Wait for 10nm++++++ intel supershitter 2030

For those with little time: at the high end with socketed x86 CPUs, AMD offers you up to 50 to 100% higher performance while offering at a 40% lower price. Unless you go for the low end server CPUs, there is no contest: AMD offers much better performance for a much lower price than Intel, with more memory channels and over 2x the number of PCIe lanes. These are also PCIe 4.0 lanes. What if you want to more than 2 TB of RAM in your dual socket server? The discount in favor of AMD just became 50%.

We can only applaud this with enthusiasm as it empowers all the professionals who do not enjoy the same negotiating power as the Amazons, Azure and other large scale players of this world. Spend about $4k and you get 64 second generation EPYC cores. The 1P offerings offer even better deals to those with a tight budget.

So has AMD done the unthinkable? Beaten Intel by such a large margin that there is no contest? For now, based on our preliminary testing, that is the case. The launch of AMD's second generation EPYC processors is nothing short of historic, beating the competition by a large margin in almost every metric: performance, performance per watt and performance per dollar.

Analysts in the industry have stated that AMD expects to double their share in the server market by Q2 2020, and there is every reason to believe that AMD will succeed. The AMD EPYC is an extremely attractive server platform with an unbeatable performance per dollar ratio.

AnandTech is having an orgasm.

>AMD still has the better platform, but we think here the Xeon Platinum 8280 can be very competitive with an 80% discount off of list price.

ServeTheHome delivering the bants

Intel can be very competitive if they travel back in time and sell their pozzled shit to dinosaurs in 2015

people will realize besides raw clock speed, intel's success was due to cheated performance through speculative optimizations, which now pop up.

I refuse to believe AMD and intel didn't secretly plan this.

Attached: 1565247605201.png (898x882, 108K)

Plan what, to get pozzled by company that has 1/10th of $ but is not putting accent on diversity but on innovation?
Highly unlikely

What's the point of this slide?

It's to show how dumb he is. He's posting a graph of desktop parts in a server centric thread, a vidyagaem benchmark no less.

AMD is literally generation ahead of Intel at this point (realistically, 2,3 generations, or 6 intel generations of innovation )

I see the word AMD in the title and I post this chart.

>better node
>better architecture
At least 2 generations.

>AMD, 200% temps
>500% volts
Fuck off

Go back, this is no thread for techlets

Power usage does not equal not temps you retard.

>lower is better
fuck off kike

I'm actually impressed they managed to keep idle power the same as naples with 2x cache/cores/pcie and 30% higher memory bandwidth.

When the embedded options of this come out it'll be great for SFF servers.

Who let this nigger in here

wait for intel 7nm 10ghz 2027

Already started saving up. I hope $1kk will be enough.

lmao now AMD shills are kikes? You polfaggot really are losing the plot after 8ch went down.

imblying amd/intel isnot the same combany :----DDD

AMD:
motherboards still suck
bios still suck
still has temperature issues
still no 5 ghz

And the list goes on.

Both are ok.

go back

Why is Jow Forums being shilled so hard with AMD again today? Did the marketing team release another round of rupees for posters?

I'm not a nigger

stop posting my wife satania on this board.

I'll wait for a RISC-V-based cpu before I get a new one nevertheless.

No u.
Both are unironically good. Intel has an edge in a single thread, AMD in a multithread, but it doesn't fucking matter, a number of odd edge cases aside, because both are damn good.
I never was seriously bottlenecked while casually using 3230M. 4960x felt like a slight upgrade(exactly the same as 3770, I used both) and 8850H doesn't feel any different.
I have no reason to believe that AMD CPU are worse than 3770 and they at least 4/4.
The only modern CPU line that truly sucks is Celeron since even bottom of the barrel Pentium is 2/4 now, effectively making it pastgen i3, so it's somewhat redeemable.

AMD:

900% the Celsius degrees

Does anyone in this thread understand usage of server processors

its not like im using intel because it was anything but the best price/performance at the time but it doesn't matter that there are faster options available for my computing pleasure when a 7600k isn't hindering my computation satisfaction™

that abortion probably came from cripplechan

do you even do real work on your computer besides shitposting and watching porn?

I am an actual developer with a job, had 8 threads since 2014 and just got a 3900X because 8 threads is slow in 2019, I can't imagine myself having 4 threads tbqh.

AAAA desktop processors for average mongols have nothing to do with top of the line CPU PLS STOP

What is it with you retards blaming a diversity program that amounts to 2,5% of the R&D budget for intels failure? How braindead do you actually have to be to think this made any difference, especially since the R&D budget went from 6 to 14 billion in the past decade?

firing actual employees and telling ones that remain that they will employ someone just so that corporation is diverse would not impact product?
What?
What are apes doing on g

Intel CPUs have stopped since Skylake, with all the new ones coming out are just Skyalke improvements with 2 extra cores.

Are Xeons on the same boat? You don't see or read the usual suspects reviewing Xeons that often.

this is how xeons look for double the price

I'd buy Intel 9900K if it sold for $100 too.

Performance doesn’t matter
Cores don’t matter
Threads don’t matter
Cache doesn’t matter
Memory channels don’t matter
Pcie lanes don’t matter
Money doesn’t matter
Vulnerabilities don’t matter
Power consumption doesn’t matter

Why doesn't intel just buy the ASML machines?

Attached: 1561138007772.jpg (280x280, 12K)

J-just wait for 56 cores 9282. Only 400W (read 600W) TDP.

I think ice lake xeons are coming in 2020(?). They will be barely better though.

>Intel using a fucking chiller was simply a demo of future cooling solutions required

EUV for 7/10nm feature sizes has only matured Q1. Previously you still had to do SAQP (also what Intel is doing for Ice Lake but also what Zen 2 is using) for everything underneath metal though EUV takes care of the interconnect in Zen. Further, Intel has had problems with interconnect and Co-Cu diffusion when VLSI and validation was finished for the designs, coinciding with severe in-silicon vulnerabilities.

Intel's real goal is to speed up global warming to sink the Netherlands. Based.

I don't see any reason to buy Intel at this time. Even though their CPUs do better when OCed and in games because of higher turbo clocks.
Just look at this.

Attached: 1562686136556.jpg (670x744, 503K)

You don't have to beat the competition if humanity is extinct *thinking*

Thinking Intel can come close to this while currently being at least 2 generations behind

Attached: file.png (706x500, 454K)

They did.
They placed the backorders.
Actual deliveries are later.
N7 is 40nm MMP so it's not using SAQP for metal.

Less power means less heat made. In school did they tell you that when you heat something it gets hotter?

Fuck off back to /v/, adults are talking here.

AMDs stock went up 15% today when google and twitter announced they were switching to epyc.

Well this graph is shit, 9980 literally rapes a 3900x
