No, the iPad Pro has a 120hz screen and an unbelievably fast processor. It's sometimes faster than my i7 laptop that sometimes throttles.

If you would have done 1 minute of research you would know that the "120Hz" holds as much merit as the "pro" part of the iPad. Of course being the mactard that you are you won't understand pic related so I'll spell it out for you:
1.) Response time = max frame time
2.) Frame time = fastest duration 1 image can be displayed per second on a screen.
Therefore the iPad "pro" with a "120Hz" screen can only display an absolute maximum of 43 frames per second, all other frames are discarded to keep Audio/Video sync.

I loathe the iPad Pro but it browses pixiv for bed faps like a dream and is without any doubt the best portable drawing tablet ever. It is a single purpose device disguised as an overpriced toy and nothing else comes close to the performance. It's a shame about everything else about it.

So, I’m a new browser here. I am fairly new to learning about viable hardware to check out. I have a MacBook Air 2014 that I got for 50 bucks. But after 4-5 years of use, its about to be on its last legs. Current battery cycle’s at 950. And I was thinking of getting a laptop to run Linux on. (I have plans to get a pc).

Please help me by recommending another laptop to use. I don’t know where to start and my only option seems to get a MacBook Pro (2015). My criteria would be:
>8-16 gb of ram
>500gb of internal storage
>strong gpu

Literally the only worse premium laptop than that right now is the surface laptop.

Aluminum is pretty expensive as metals go, actually. It's cheap to cast and machine, though.

I just bought a Surface Pro 6 yesterday and the fuzzy keyboard is actually really nice, I like it a lot more than I expected to. It's a pretty cool machine in general, obviously not a gaming or content creation powerhouse but awesome as an ultraportable note-taking and sketching machine.
