How do I trick this piece of shit service into thinking my work computer (Windows) is on my home network?

How do I trick this piece of shit service into thinking my work computer (Windows) is on my home network?

I'm not paying for their jew pass to watch my own fucking content.

VPN, dumbass.

Alternatively, you could run an nginx reverse proxy on the local machine and make it think that an external connection via http is really coming from local host.

My home PC is running 24/7 with a port-forwarded VPN as it is. How can I connect to it? I obviously know which port is open.

I don't know networking for shit so go easy on me

You don't need to buy anything for Plex to stream remotely on another computer wtf are you doing nigger

if you can ping the machine over the vpn, the key is that you need to access your plex server by ip. so 192.168.1.115:32400/web as opposed to myserver.local:32400/web, which plex blocks (for some reason)

>Going through the hassle of setting that shit up
>Not just mounting the directory with sshfs and playing your content with mpv

Is this bait?

I watch plex at work every day and haven’t paid a cent. I think you’re actually retarded.

You don't need to pay for remote access.
1) install plex
2) navigate to 192.168.12.34:32400/web (or whatever your local address is, localhost:32400/web, you do you) and claim the server by logging in to your account
3) make sure plex is reachable on your public ip:32400
4) log on to plex.tv/web with your account from any network and enjoy your content

>not knowing the fundamental feature of the Plex Pass

Why do you need a pass? I use Emby but ive been thinking about switching. Do you need to pay to watch content remotely?

>Do you need to pay to watch content remotely?
No. OP is just retarded. read

I havent used Plex. On Emby you can just make an account, add the account to the server, and then connect with that account and start streaming. Why the fuck do you have to jump through so many hoops to get Plex working?

Op is just retarded, all you need to do is log into your account with whatever server you are using and it will be tied to your account...

I use plex and have a plex pass... You DONT need a plex pass to stream to another PC outside of your network. Phones will need it(or the one time payment for the app).

Plex pass unlocks other shit, like hardware transcoding. If OP has a good PC, or a really fast connection, its not really needed.

I think PIA is cucking me. Shouldn't I just have to put in the forwarded port my pia connection has in here and be done? Because it's not working.

I also put 32400 here and it still doesn't help.

PIA isnt really vpn software for your home network, im not sure that’s going to help you.
You need to host an openvpn server on your plexbox and connect thru that. Openvpn has a lot of good documentation so if you’re determined and not a brainlet you should be able to figure that out

Do tcp

just portforward on your router dumb cunt

Quit acting like you know something we don’t faggot. We all have working shit, unlike your retarded ass.

You're a dumbfuck

You don't need plex pass for that

You're fucking stupid. Pia is not helping you here
