by the time it releases the rtx 2070 will be $150

Sirs buy Nvidia best gpoo runs cool in hot Punjat yes?

The gtx 1070 has been out for 4 years and it's still not 150 bucks.

>THE POWER OF THE PLAYSTATION
>PS2 will have TOY STORY GRAPHICS!
>PS3 is a SUPERCOMPUTER POWER OF THE CELL!
>PS4 is a SUPERCHARGED PC ARCHITECTURE
Oh I'm SURE the PS5 will be that fast

No, I have a 2080 Ti. By the time this comes out I may have upgraded yet again since I could certainly use even more performance. Consoles are forever behind.

By late 2020 we'll probably have a RTX 3080 range on a new node. Most of the reason that the PS5 will be able to compete is because a lot of transistors on the 2080 die are dedicated to raytracing and other similar functions and not traditional rasterization. Primarily I think because there's not a lot of reason to just keep dumping transistors into that, those cards can already easily run 4k.

So the difference really comes with what are the rest spent on and that's ray tracing and other similar functions that can use those specific parts of the die. I expect that any kind of RTX3080 would probably have the same amount of the die dedicated to rasterization as the 2080 does, for basic non ray traced games you just dont need that additional power. Instead they will increase the performance of ray tracing and make it acceptable performance in the mainstream and that'll be when PCs leave behind consoles. Because they'll be able to finally do 4k and 60fps and all these things the PC can do, but we'll be ahead doing Raytracing and all this other advanced shit that they just can't do at all.

>Super efficient software system outperforms a generic software system meant for cross-platform compatibility on similar or inferior hardware
Shocking.

The PS4 was rumoured to have an insane GPU that would kill every computer in the universe and make every PC gamer cream themselves in awe and jealousy etc etc

In the end it launched with a GPU similar to the 7850, which was a mid-high $250 GPU. Except that the 7850 was launched 2 years earlier than the PS4.

The RTX 2070 is also a mid-high GPU, but it was launched last year. PS5 is expected... next year.

>BRUH omg DUDE like it is the 2070 SUPER bruh like SUPER dude not the normal 2070 like BRUH this one is like SUPER like bruh dude 11 (ELEVEN) tentacle-flops of performance bruh like dude that is like SO MANY tentacle-flops BRUH

>PS2 will have TOY STORY GRAPHICS
youtube.com/watch?v=ApqS4jjzaWc

who is laughing now, uh?

Yes, of course some *magic* GPU will suddenly come into existence that *magically* will turn the ordinary computer that the Playstation basically is into a *magical* gaming machine, which outperforms high end gaming rigs.
And all of that for a cost that makes Sony not bankrupt if they are selling at a competitive price.

Hardware isn't magic.
What are these people thinking?

Just like we got btfo'd by ps4?

The sad thing is there are some adults that buy consoles, and unironically believe this kind of bullshit.

>A-a-are we going to get BTFO bros???
who gives a shit?
more power for less money is always good.
I'm glad to have skipped PS4.

BTFO no, but if it comes out at ~$400, it's a really good value. I wouldn't buy one personally, but it certainly wouldn't be a bad option for people. That's assuming it actually is on par with a 2070S

Those of you still playing on 1080p have absolutely been blown the fuck out by consoles lmao.

It's just marketing bullshit as always

The HD 7870 (not 7850) was around $220 when it launched.

The jump to the PS5 is much bigger than the jumps from the PS2 to 3 to 4. The hardware is much much better.

When the PS4 launched it was one of the only HSA compliant SoCs in existence. It still is one of the only high performance APUs with true HSA features, all the others beint other console APUs, and the one semi-custom APU that AMD made for that Chinese firm for domestic systems there.

the console APUs this time around will probably be 7nm EUV parts, so it'd be expected that they clock slightly better than the DUV parts we've seen thus far.

Consoles have always been a "good choice" for casual gamers who don't buy many games.
But if you buy many games it is not really worth it.

By then Nvidia will already have released their RTX 3000 series at 7nm.

We can expect the RTX 3060 to be more powerful than the RTX 2070 super.

And the RTX 3070 will be just as strong as the RTX 2080 ti.

And the RTX 3080 ti will be at least twice as powerful as the RTX2070.

>4:48
very cool.

Playstations are essential for gamers due to their big library of exclusives

seething Nvidiot shareholder

go play on your Nvidiot Tegra housefire nintendo switch with 480p 25fps graphics

>engineering samples

Yeah come back in half a year when they start to finalize and actually tell you.

kek

>due to their big library of exclusives
PC has a lot more exclusives and more interesting ones then "generic third/first person shooter" at that.

*tidus laugh*
no

>1080p
Who needs more than that?

>Those of you still playing on 1080p
How many PS4 Games run at 1080p at 60FPS, which aren't 2D Platformers?

>nvidiot in denial about the 5700xt

Didn't read. Don't be a dull killjoy.

has nvidia's kikery fried your brain? why does this seem improbable?

1) They utterly misunderstood what FLOPS mean
2) "According to Twitter user Is a Parrot, if the PS5 GPU does end up running at 2GHz it will equate to 9.2 teraflops of performance on RDNA, or the equivalent of 14 teraflops on GCN" - that's if the PS5 has 2304 shaders (36CU = RX 5700)
3) It's utterly retarded to arbitrarily convert FLOPS between architectures like that
4) RX 5700 running at 2GHz will consume ~200W
5) 200W just for the graphics. In an APU. In a home console. Riiiighttt

We've gone through this garbage with every release since the PS2 at least. Console tards never learn.

??

It's not a cinematic experience, so he couldn't concentrate for the seconds necessary to read your post.

It will be a GTX 1650 at best, you know very well Sony will use a cheap APU at best.

If they use a expensive model they would have to sell it for $500-700 making the console pointless for 90% of the market.

yep. this even happened with the Switch headlines saying 'NX GPU Outperforms 980'

>8 core zen2
>5700XT+ graphics
How are they gonna justify the price?

Hopefully this means Nvidia will drop their fucking prices...

they say that EVERYTIME they release a console
guess what the outcome will be.. again..

Based consolebros win again. We ALWAYS win.

they sell the console at a loss to gain market share, just like the ps4, and 3, and 2.

Pretty much this. The real money is made from the game deals they have

And the prices the people who buy the games have to pay.
Which is why buying a console is an awful idea if you plan on buying many games.

Bruh, games on $60 on PC as well. Was that supposed to be a gotcha'?

I'd wager 700$, even with a loss, if it launches today.
Now maybe their zen chip is bottom of the barel stuff AMD would just throw away if not for consoles, but graphics is another story.

And the subscription fee as I recall, or have they dropped that?

Do they use the mobile version of the components, or whatever laptops and shit run on, they clearly don't have the ventilation of desktops to properly operate at peak performance or anything.

what?

>Those of you still playing on 1080p
What does that even mean? Games aren't charged at a fixed price and for each console game sold 10 bucks or something like that go to Sony and that is what the consumer pays.
Which is why the "budget section" in my local store has PS games for 20 and PC games for 10, this isn't rocket science.

>Was that supposed to be a gotcha'?
No, it was an elaboration on Sony's Business Modell.

how is this a bad thing? faster consoles means devs have less need to scale back game graphics so they won't lag on them.

and playstation plus/xbox gold (monthly fee in order to get multiplayer functionality)

and also outrageous game prices (60 bucks)

It's not just about the price, you retards. Think about the power consumption. 200W graphics + 8 Zen2 cores + RAM (if not GDDR6, HBM2) + SSD + Blu-ray drive + everything you need in a console. You think they'd want to put a 500W power brick in there? If it REALLY is 2GHz, obviously it won't have 36CUs, which means it will have much less raw power than what this retard is saying. As usual custom hardware implementation unique to the PS5, plus low-level API optimisation etc will be the things that determine the actual performance

>how is this a bad thing?
It has nothing to do with reality, no Console will outperform a contemporary high end gaming PC.
This is baiting Console gaymers, which happens literally every console Generation.

PS4 was supposed to be "4K gaming", but in the end it wasn't even Full HD gaming at 60 FPS.

Navi GPU with better than 2070S performance will melt the console housing, kek.
