Easy clean: get some alcohool and a piece of cloth and just wipe it off.

Vinegar works for removing sticker residue if alcohol doesn't do the job.

x220 or x230? I am not a fan of chicklet keyboards x230 have. I know it's possible to switch x220 keyboard with x230 but if I can spare the hassle by just buying x220 then it's fine. Older CPU on x220 should not be a problem as I plan on light linux use. Are there any advantages x230 has over x220 that I may not know about?

X230 has USB 3.0 on all models while the X220 only has it on those with i7s.

Found someone selling an Elitebook 8770w for $260. It's not a dream color screen, has an i7 3630 QM, 16GB of RAM, a DVD drive (can be replaced with a 3rd hard drive easily), and a 128GB SSD (2nd drive caddy is empty). Battery needs replacing.

How is the screen on a X200t compared to a AFFS screen in the regular X200? My gf wants to get an X200t because of the drawing capabilities and the "cuter look" but I chose an X200 because I think it's more sturdy.

Look on AliExpress. Though, I can't vouch for the quality or authenticity on the products sold there, as I've had some unpleasant experiences buying parts for an X200 also there (goods came broken or were just repainted/refurbished old used parts).

how shitty is x220i i3-2310m compared with x220 i5-2520M in browsing and 720p videos?

Anyone had issues with the FN keys stop working? Just got an x220 and after fucking around with it all that works is the numlock and the thinklight.

I wouldn't go for less than an i7 from that gen. I wouldn't even get an i3 or i5 from the 3000's.

When they are in a decent condition they aren't that bad. But if they are used a lot they are awful. My friend has a consumer toy with a similar hinge(anus R1F) and he can't even draw on it without having to hold it. My X41t was mostly used as a server by the previous owner so it's pretty tight and comfy.

15" and 17" is literally overcompensation. I get the performance of a 15" in a 14" chassis with the added benefit of portability. If i don't need more than 2 threads i just carry an X60.

What's the most powerful thinkpad if I want the full free as in freedom experience? I don't need egpu.
~14" 1080p IPS would be perfect, I can do stuff such as replacing the screen or keyboard, but I'd rather avoid soldering as I only have a shitty soldering iron.
Ocassionally watching anime/movies and listening to music (I have an ultra portable usb dac, so sound doesn't matter), mostly programming and browsing the web.
Bonus points for being lightweight, 4 physical cores, ram expandable to 16GB, two separate hard drives (I sometimes need windoze for uni/work and I'd rather use my bios to dualboot so that windows won't break my bootloader every update) and 4+ hours battery.
1gb network adapter and a DP/miniDP (eh, I guess that HDMI is also fine) are a must.
Country: Poland (I can oder from abroad if necessary)
Budget: 1000$ total would be neat, but that's expandable.
Currently have a dell latitude 3440 (2c4t i5, 8gb), it meets my HW expextations but screen is utter shit and keyboard and touchpad are acceptable at most.
I have a pile of 2.5" SSDs laying around, I can download more ram.
Never had a thinkpad before, but some of my friends do and I'm getting envy.

First, 15 is exactly as portable as a 13 in that they require a dedicated bag or backpack, so unless you are literally a purse-carrying female it shouldn't matter. This is why Apple has their smaller laptops. Females.
Second, working on a 13 is an actual nightmare when you are doing more than sshing into a server. I don't expect someone who doesn't need more than 2 threads to understand. Just know that the world despises you, and people like you.

_61's can use up to 8GB RAM but it's DDR2 which can be expensive getting 2x4GB. I think every 61 but the X you can upgrade the CPU to a T9900 (P98/9600 for better battery life) and flash middleton's BIOS for SATA II and AC wifi.
