I was all for keyboards when I had a shit phone but then upgraded to a 150ish dollar phone and have yet to look for a physical keyboard again. Unless you quite literally work on the go then you don't need it. If you work on the go you probably will have a tablet + keyboard in the case.

As someone who has bought large chinkshit phones for ++ batterys, they are often far overrated and the SW is never optimized for the HW which has lack of battery saving options

Could be fine but I highly doubt it. A Note 7 will do you fine for typing or a simple 8 inch tablet+keyboard case like most people who need that functionality buy. The reason these phones died isn't because apple, though it did contribute, it's because tablets filled the portability with what they offered for quick portable typing.
