Private corporations deciding what people should and shouldn't see is as bad as governments deciding. At least in the case of democratic governments they are ostensibly working in the interest of the people. Corporations by definition only care about profit.
The problem with shit like this is it gets everyone to go "yay Twitter censorship is great". Then when it gets used against, for example, lefty socialists, people are up in arms. Censorship is censorship and it's only acceptable if you have very specific and transparent rules that are blanket enforced regardless if the user is a bot or a celebrity.
The real solution is to regulate these huge platforms as utilities and enforce first amendment rules (e.g. no direct threats of violence, no intentional libel, but nearly everything goes).
