Can you redpill me on Window Maker?
Is GNUstep good?
Is there any reason for me to which from i3?
It looks aesthetic.

I mean, there is a reason Window Maker was the default GNU/Linux desktop. It is efficient and intuitive. You lose nothing by trying it, so just see if you like it yourself.

I've only ever used dwm, i3 and openbox.
How well do you think I'd manage?

Also is there anything else that I should know before going in?
I got a spare laptop for experimenting so I could try it out today or tomorrow.

fedora
gnome

>How well do you think I'd manage?
Easily. It is very well documented.
>I got a spare laptop for experimenting
Why not just install it alongside i3 on your main machine? It isn't going to break anything.

Was me a while ago, but I think I'll try to switch to the suckless suite, only time will tell if I won't go back to bspwm and polybar(or tint2) though.

>polybar
Switch to on-demand Conky.
Having a bar is silly.

I want to see what it's capable of and I'm going to break it many times in the process.
As I said, it's for experimenting.

When I comfortable enough with it I might install it to my desktop PC.

I'd recommend reading the documentation, then. That is the best way to learn about it.

I considered that, but I am not sure I really can do without it. I mean, I need... you are sort of right, but what about workspaces and which one is active?
Also: is there a way to have an overview of what windows are open per workspace? I know it is a global thing in place in dwm, but not more than that.
How hard is it to configure that stuff with conky DOes conky come to the foreground on demand or something?
