Literally any competitor software you cunt. The only remotely non-trivial thing on that list is mobile OS.

i basically don't rely on online services or unified platforms and anything google i use is by force i do everything manually

Go to privacytools.io and perhaps prism-break.org to get ideas. There are lots of alternatives.

Search - Startpage (Google proxied through a 3rd party for better protection, bubbling etc), DuckduckGo, Searx instances etc...
Browser - Firefox is the only real answer. Anything based on Chromium is still basically fostering Google's dev ideology for the net. Firefox (Quantum version or later) is best, or you can use whatever modded version you want or derivative.
Mobile OS - Android is still fine, but use AOSP and preferably LineageOS based ROMs. LineageOS + MicroG is probably the best for usability and full features,. FDroid for apps when possible, then using YalpStore and whatnot when it isn't, stick to as much open source as you can.
Email - Tons of options. Selfhost, ProtonMail, any of the open source standards compliant encrypted mail setups out there.
Maps - OpenStreetMap and evertything based upon it. OSMAND for android etc. Lots of good stuff here
Cloud Storage - NextCloud is the best option for a fuckload of different things and has the most features , but it all comes down to individual needs. SyncThing and SyncAny can sync stuff as you need it. There are also other hosts, Kolab etc
Celendar Tasks Scheduling - WebDAV, CalDAV etc.. whatever apps you want. NextCloud. Mozilla Thunderbird email client w/LIghtning addon for tasks/calendaring etc. Depends how you want things et up , web or not etc
VideoHosting - MediaGoblin instance of your own, or a PeerTube instance somewhere for video.
Messaging - Matrix.org network (use Riot.im client first of all) for Discord like full featured experience, also try Wire (alternative for Skype types and other messengers), and Signal (alternative for anything phone number based like whatsapp or SMS etc). XMPP is alsoavailable along with many others.

SO yeah..that's a start.

thanks user. privacytools.io looks super helpful

YouTube, with AdBlocker. It's a loss leader for Google. They're not making money from it, but I'll gladly prevent them from making more from me.

I've been very happy switching to Apple. Google makes money from user's information so by default they don't have my interests in mind. I would rather pay the Apple tax and be left alone. Microsoft is only good for video games which I don't play so I don't care. I have no clue what they're doing with Windows and I doubt they do either.

Relax, buddy. There's not many search engine alternatives. Everyone agrees that Google does it the best. I doubt most people even know there's another search engine.

Bing is an alternative but I don't know about that. I'm sure it's not that bad, but Microsoft is egregious with how they handle Windows 10. The ads, telemetry, etc. They're just Google's special little brother. I hear their porn search is best in class so at least they have that going.

Yandex? I don't know how I feel about the Russian government collecting all my information but they don't cooperate with the United States so that could be a benefit.

What else would be considered a search engine? Yahoo? They've been making poor business decisions since they refused to buy Google for pennies, bought Tumblr, and all that. I don't think they even know what they're doing anymore. Their homepage is filled with Buzzfeed-type clickbait trash. Plus... "Uh-oh... This account has been deactivated due to inactivity, but we would love to welcome you back! Click Sign up below to create your new account." So fuck them. Thanks Yahoo for deleting my old email without warning and making me lose years of shit.

The only other search engine is just sitting in wikipedia.org and searching for what you want.

The act of using a search engine is the act of allowing someone else to control your information feed

How is Bing as a search engine? Does it have noticeable flaws? Does it give you the results you want or do you end up having to refine your search to get better results?

It works fine in most cases. I haven't noticed any major flaw or difference from what you get with google.

It's actually image search I have issues with sometimes. They return fewer results than google.

Originally I wanted to use Qwant, which is based in Europe, so more privacy options, but I heard that their backend actually uses Bing to get search results. So I thought "I might as well use bing".

But I hope I can find some non-botnet search engine in the future. I've tried other alternatives, but they're either fake or kinda mediocre.

I agree. You can't escape it. I don't think believes Prophet Stallman's philosophy unironically. You'd be delusional to do so. You can NEVER know what's going on behind closed doors. Even if code is open sourced you don't know if that's the code running on the servers. You don't know what corporations believe or do aside from what they tell you. On top of human error and all that.

I'm satisfied with Apple because they're the least worst out of the alternatives for me. The benefit of what I gain from their products outweighs the negatives that may come with it so I am willing to accept them. Plus, I can't control what other companies do with my information or their incompetent employees. I remember deleting PayPal because I called them for an issue and the pea brain fuck read out my entire social security number to "confirm" it was me. While I heard other support people in the background. Which, for one, means some dumbfuck cunt knows my FULL social security number WITHOUT needing to have special access and it also means that PayPal doesn't just show them the last 4 digits, which they should at the least. I can't describe how furious I was. It would be a nightmare for anyone if their number was stolen.

When I called Apple they couldn't even access any of my information without me giving them a randomly generated one time use PIN. They even told me how to disable extra features if I wanted more privacy at the loss of convenience. They have been the highest quality customer server. Plus support is handled by white people who live here. Not poos that I can't understand. So, take that for what you will, but it's better than most. I'd rather support a company that invests in the customer. Apple is at the top and still can afford proper support, but Google can't? I don't even think Google HAS a support number.

you realize this is almost meaningless in terms of tracking/privacy right? you might as well just sign in if you're going to use the services, you'll get additional functionality and you're being tracked either way
