Why are wireless headphones becoming so popular?

Why are wireless headphones becoming so popular?
Do people really like listening to music that sounds like it's being played through a Skype call? Do people actually enjoy latency that can be measured in seconds and not milliseconds? Do people actually like paying more just to have another non-repairable device that you need to keep charged?

Or are people just deaf and/or retarded?

> Or are people just deaf and/or retarded?
I'm gonna go with yeah.
Also, Apple killed the headphone jack with no good alternative available in place (i.e. audio over USB which is what the industry should have switched to long ago) so they're forced to go to wireless.

Wireless got a lot better in the past few years, now it sounds more or less exactly like wired and the extra latency is less than 200ms. I still prefer having to deal with wires rather than having to charge, though.

And yeah, my hearing is no good.

I have wireless ones, that you can use with a headphone jack if you want to. Those apple asspods are the meme here.

Some phones like the mi a1 have a really powerful headphone amp built in, so there is a lot of humming on low impedance in-ear headphones, which makes listening to music on those unbearable.

Charging them onces every 3-4 days is better than having a cable that breaks after a year.

Even decent Bluetooth devices have great sound quality with delays of just milliseconds. We don't live in 2005 anymore.

>Charging them onces every 3-4 days
>days
you mean hours?

It's not 2007 anymore, earbuds are a really good invention, wireless is the future, I know autist don't like change, deal with it. Wireless headphones sound good if you don't go for 10$ Walmart ones.

It will get better each year, wires are obsolete.

the fuck are you on about
wireless headphones sound great
no one cares about your $10,000 iem setup with eq, genuine nippon folded player, and amp rubber banded to each other
literally no one

>thinking wireless is still shit

have you ever owned wireless headphones manufactured in the last few years?

I have a pair of Jabras, they sound great, I dont need perfection when I'm running or doing things. Bieng able to have music playing in my car and once I get out I can pop them in is incredibly convenient. Also, the fact they can let me hear what's going on around me is nice. The charging case gives me a lot of life so I'm never worried about it running out, unless your a poorfag. Hell if you need a charge on the go that badly get yourself a portable battery like Anker, its saved me on trips.

Your complaint about sound is negligible to me. If I wanted premier sound I'd use my home setup. Anywhere else will have distraction and interference anyways. Then again, I'm interested in seeing if they can find the next step to evolve bone conduction headphones. Currently they are leagues behind regular headphones wired or not, but it could be a more immersive experience, especially if they sat correctly on the ears.

enjoy tossing your headphones every two years

Bluetooth adapter + wired earphones is top combo. Lasts you an entire day, the earphones remain light, and you can still listen using the wire if you want to.

I usually prefer wired but wireless comes in handy while I'm cooking or cleaning

>I have a thing
>This is how often I charge a thing
>>NO YOU'RE LYING YOU'RE WRONG THIS CONFLICTS WITH MY BELIEFS

Zoomers don't actually listen to music it's just a way for them to avoid talking

>earbuds are a good invention
objectively wrong opinion only held by people with no taste in music

>do sports
>wires get tangled and tear off in two seconds
It's only dumb for desktops on account of the battery.

My headphones can be used with bluetooth or wired and I use whatever suits the situation. All the music on my DAP is lossless so it usually sounds just fine when re-encoded to lossy bluetooth audio.
>Do people actually like paying more just to have another non-repairable device that you need to keep charged?
Charge lasts pretty long and if it dies I can use it wired. Even wired I use battery though because I like active noise cancelling while on the bus. I do hate that I can't replace the battery (easily) on mine.
Do people really like listening to music that sounds like it's being played through a Skype call?
You should really try out some modern mid to high tier headphones user. You will be pleasantly surprised.

adopting bluetooth is as stupid as giving apple any status power

>like it's being played through a Skype call?
jesus christ you can't be any more facetious than this

old bluetooth audio actually was that bad but that was in 2008 before bluetooth for music was even supported officially

I use it when working out at the gym, extremely underrated not having to do exercises with a cables hanging or having to listen to that fag grunting while working out his biceps

its not 2010 anymore, wireless headphones are a lot better now. Fuck wires.

The latency is the absolute worse.

You boomers are so fucking clueless it hurts.

Oh cool another device I have to charge

The future is ubiquitous wireless charging where every surface, every dresser, every desk, has an induction coil in it

You don't have to charge your devices because they charge literally whenever you put them down

Yea nah it's not. That's just dumb

>The future is ubiquitous wireless charging where every surface, every dresser, every desk, has an induction coil in it
That will never happen because it's a waste of material and rigging up every piece of furniture to the mains is a pain in the ass. If wireless charging ever manages to get as efficient as wired you will still most likely have maybe two large charging surfaces.

>being this lazy

What's the problem? The battery lasts more than 20 hours, you can leave it charging when going to sleep.

They sound pretty bland though, especially without ANC

I've done it in my livingroom and bedroom it's fucking god tier
>it's a waste of material
poorfag
>muh efficiency
poorfag with ludicrously expensive electricity
>muhviroment
poorfag who doesn't live right next to a hydrodam

the REAL future is wireless distance charging.
energy supplied directly to your devices as cell signal to a phone.
no induction, no waiting, no dead batteries ever

Wireless headphones are good if you're watching porn or you are running outside. Otherwise I don't understand why anyone would use them.

physics would like to have a word with you

reduce power consumption and increase broadcast power until I can charge over wifi with a phone sized antenna

They're already working on that tech. This is old news.

Why do you care if your phone says 2:45 when the song is actually on 2:43?

>do sports
>use good headphones
wew, that was so difficult

>phone falls out of pocket
>dies

seethecopesex is having sex to cope with how much you're seething

>try to watch video with headphones on
>fucking stroke out from the cancer that is audio delay

>physics
neo would like to have a word with you

>audio delay
if you purchase headphones from 2011.

I was a hardcore cablefag but my sansa clip died, so for my shitbox car I bought a cheap bluetooth 4.0 receiver, and I can't tell the quality difference from using the aux cable directly. Connection is solid and it's constantly plugged to the car's 12v.

i for one love my bluetooth apple airpods. thanks to their fastcharge feature, i can listen to them all day

a whip from my thicc cable could kill you zoomers

did you read the question I replied to

There is literally zero delay with Bluetooth headphones when watching video because iOS and Android both offset the video a little bit to compensate for the latency. It moves the video forward to match the audio.

The same applies to music as well.
Latency only really appears with Bluetooth when dealing with live audio, like playing video games or music making apps.
Even then, the latency is pretty minimal enough to be negligible, especially with Bluetooth 5.0 where it becomes pretty much indistinguishable from wires.

I went to a 5below recently and they actually had $5 bluetooth earbuds. WTF, can someone explain how this is possible? I was told bluetooth earbuds would never be that cheap because they contain more than just wires and tiny speakers.

You make the quality worse and worse until you can get all the extra shit you need in there.

Having used wired headphones since the 90s you're full of shit
There is no difference in audio quality between low end headphones
My $60 wireless are just as good as $60 wired headphones
Virgin

chinks

>my trash is as good as my other trash
lol?

I actually prefer my mdr1000xm3 over my he6xx and hifiman arya for a good chunk of my music. Mainly punk rock music which is generally shitty quality.

Try not being poor for once, faggot.

>ye I'm an audiophile how could you tell
>fails blind tests between piece of shit dacs and $2000 dacs
>fails blind test between garbage low nitrate encodings and flac
>fails blind tests between entry and high end multi thousand dollar headphones

Audiophiles are mentally ill

Enjoy cancer.

Ill never stop using wires, fuck wireless and fuck niggers

>$60
>low-end
are you rich? if that's low-end then what the fuck is $15 or $5?

I only use them for working out and kickboxing practice. Cables are clumsy af when you're doing any physical exercise.
If I want to listen to music at home I don't use headphones at all because I'm not autistic.

>what the fuck is $15 or $5?
chink trash

how would you even notice latency while listening to music lmao

Sound quality is the same. Price is no longer an issue. Audio quality is no longer an issue. No more snagging on doorknobs or fraying. No more snap crackle pop. No more having to carry your phone with you even if you're only moving a few feet. 1 hour charge lasts days.
I see literally nothing wrong with moving toward wireless.
Once the latency issue is knocked out, 3.5mm will become inferior.

>Sound quality is the same.
Only if you're listening to highly compressed YouTube trash.

>companies force phones out with no headphone jack
>OP: WHY ARE YOU CONSUMERS SO STUPID

What a shirty thread OP.

People are dumb, unrefined, and incapable of recognizing nuances. Same idiots that say Android UI is just as smooth as iOS.

pretty sure DNA doesn't like having any form of energy passing through it

trash

Consumers have a choice to not buy phones that don't have headphone jacks.
Consumers have a choice to just use dongles even if they do buy a phone without a headphone jack.
Consumers chose to go the wireless route anyway.

Unironically fuck consumers.

If anything you actually said was actually representative of the experience then you would be right in calling people deaf or retarded
But I’m reality most Bluetooth headphones are fine, just fine, sure wired headphones of the same or even lesser price will sound better but when you are just trying to drown out the rest of the world it’s nice not having to deal with wires

>tfw apple activates the 5G connection on apple airpods and your head starts vibrating and warming up

Attached: aaaaaaahhhhhh.png (680x708, 387K)

Some headphones can last 70 hours on a charge.

Buy a DAP like you were meant to before Steve Jobs made you think that all you need is a phone.

>Do people really like listening to music that sounds like it's being played through a Skype call?
It sounds fine, unless you're using some crappy chinkphone.

Attached: bluetooth audio.jpg (754x423, 55K)

>Same idiots that say Android UI is just as smooth as iOS.
iOS interface is shit. Android may hiccup a little, but I find it much more usable, and you can customize things by simply installing a launcher.

T. someone who never leaves home

>that cut off on wawei
They deserve to be sanctioned to hell

you can just use an arm strap though, i use one for my phone so it doesn't fall off when i run while listening to music

dac in my bluetooth headphones (plantronics) sounds better than dac in my phone (xiaomi).

I used to think like this until I actually tried them. They sound fine and the latency is easily compensated for. Love my galaxy buds and my next desktop headphones will be wireless once there's something suitable for gaming that isn't gaymur.

>Faggot makes a point
>ad hominem attacks
I'm not him but calling him a poorfag to defend your consumerism is silly. You should've stopped your post at
>Fucking God tier.

I wear my apple earpods in the shower

I listen to Chopin with my apple ear pods
