need to diagnose a problem.

Really tempted by the Meshify C but I can't decide on a tempered glass side or just a regular solid one. I like the window aesthetic but tempered glass makes me paranoid. Is it absolutely going to explode and destroy my computer one day? I also read somewhere that every time you tap it, the window gets closer to smashing like it accumulates damage because of how it's been made, is that true?

wake me up when i can finally play mgs4

[citation needed]

Do you have a source for that? I only have seen interviews where Su said it was coming, not a timeframe of when it was coming.

I have a Mesh C with dark TG for over 2 years now, glass is fine. Don't know where you read that shit.

date is not set in stone yet since drivers are still in early finishing stages, also once R7 fully clears out.
Do not get confused tho, this is not ''the big'' navi, it's just navi 12 one step up, tho it takes fat dump on 2080

>Source: my ass

Yeah sorry I dont make youtube videos

>Still no source
Yeah not buying it.

>recommended: 6 thread CPU

12 threads are fine for a good couple years, just plop in a cheap 4700x/4900x in 2024

the only game that gives my 2600 a workout at 1440p is battlefield 5, everything else doesn't even hit 50% usage with a 2080

>the only game that gives my 2600 a workout at 1440p is battlefield 5
are we talking high or ultra?

Mix of settings for highest framerate, lowest it goes to is about 120 with 64 players crammed into one spot with explosions like arras frontlines.

Ultra is the easiest on the CPU since most of the work will be done on the GPU.

3999WXSFK when

is pcie 4.0 on the x570 mobos a real game changer? or can i just buy the b450 tomahawk max without missing out on anything

Where to go for hardware advice?
>Jow Forums is forced drama, clickbait, disinformation and bar graphs without source or context
>big YT channels and websites are sponsored
>forums from web search are just anecdotal evidence, works/doesn't work on my machine

Attached: IMG_20190804_142055.jpg (1195x2048, 365K)

ask chang from your local pc hardware shop

Asus prime x570-pro
Or
Msi mpg x570 carbon pro wifi?
For 3700x/3800x.

look at multiple benchmarks

Is the MSI b450 gaming plus good enough for zen 2? Not really eager to spend the extra forty euro for the x470 version if bios flashback will work on the b450

Imo the taichi is not much more, but overkill for a 3700. Decide which do you want first.

get the MAX versions of the msi boards instead

they support ryzen out of box and have 36mb of rom storage

yeah but i don't think you'll be able to OC a 12c or a 16c a lot

the msi
it has better vrm

only advantage that i've seen so far is faster speeds for NVMe drives

i'm torn between a 3700x or a OC'd 9600k bundle, which one should i go for?

Attached: Capture23.png (883x521, 180K)

9600k is comparable to 3600, not 3700X.

The difference is 60 euros and I already have a pcie wifi adapter so its not a must. Id rather stay at 260eur mobos then jump to 320 one, I'm more interested in bios, pcie slots and memory oc here.
Taichi is a good choice but i got 2 ram sticks 2x16gb, doubt I'll go for 64 in the future and im not sure if using 2 sticks on t topology will have any drawbacks.
Could you by any chance recommend a x570 board with better vrms but more pcie slots than the carbon pro in the similar price range? 200-300euros

What the heck is that rubbish motherboard?

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wmsTYK9Z3-jUX5LGRoFnsZYZiW1pfiDZnKCjaXyzd1o/edit#gid=2112472504
follow the instruction to use the filter tool

Am I better off just going for a 9600k over a 3600 for gaming? This whole zen 2 motherboard situation is pissing me off and the i5 is only slightly more expensive.

All those things you mentioned probably work better on the taichi. But what I wanted to say is that it's way overkill for the 3700, so if you choose that, you should look for a cheaper one. Also, here the taichi is not 320 euro, but whatever. I just wanted to point out that the mobos you look at are already a bit too expensive for a 3700, but for a 3800 and possible upgrade you might want something better. So decide on the CPU first.

Sure if you don't mind stutters

Just get a 3600 and get better than the 9600k for cheaper. 3700X is what you'd compare to the 9700k, not 9600k.
Not sure. Looks like a very cheap ASRock board and not the Prime z390 it claims to be.

3600.

Can AMD gpus emulate games well?

What an incredible resource, thankyou

asus.com/uk/Motherboards/PRIME-Z370-P/
It's some discontinued 4 phase abomination.

how did i do pcpartpicker.com/list/ymTtV6 ?
mostly for gayming

Is this any good, I'm on a budget
