I'm not that poster, but i haven't found a better way to navigate and manage a lot of pictures.
Of course there are ways to display images in terminal emulators, but those are basically just an ugly hack and they don't do thumbnails anyway.
Image viewers are another topic, but they don't exactly make your life easier, when most can't even do their basic job at displaying an image well enough.
I use my shell for everything else and it's much better, but for pictures, sadly it just doesn't cut it.

Thanks user, however it looks just like KDE and can be configured however you want for better or worse. KDE neon just gives you the lastest KDE on top of rock solid Ubuntu LTS. The icons are nice, they're Papirus(-Light, because my panel and windows are light)

the anime, color scheme (wishing it was 1996 again), and the dock are all things I dislike.
I also don't like the music tastes of this poster or the strange practice of moving menu bars to a top bar and the idea of a top bar in general. Look up Fitt's Law and you'll see why top bars are gay. Furthermore, this poster uses software I don't like - namely Firefox. The last thing I will tell you is that his ``powerline'' theme is broken and looks like shit because the triangle doesn't line up with the square.

Also his (gender unknown sorry if this offends) discord icon looks really bad in the system tray

Fitt's Law doesn't say top bars are bad, top bars are great because they provide infinite vertical space for you to hit as you come up against the top of the monitor, instead of having to be precise and hit a square in the middle of the monitor for instance.

I hid my steam and Telgram icons and then opened Discord so it wasn't hidden, that's a fair criticism. I don't see what's wrong with Firefox, I used to use Chrome but the ol' Fox has really caught up to it while retaining some of the stuff that makes it better. So I switched back.

You do make use of the bottom of the screen for easy to reach targets, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just don't tell me you're losing something you (and most people with large monitors, they hardly ever maximize shit) don't ever use with a top bar.

Now, if you're posting a 1366x768 desktop and maximizing everything I could see where you're coming from, but you're not losing anything with a top bar, and gaining an menu with essentially infinite (one-way) vertical width.

Then say that, don't resort to spurious arguments about Fitt's Law when the macOS top bar (and all top bars inspired by it) was designed with it in mind. Just say you don't like it, that's fine.
