Yeah, there's a lot of stuff that gets shilled here, but most of it isn't driven by the same levels of ignorance and anger that seem to be behind the KDE and Brave shilling.

Gnome was almost dead and buried when ubuntu came along. And with it a generation of linux noob fanboys was born, and they thought they loved gnome, but really it was the orange and brown theme that appealed to them.
After some time ubuntu release kubuntu, which was utter trash. And of course, to the ubuntu noobs who had their first experience with KDE using this shit, it confirmed to them that gnome was far superior.
So never forget, the shit that is gnome probably wouldn't even exist today if not for ubuntu.

I can see having some widgets to monitor different things appropiate to whatever tasks you mightcreate a kde activity for.
I don't use the activities feature, because I mostly shitpost and create dank memes, but I still think it's a pretty cool thing.

Who seriously give a shit about about a kde music player, calender, mail, video player, pdf viewer, contact, android connection, video editor, graphic editor, etc when the kde core programs is so buggy and utter shit on lots of hardwares.
I just can't take them seriously until they stop wasting ressources where it does not make sense and there is already far better alternatives.
qt is already a fucking mess and kde add its own bloat, fix this shit then we can talk.
xfce and mate seem like the less retarded DEs out there that don't try to do everything for no reason.

KDE has a far better suite of apps than gnome.

I like cinnamon, you can install Boomerang's "Redmond" themes on there, which are basically just Windows themes. Pretty awesome, I have the Vista theme on mine and i get nostalgic every time i boot it up.

I liked the xfce that came with Xubuntu 16.04, but the new one is slightly weirder and more broken. I didn't want to fuck around with the settings so just went with KDE and turned off the window previews and compositor bullshit.
