I have humble sum of money on my savings account but both my personal computer (a laptop) and my car which I bought used at 8 years old were financed (for the car I covered 50% up front and the rest from the bank).

If you have no interest and are managing it accordingly, I see no problem. But for me, I make it a point to never be in debt. I sacrifice up front, waiting until I can pay up front and still have a comfortable sum left in liquid.
