I hate it for manga since it ruins the effect of a two-page spread art. Making it small or having to turn the device is dumb.

I have it put them into "reader mode" and I setup a udev rule that identifies my ereader when it's connected via USB and it auto rsyncs them to my ereader.

I use plain html if your reader supports it.
Most ereaders are just android so you can change your reader app.

epubs are also worth looking into since you get font scaling natively.
PDF is fixed font but nice for printing for that purpose.

Not him, but also returned my likebook Mars. It was nice hardware but the software end ruined it. Every reader app I tried would crash after some time. Loosing all progress in that particular book. After about a month it just broke. Screen froze and it became unresponsive. I could power it off and it was still stuck on the same page. Got it through Amazon and still had the return and refund window active.

I had one, Sony psr t2 or something. Eink update time was driving me crazy. Still managed to read about 100 books before gifting it tommy father who is pretty happy with it.
