what if someone wrote a CLI Jow Forums client and used one of those ASCII art libraries to display images

if you want to find text boards and other weird old sites, check out peelopaalu.neocities.org. the user who has it was pretty chill when I emailed him to suggest a few links for his site a couple of days ago. he has txtchan and a few others listed, but he probably knows of a few more if you ask him.

Guardian of Forever (guardian.synchro.net) is pretty neat, though last time I visited the tech section was a tad slow, even for a BBS. Tons of cool shit to mess around with, though.

If you're the user who requested using aalib for image to ASCII conversion, I've update the repo. I've also fixed it to use the current subdomains for the CDN.

No plans to update to Python 3 because one of the modules it depends on is dead. I made that project in less than a day back in 2014 as a joke. Didn't expect anyone to actually use it.

No one was using them and when they were used it was EXTREMELY low quality posting, even more so then Jow Forums's image boards.
They did have a hay day for the first 2-3 years they were around, but after that it was a shit show.
