A DIY funny looking laptop with a tiny ass screen a weak cpu and a mechanical keyboard.

Thinking more about it i'm thinking it'd be better to ditch trying to combine the two ideas, just build a portable cluster and a portable pi in milsurp cases and control one with the other.
The cases are easy to come by, the government is constantly liquidating them. you can usually find some still in decent condition.
It'd be the same process as one would go about building a normal pi cluster, though i'd want liquid cooling(overkill, but it's still cool and easy to do with these so why not) and build a small control panel(out of plywood, i'm cheap) for power and necessary ventilation at the top, (12v fan mounted with vent holes drilled) accessible only when the case is propped open. this is so it can still be dunked and stay watertight.

and then for the portable pi i've done something similar before, just using a cheap lcd, the smallest keyboard i could find with its casing removed, a 3b, tiny wireless mouse, a couple of switches, radioshack battery holder (rechargeable AAs was the most available to me at the time. had them on hand and i worked right by the last radioshack in my area at the time) and a milsurp case originally used for optics of some sort. it wasn't the NVG one, it was smaller and black.

and for the cluster, i think make has a guide on setting a basic one up.

I wish we were living in real cyberpunk instead of just boring dystopia.

Now that's a cyberdeck. I love the stylings of reddit style cyberdecks but they really need to have HUDs to be what Gibson described. Otherwise they are just regular computers albeit retro styled.
