If implemented correctly, it could totally upend the broadband industry. People will actually have choices and options again, and companies will actually have to compete again.
Problem is, nothing ever actually goes right. 5G will flop and probably just be used as 4G 2.0.

The latency is lower. At least for high frequency 5G. Low frequency 5g is just a powergrab by Verizon to get frequencies that have been reserved for weather forecasting.

by far the biggest advantage of 5g is the number of devices you can connect, which allows large gatherings and busy areas to be served much better. this is really the main reason for 5g deployment. you can tell who knows about 5g and who doesn't whether they mention this or not.
