All dumbphones/featurephones are smart unless they are analog microcontroller based.
Otherwise they all are using a ARM microprocessor with a operating system.
Considering smartphones and dumbphones both can't bypass the radio black box you will notice dumbphones are actually even more botnet because they have remote tracking for theft prevention that can't be changed in software.
At least with a unlockable bootloader smartphone you can change the whole stack from the recovery to the bootloader to the root and system image.
Even allowing mainline linux if there's support (for example snapdragon with adreno).
A "dumbphone" is really only good for better battery, smaller size, functional buttons since they generally use KaiOS (firefoxOS fork) or android GO (512MB max RAM usage) so they are really lean.
If you can get one with unlocking bootloader and port TWRP it's as good as it can get.
OPs phone can also tether as dedicated SIM modem and use ADB shell through USB so it's got some modern features.
Interestingly enough the sliding cover can be used for gestures.
