>why yes I do want it to take 50x the time to figure out what the videos are
And no you're not an exception to biology that infers information faster from text than a picture

why even load the fuckin video when the title is all you want

It was fine with preview images, just before everyone became a clickbait whore

Actually the thumbnails should be randomized at all times, no need to remove them

Did you not even look at that before you posted it?

There's an extension that lets you disable custom thumbnails.

if there was whitespace between the text on the right it could work. reason being its easier to make out... that or add a separator

what is it called

The YouTube API doesn't say whether the uploader used a custom thumbnail

Google "youtube clickbait remover", there's a ghacks article about it.

It still however generate the preview regardless of whether the uploader used a custom thumbnail or not.

Invidious has this option to disable thumbnails. also, the home page on YT is cancer.

It's more fun that way.

You can't even Rick Roll anymore. Marketing is cancer.

already exists
invidio.us

>custom thumbnails

It's a matter of the site opting you in to regular sized or larger sized thumbnails, retard. There's nothing custom or targeted clickbait about it.

>these are the people who are shitting on Apple design
Lmao

please die you brainless liberal

disable the polymer

>wasting space

This is what it actually should look like.

>not using get me old youtube + a custom style
This is objectively speaking the best looking and only usable way to use Youtube.

Fuck this looks good

>vidlii
Based

Revert it to the old style.

Video thumbnails are dumb clickbait shit that, at best, simply repeats what the title already explains much better.

thumbnails are an excellent way to visually filter out anything that looks like clickbait
similar to how ALL CAPS works

Moron, titles are informative only because thumbnails exist to give you a wealth of information at a glance. Take away the thumbnail and all titles will just be "CLICK HERE!! FUNNIEST THING EVAR!!!!!!!!!" because nobody is going to sift through a dozen essays.

Attached: Capture.png (1313x91, 25K)

Titles are even bigger clickbait because they can be even more vague.

The reason the titles say that is because the thumbnail enables clickbait in the first place. Nobody would click on the title you just gave as an example unless there was some retard giving an over-exaggerated face in the thumbnail. This is how Youtube worked back when the thumbnail was just a snipet of the video.

No they can't, they can either be informative or they can not, meaning the ones that aren't are clickbait. No ifs, ands, or buts.

If this was true then they wouldn't default to clickbait. Now that content creators are able to create any thumbnail they want (yes, you could have made the first frame your thumbnail of choice, but most YT channels didn't and still don't know this), they just make clickbait.

>Nobody would click
Except they do.

That's cute, now greentext the whole sentence.

>That's cute, now greentext the whole sentence.
This is how dumb you are.

NO U

Here, we'll greentext the whole sentence since you're a retard.
>Nobody would click on the title you just gave as an example unless there was some retard giving an over-exaggerated face in the thumbnail.

Nobody clicks on stupid titles unless the thumbnail actually clickbaits in the first place. The thumbnail is to blame. And no,
Attracts exactly zero clicks.

Put "CLICK HERE FUNNIEST THING EVER" in the trending garbage in the OP and guess what I'm clicking? You've given me next to nothing to narrow down what anything else is, so I'm going with "ClICK HERE."

>before everyone became a clickbait whore
becoming a clickbait whore is an economic incentive.
obviously greedy faggots will always win over everyone else.
if you take away the economic incentive (i.e. by blocking ads or distributing over decentralized platforms) then there will be no clickbait.

No shit, Sherlock, and your small brain can't figure out that the fact that thumbnails are easier to make clickbaitable is the problem. You can even change the thumbnail after publishing the video, now. Previously you were required to just take a frame from the video and most people did not know they could put a clickbait frame on their video.

There was a barrier to entry, getting rid of the useless thumbnail challenges your small brain, yes, but it indisputably reduces clickbait at the same time.

>a website full of rickrolls

>openingly admitting you can't figure out clickbait titles

Get better tastes, faggot.

>thumbnails are an excellent way to visually filter out anything that looks like clickbait
good point

Not an argument, I win.

hello sir, please share your uMatrix config sir, thank you sir.

fpbp
OP should kill himself

>I JUST FUCKING DIED CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE

No, what should happen instead is youtube should adopt the camwhore sites' design and have active preview of the video playing on mouseover or directly just playing instead of a thumbnail, with it being sped up x20 without sound to easily show us the whole content and have us decide whether it was clickbait or not. If the content fits our desire of no-clickbait, we click and give them views/ad money. That way, short videos that are so sped up that they end up a couple of frames, boring fags talking to the camera in the same position and generally boring content will all have significantly reduced views, plus a large portion of the clickbait shaven off. Also optionally they should paint video titles with audible/brilliant or similar bullshit advertising inside in a slight shade of orange, because it is basically youtubers building up a brand and then renting ad space inside the video at the expense of both viewers' experience but also unpaid youtube bandwidth. If the site fills up with orange sponsored videos, people will slowly start laughing at the youtubers for being so pathetic and one by one, they'll eventually stop doing it out of shame or get ostracized by the bigger streamers for still trying to milk profit, all because of a colored title

Two very easy things to implement that fix 80% of youtube, yet will never be implemented because the site can be profitable without wasting capital on shit like this. Such is life under mediocre late capitalism where even the idiots are profitable because the market no longer filters inefficient agents

I am my text learning is my best form and !t visual learning/memory is my worst. I got IQ tested for real at a specialist psych office

You can put any picture in the thumbnail not related to the video.

This isn't learning, it's identification.
I can tell at a glance what each one of these is. (music/cover/dance cover/MMD cup/Vtuber gaming)
Without the thumbnails I would have to go though a hell of a lot of effort trying to interpolate a video from a bit of text.

Attached: Capture.png (1344x756, 1.15M)

please god someone add a feature that allows you to skip 1/5 the way into every video. I am tired of seeing cheesy intros. its actually a problem

Now you only need to give HOME's Resonance a listen.

You can do the same thing with the name you retarded monkey.

Would be easy if google were to label/categories their content but cant have that bc google wants to keep people watching same shit when you forget.

Would be easy with neural networks. Could have alternative titles. Alternative sortings. Beyond me why google hasnt.

>Would be easy if google were to label/categories their content
It doesn't know. The AI groups by human herds; it doesn't know the why of anything. If a bunch of weebs latch onto something off in left field it will be suggested to weebs who have a similar watch history to them. The suggestions are organic, not pigenholed by any concept of category.

just use m.youtube
