Just installed it today. It's looking great so far, it ironically has more features than YouTube Premium lmao (background playing and downloading) and isn't bloated, which is nice.

Also, the subscription option without a YouTube account is appreciated, exactly what I've been looking for.

The one gripe i have with this otherwise marvellous piece of software is the subscriptions - recent not being sorted by upload date, which apparently is WONTFIX, because the dev doesn't want to use yt apis

Have you ever used newpipe? The subscriptions feed sucks. Instead of being logically ordered by most recent, the videos or in an order decided by god knows what.
Pull request #2309 on the newpipe github introduces a better subscription feed, similar to skytube's one.
This is the only thing that keeps me to using skytube instead of NewPipe.

I know but it will get fixed someday. Newpipe is better than Skytube except for that one thing.
