Has anyone actually had an SSD fail? I've had an old ass 128gb Samsung as my OS drive for like 8 years and it's still going strong. I did have 2 in a row DOA but that doesn't really count as a drive failing.

Yes, had a 840 evo fail on me.
IIRC, it was very sudden. like a bunch of random errors, then the computer won't post. all in the span of 4 hours.
Kinda scared that I had a second SSD fail... doesn't show up after a power loss...

Weird. You'd think an OS drive would fail much faster but maybe I've just gotten lucky. I had a 1TB Samsung let smoke out after booting for the firs time. Store didn't have more in stock so a 1TB Kingston replaced it and the BIOS wouldn't even recognize it. Ended with with some no name 2TB that's been fine for 2 years.
I keep everything backed up on a bunch of old HDDs so I don't really give a shit if a SSD fails except for the time lost getting shit running again.
>processor noclips through the socket
all sorts of OCZ, some fake intels off amazon, smattering of samsung, a few kingston but to be fair they were writing all day for years, had too few patriot to see fail.
I've seen all brands of SSD fail really. mushkin, back in the day was a big one with ocz. but I used to sell them and now i'm mopping up mistakes of old sysadmins at work. who the fuck puts OCZ into critical servers
this is why you use the AMD sanctioned driver on your threadripper user

What's the point of decrypting public key?

SSD didn't exist until like 2015

Yep.
Best way to make an ssd fail, is suspend and drain the battery.
nope. the fucking ancient 64gb one I bought for my OS partition back then is still running, just in my mom's laptop.
that's one sexy tummy
