Best phone to buy if I'm a washed up old has-been who's looking to make a comeback?

Attached: images (18).jpg (859x357, 17K)

is official lineageos for the xz1c a thing yet
fuck googleshit

gonna join the iphone gang now that samsung is ditching their jack & expandable storage too. is the XR alright or should i go straight to the XS?

Is there any compact borderless phone available? I can't find any, yet I'm sure there's a market for it.

Compact would be sub-5" (if borderless).

I pulled the trigger on the A70
>4500 mAh battery
>3.5mm jack
>expandable storage
>AMOLED display
>passable camera
>6GB of RAM
>$550 leafbux
I think it's the best you can do for the price in Canada. From what I gather chinkshit doesn't work on our 4G networks. Processor isn't the most powerful on the market but I'm still struggling to find a reason why or most other people need that.

massive piece of plastic kek

Attached: 7925e2c1-b9f8-4ff3-bcb3-1ceff5f742bb.jpg (250x243, 19K)

the xz2 compact is the last of its kind,

they dont make phones for us anymore, we are too small a market

I don't get why people would willingly go for a mid range phone like that over a discounted older flagship like the S8 or S9 lines which you can still find on Amazon for the sameish price. The only notable phone in the A series is the A80 because of the motorized camera, and it's still not worth a buy at full price.

battery life was the main factor for me, yeah you can get a refurbished flagship, but the battery life will be shit. Also the A70 is on sale for $150 off currently.

How bad are the unofficial builds of LineageOS on the Redmi Note 7?

Been out of the game for a while, have companies axed removable batteries? Was looking to buy a new phone but I can't find any recently made ones with removable batteries.

will the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro be any good`?

>paying 550$ for a smartphone.

yep

Chink shit is superior even in Canada, and certain models work just fine.

Mi9T is $400 leafbux and is a far superior phone that's closer to the S10 in comparison.

Bought Moto Z3play around 10 months ago, really enjoying it save for a few details.
>no headphone jack, comes with an adapter, still an annoyance.
>128gb memory, that's great, even has expandable storage. 6GB of RAM
>AMOLED display, looking good
>12MP camera, a bit of a letdown considering Xplay was 21MP (my past phone)
>fingerprint detector on the side, makes it easy and comfy to turn on the screen, to this day it hasn't detected wrongly anything other than my thumb
>battery lefts something to be desired with 3000 mAh, wouldn't be such a problem but the battery life has wore at least 15% off in these 10 months, which I find a lot from something that I charge one time a day tops. Maybe the battery mod could help in the future.
>also for some reason the battery display a little glichy like 3 months ago, for some reason it would show the same charge percentage for a long time until it was charged almost fully, really anoying and almost made me regret my purchase, but seems it got fixed in last Android patch 2 weeks ago
>really liked Moto mods so far, the JBLspeaker might just get the sound a little bit glitchy if you use the built-in equalizer, but other than that is great. Projector is top comfy, 480p but I can't ask a higher resolution for something that size, biggest concern there is that you need to be in a somewhat dark place or else you won't see shit. Gamepad is comfy too, just beat Paper Mario with it, planning to play some other psp and N64 games. Using Polaroid printer to build a albumlet, got a ton of paper sheets at a low price, quality is meh but hey, can print them in seconds so whatever. Got all mods for sale each, they are just getting a lot more cheaper, to the point the projector can be bought at 50 bucks. Speaker for came with phone.
>back is glossy so it will be a fingerprint magnet, either buy a case or a bumper+style shell (this last one will allow you to comforably use mods with the bumper, save from the gamepad)

>got a huawei p30
>it's good
Feels good lads

Wait for the new ones, they're coming out next month. If you don't want to wait the xr is lcd but has better battery life while the xs has oled so consider that.
T. Have an xr and a pixel 2 XL

yeah I'm with telus and the 9T looks like the best thing to replace my note 3 pro. Just waiting hoping the chinks will have some sort of knockoff black friday sale

I'm thinking about getting a new phone relatively soon but I don't use it for a lot of different things; messaging, phone calls, a little social media, a gacha game or two, car directions, streaming music.

What kinds of things does Jow Forums use their phone for? I'm wondering if I could expand my horizons on what I do with my phone to justify spending a bit more to get something better.

Anyone use Spectrum Mobile? I currently don't have any mobile carrier and just use Wifi, but if I decide to get one I'm considering just going through Spectrum since I'm already giving those jews money for the privilege of accessing the internet, so I don't see much reason to shill out to other multimedia jews too.

I haven't heard anything at all about how spectrum mobile is though, whereas normally I'll have heard good and bad shit about whatever carrier.

Midwest United States, if that matters for coverage.

>Processor isn't the most powerful on the market but I'm still struggling to find a reason why or most other people need that.
As far as I can tell pretty much the only reason anyone would need the most powerful processor is to emulate Wii games or something. Even the midrange processors can run PUBG.

Is the pixel 3 good for 499?

This phone came out two years ago, why is it still $860? No, I'm not going to buy a dirty refurbished phone. There are people who use their phones while they take poops!

Attached: v30.png (1050x720, 879K)

Why did LG phones get so bad?
for a while they seemed to be going the right way with the g3 and g6 but everything else was shit

I'm thinking of switching to them, the phone support is garbage though. They use the verizon network so coverage should be really good.

Love my Note 5 but the battery is starting to drain way too quick.

Any recommendations for:
>~200 USD
>TMobile or Unlocked
>Less than 6", maybe 5-5.5" height
>Good camera
>Good battery

Attached: hoes_mad.png (480x493, 249K)

get a used phone from a girl. they don't poop

3DPDs do
in fact 3DPDs are the poop

11.11 but there will be some sales before that.

oh yeah totally forgot about 11.11 good reminder!

You can get it off eBay brand new for less than $300

Why cant the huawei mate x just come to the US?

>tfw buy xperia x
>doesn't get official lineage OS
>has official sailfishOS which isn't really great
>official omnirom fucking sucks and hasn't been updated in 1 year
I'm thinking about getting the original google pixel for 180 Euros for lineageOS desu.

>justify spending a bit more to get something better.
you don't need a flagship phone then. Get a Redmi Note 7

I unironically trust aliexpress more than ebay desu

Redmi Note 7.

Is there a phone like Redmi Note 7 but with NFC?

Zenfone Max Pro M1/M2 series. I love them more because of stock android. Don't give a shit about muh specs

>gonna join the iphone gang now that samsung is ditching their jack & expandable storage too
Don't. Samsung isn't the only manufacturer and not all of their phones lack a headphone jack and expandable storage. Note 9 > S10/Note 10.
>is the XR alright
Alright for a mental patient maybe. Almost 800 dollars for a sub 1080p screen in 2019. is pants on head retarded and you'd have to be more retarded than that to actually buy it. And that's not even the only downside.

OnePlus 7 Pro, smoothest phone in existence.

Is the redmi k20 pro worth it if I am planning on using it on verizon?

i tend to be a budget buyer, the new ones would have to do some revolutionary shit for me to consider spending $1000+, especially after paying $500 for my S9 on launch with trade in. screen quality is important to me though so i'll probably go XS.

eh, I've always wanted to try an iphone and i'm tired of having to awkwardly say i have an android when girls want to facetime me. I know "hurr durr buying a phone because of societal pressure" its retarded but i can't say it doesn't eat at me a bit. Noted on the screen quality though, i'll go XS. If i hate it i'll just sell it and get an S10, my S9 is in perfect condition and i plan on keeping it.

>tfw OP7 non Pro is priced perfectly for poorfags like me
Basically got the latest and greatest everything except the camera. Thank god gcam exists to somewhat make it bearable.

Yeah, it's impressive how OnePlus made it much cheaper at launch than the OP6T was, and it has improvements across the board for it. Especially the lovely dual speakers. Did you know the OP7 has an additional speaker grill that the OP7P doesn't?

Attached: 1565873250627.jpg (2000x1000, 99K)

>no headphonejack
LOL

>eh, I've always wanted to try an iphone and i'm tired of having to awkwardly say i have an android when girls want to facetime me
This is purely an American and a shell of a human being thing, right? And it also sounds like you need to start finding better friends. I'm not aware that FaceTime is such a godsend anyway, not to mention the infamous exploit.
>Noted on the screen quality though, i'll go XS. If i hate it i'll just sell it and get an S10, my S9 is in perfect condition and i plan on keeping it.
But why? Go try one in a store, don't downgrade from your S9. I'd suggesting upgrading to S9+ or the Note 9. You'll get a far superior phone in both cases and it would cost you less than buying a new iPhone.

I embraced the dongle life. Also just get Apple's USBC to 3.5mm. Measures pretty good.

Never settle™

I've been using one since June. The screen and storage are what sold it for me. The battery is nice too. Hopefully we get some ROM action for it

Probably something by Samsung. Not chink, not iPhone and still most popular, so you've got the least amount of problems with it.

This, I just bought a V35 unlocked brand new for 290 freedom credits off ebay

Yeah, just like 99% of all SD855 phones out there!

18/43 (41.9%) of SD855 phones have headphone jacks

>Vivo, Lenovo, LG, Asus LCD rattleshit, gamershit, Xiaomi poorfag chinkshit
not a whole lot of phones worth a damn. I'd rather have the OnePlus 7 Pro than the SD855 offerings from the brands I listed.

What's with these new phones getting so big and heavy with metal and glass everywhere?
Anything comfy like the 5X these days?

>not a whole lot of phones worth a damn
Well, about that - what's a phone really worth when it's supposedly a flagship but they exclude expandable storage and a headphone jack whereas mid range ones don't?

God damn, why dont sony do it fucking right? their customer base is ready to buy their shit but it is always ugly and shitty

Don't give a shit, clean stock software, battery life and sexy hardware is all I care about. Chinkphones outside of oneplass don't offer that.

The battery on my HTC 10 is about to completely die off soon. Probably going to just get a new phone instead of replacing the battery. If I want similar form factor at a reasonable price is the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE the way to go? Is it worth it waiting for 11.11 sales?

They are useless, their gaming division is stupid and their movie division is even stupider. God knows how Sony even exists today, only their TVs are worth a damn and even there I'd probably get an LG over it.

>God knows how Sony even exists today
wasn't there a time when their life insurance division makes the most money?

>movie division
MIB:I, and Holmes and Watson were duds, but Far From Home made over $1B, Jumanji ,and Venom were big hits.

hello /spg/

I am looking a new phone
it must have

dual sims + micro sd slot
NFC
android one

what are some phones that have all these things?

Far From Home? Marvel made that. Last time Sony tried to do it with Garfield they had to cancel the franchise.

Yeah Marvel Studios made it, but all the profits go to Sony. Sony had at least enough sense to give Marvel the reins.
collider.com/spider-man-far-from-home-box-office/
>saw each studio fully investing in and keeping the profits from its respective features, meaning that Marvel Studios makes zero dollars from Sony’s new standalone Spider-Man movies and Sony makes zero dollars from Civil War or Endgame. Instead, in exchange for taking the creative lead on producing the standalone Spider-Man movies, the annual fee that Marvel pays Sony to keep the toy and merchandising profits to the Spider-Man character at Marvel would be reduced from $35 million if Spider-Man: Homecoming grossed over $750 million—and it did.

It looks so nice and chunky.

Best phone is coming.

So sad that it doesn't even have official lineageOS. And the price is insane right now because people apparently want a smaller phone but there are none left on the market anymore.

At least Xiaomi does and for less money. You can even overclock some of their screens and I bet they'll have high refresh rate ones too in no time. Clean stock software isn't really their thing, but it doesn't really matter when they're so developer friendly - just like OnePlus. And by the way, stock software wasn't so clean on the 5T, because it had some telemetry app pre-installed.

s10e is physically smaller, but the screen is bigger.

Nokia 3.1, 3.1 Plus, 5.1
LG G7 One

OnePlus was a turd before the 7 series, I'm only shilling that one.

Sony management is horrible.
Every manufacturer is following the same trend of bigger and bigger phones, and Sony phones are not competitive on the same level with Samsung etc.
The only thing they'd have to do to have a unique product that's in demand is forget about the XZ2c (which isn't really compact anymore) and do minor updates to the XZ1c: faster, sock, more RAM, better camera. Wouldn't require much development costs. But instead they're like no, because fuck you consumer, we know better.

Why not btw? Small phones not popular enough with pajeets?

pajeets don't buy sony phones

All the Nokia phones are hybrid dual sim which won't allow for 2 sims and a micro sd card.

I guess that user is getting an LG then

not available in my region

I guess something's gotta give then. I say ditch the Android One and get something with Lineage.

some of the chinkphones are easily accessible
i think xiaomi is the easiest to service yourself where you just take off 2 screws then like 2 cable ribbons inside which can be put back on
samsung and i think apple seals their shit with sealant and you need a heatgun to take off the cover, then you have to take off plates inside covering the battery which also house speaker units so people are afraid of doing it themselves
xiaomi though, i just did it myself because if i fucked it i'd just buy a new one

Can't use google pay or netflix if i go with lineage

I did, until Sony abandoned the market in 2018 and screwed me over when it came to repairing my XZ.

What would be the best custom rom for the Pocophone? How buggy do they tend to be?

redpill me on oneplus

>Redmi Note 8 coming
>MediaTek MTK G90T
>probably dot notch over this patent (their)
How they always find a way to fuck up, they do this intentionally, 100%.

Attached: gsmarena_004.jpg (727x418, 24K)

isn't that the F1 phone? I'm almost sure it has official LineageOS support

How well is after market support for Samsung phones? I'm thinking of getting an s10e since it pretty much ticks all boxes. The thing I miss about iPhones is the 5 year software support. I'm not expecting more than 2 years but I don't want to buy a new phone so soon (3 - 4 years)

gsmarena.com/redmi_8_appears_in_handson_images_-news-38757.php
I think that's the Redmi 8, not the Note 8 you're referring to.

these Sony phones look so disgusting with these huge bezels
Xiaomi Mi 9T is the perfect phone

Attached: 20190819_112949kl.jpg (2016x1512, 1.01M)

Notice how you can actually grip the sony though without covering the screen?

Skip the pixel and go for the pixel 2, the OG Pixel had a lot of problems.

i can do the same to the xiaomi. curved display smartphones are cancerous, you are right.
But the Xiaomi is perfect.
>no notch
>headphone jack still there
>no bezels
>no curved display

What do you guys use your phones for? I find myself putting off buying a new phone for far longer than I should because I wouldn't use it for anything that my current crappy phone can't do.
What am I missing? motivate me to use my phone more

apps & porn

>it will ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439
From your link, so its Redmi 8, but Note 8 rumors and certifications says that it will have Mediatek chipset.
>its the Redmi 8 not Note
But Note wont have any other mechanism, it will have either hole punch camera (which i can swallow only on s10+ because fuckhuge screen) or dot notch.
If it comes with AMOLED atleast there wont be screen bleeding but im suspicious about that screen with price below 200€, they fucked Mi A3 with 720p, hope they wont this one... But still i wont buy phone with Helio chipset.
xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8-series-70-inch-redmi-4k-smart-tv-august-29/

Is the Poco f1 still a good buy at around $248 namely the 6GB/128GB version? Does it have any notable issues that cropped up since its release?

>putting off buying a new phone for far longer than I should
Unless your current phone is giving you a shit experience (crashing, broken in some way, etc) and does what you want it to, why should you upgrade?
Don't fall prey to the trap of consumerism. Invest that money.
