Just wanted to say thank you friendly windows user. I know you're probably busy doing IRL stuff so I'll give it a shot.
I'm a scrub but I can try to help folks out.

Win 7 user with dism trouble last thread here, I built a botnet10 pc and used it to follow the guide the same way I did on win7 and it justworkedTM. Guess it was the guide and win7 not working well. Thanks for the guide and the program list in OP has been great so far, so many clean utility apps there. One question I have and I'll probably get shit for it is that I can't download the xbox app, and I am on LTSC 1809 and need 1903 apparently. Is there any way to get around it without updating? How do I update, and does that get rid of any files I have?
Why do you need the Xbox app user?
An old friend of mine wants me to get gears of war because we used to play a lot since the first one.
Is Windows10 Pro based ?
Can I disable the telemetry?
just a silly question but do you know which software has been used to made this infographic?
wanna do the same for android applications/alternatives to google botnet
WHERE THE FUCK IS TAGSCANNER
LTSC is custom is where it's at.
Feels classic man
I would take the loss just play a game on steam
Currently using LTSC but I got a year of game pass, so I will need the Microsoft$tore
I gave my 3 months to a friend
No idea what that is
GIMP or pirated Photoshop
Never used GIMP before, guess everything has a beginning
So is it a pain to update? Would I need to make a completely new win10 LTSC ISO?
Updates work without issue plus you can choose when to update(They are all security based)
When I try to update though it says that everything is OK except the operating system: "contact your system administrator to upgrade windows server or enterprise editions". I thought a part of the guide was the disableUAC thing which gave all permissions.
Same with LTSC 1809
>and it justworkedTM
Yeah, I'm leaning towards the dism cmdlets for PS not installing/working on 7.
>I can't download the xbox app
Wasn't there an inbox Xbox app in 1809? You could use a package extractor to suck it out, and install it on your LTSC.
>business needs windblows
>no idea how to buy LTSC/LTSB
>ask Jow Forums since they shill microphallicsoftness 24/7 now
>Jow Forums will respond saying how easy it is and im a brainlet
>when I press them for a actual way to do it they will finally respond a few posts later with a illegal way to install it
LTSC is for piratefag streetshitters.
You can get a Windows 10 Pro key for like 3 dollars on ebay.
3$ to be an endless beta tester and telemetry guinea pig
No thanks
Fuck off tripfag. Ideally, to a building that's being implosively demolished.
I was using the undocumented dism commands to install hyper-v on windows 8.1 home but the network stuff appears to have a dependency i haven't installed
It bluescreens when I try to make a virtual switch, and new-netnat spits out a class not found error, so clearly something is missing.
The .mum files don't properly list dependencies, but based on a little bit of looking i think it might have something to do with remoting, NAT seems to be handled there.
any ideas what it could be
Which version and edition of Windows did you lift Hyper-V from?
windows 8.1 home, my own
you can install the .mum files in %systemroot%\servicing\packages using slightly different albeit undocumented syntax in dism
dism /online /get-package:[mum-file]
dism /online /get-packageinfo:[mum-file]
etc
Well, considering that 8.x Home doesn't (officially) have Hyper-V, I'd say it's incomplete. Try lifting the packages from a 8.1 Pro box, installing them on yours, and see if that works.
I don't need to lift them from anywhere, have you actually looked at %systemroot%\servicing\packages?
It contains every windows optional feature for every edition in the form of a loosely referential xml files that do not explicitly feature dependencies, but group some features together.
The dependencies are here, somewhere, for certain - but i don't want to blindly install everything in microsoft-windows-professionaledition.mum - because I'm concerned about accidentally installing a package that has some form of licensing detection in it, because that would take a lot of time and effort to do, and because disk space is kind of a premium on my OS SSD.
If I go with LTSC, will I still have updates and security enhancements? Like Windows Defender and the like?
The clock is ticking for me old Win. 7 Pro..
>have you actually looked
No I haven't, because I don't have Windows 8.1 Home, so it would not be relevant.
>It contains every windows optional feature for every edition in the form of a loosely referential xml
Yes, I know this. I'm actually SuperBubble, so you don't need to dumb anything down for me.
>The dependencies are here, somewhere, for certain
Don't be so certain. You had to activate the manifest yourself, for example - Windows didn't have it indexed in the CBS repository. This may have been done for a reason - like that manifest isn't actually backed by all required files.
>i don't want to blindly install everything in microsoft-windows-professionaledition.mum
You rarely (if ever) have to. Just lift Hyper-V-related packages from a Pro box (or WIM, for that matter). If you're truly worried, compare the file lists from your Home against the Pro version.
> because I'm concerned about accidentally installing a package that has some form of licensing detection in it
This is a legitimate concern. However, the worst that can happen is that you break a feature that doesn't work correctly in the first place, user. C'mon, where's your sense of adventure!
>ltsc doesn't have updates
I am utterly unable to comprehend how this insane concept is so widespread.
I'll just leave this here.
Can I disable dark explorer in win10 now?
You could since it was a feature
How does KillMySelf38 actually work? Is it just a forged activation reply that says "you're activated until 2038", or is there something client side?
>C'mon, where's your sense of adventure!
fucking about with the user-mode syscalls exported by ntdll
which i find personally more thrilling than a game of hunt down the missing dependency
i already get enough of that as a C++ programmer
If you're that desperate for Hyper-V, and you're a programmer, why are you using Home edition in the first place?
Not to mention, if you're good enough to be fiddling ntdll, enabling unsupported features should be child's play, relatively speaking.
>France
>Non five eyes
Yeah but it was almost a six eyes member and finally is a nine-eyes one.
And our entire lives rotate about snitching on and doxing mean racists and sexists on the internet.
Don't seek privacy here.
Don't use qwant.
For some stupid ass reason when I choose a different keyboard layout and remove the previous one, it keeps coming back. I remove the US one and eventually it's there again. I have to add it (because it's not listed, but still functional) and remove it again for it to go away, but it keeps doing it. This is the 7th fucking time. Have they fixed this on 1903? I'm on LTSC right now.
It's because you haven't set it at the welcome screen. It's been like this since at least Windows 2000. Jow Forumsentoomen fail to do this every single time, because they don't understand how Windows builds the keyboard list. To be fair, it's not documented anywhere - but anyone with experience using multilingual or multilayout Windows (like me, and... erm… fuck off) can tell you this.
Anyway, nuke your US keyboard layout, then click Administrative language settings, then Copy settings, and copy to Welcome screen and system accounts. Restart, and enjoy.
Many thanks
Everyone is really nice here
(Checked)
>i missed how we treated !BE/Fucktard upthread
To be fair, I seem to recall treating tripfags like the disgusting vermin they are is in the global rules somewhere.
What you're saying user, is that we don't want qwant?
…
…
Yeah, I'm leaving.
Windows 10 AME is best
What are the programmes you installon Windows? I have
>7zip
>Everything
>Fastcopy
>Firefox
>Foobar2000
>Greenshot
>Jpegview
>MPV
>Notepad++
>Thunderbird
I think microjew made a different Xbox app for the new non-windows store games, xbox(Beta).app.
If updating works without issue do you know why this happens when I try to use the windows 10 update assistant? Or is that the problem?
Are you fucking kidding me?
I have many of yours plus:
Classic shell start menu
7+ taskbar tweaker
Qttabbar (ver 3.40 )for tabbed file explorer and thumbnail zoom functions for vids and pics
Speedcrunch calculator
Revo uninstaller pro (cleans up leftover folders a registry entries that are left over)

Is open shell safe?
Yes. I use SiB, but OpenShell is foss. You can see the source code and check if the binary are safe using Virus Total.
Bloody heck, thanks for the effort, I'll check some of that out definitely.
If you find yourself stumbling over "most well known" try substituting "best known" instead.
It means the same but it also implies you've passed 6th grade reading.
Based and bookmarked
Question, if I'm planning to downloading software from get into pc, mostly for 2d and 3d design, should I better run those programs in a virtual machine? And hyper v it's a option to do it?
No worries, need to tidy that list up for dupes and dead links tho...
it was made with LibreOffice Writer, the infograph user posted screenshot before
completely unrelated but check out phnt by processhacker for ntdll export defs if you haven't already
>nirsoft
Criminally underrated. Always good to see Nir Sofer get well-deserved exposure.
>tfw using genuine Windows 7 Ultimate with genuine Microsoft Office 2010 Professional
Office 2010 isn't supported anymore
It probably doesn't have the equation editor patch either, which means any office document can gain code execution just by opening
>mfw using ripped off windows whateverIlike with pirated office plus stolen adobe cs
>but they all think they're geniune
I don't usually share documents with people who get viruses, but when I do, I prefer genuine Windows 10 Professional with Office 365.
That's a nice setup you have there. Be a shame if someone were to audit it.

Here in the third-world, there are real crimes to be investigated.
We don't really have the time or money to criminalize nearly everything you can do with a computer, then build our own Skynet to enforce it.
Sum... this: .
So I have the debloated LTSCA .iso, I did it a few weeks ago but I think I chose to have edge removed
what do I view pdfs with when I install it?
CC maker is not working I used the one in the pastebin
Also is there anything I should be worried about when using it?
ok I didn't read the thread like an idiot but Im gonna look at these real quick
This is the best media player on Windows hands down.
github.com
Hyper-V can be sensitive to dodgy network drivers (for example, forums.mydigitallife.net
Is there a keyboard shortcut to change the keyboard language?
It's Ctrl+Space, isn't it? Or Ctrl+Shift+Space? Somewhere in the Control Panel will tell you.
Is this media player really that good, or does it just have a small group of hyper aggressive shills that post about in any remotely related thread?
It was Windows key + Space. Thanks
use beets
mpv.net is just mpv with an actual installer, gui, and some scripts by default. Give it a shot.
I updated my windows work laptop with some minor required update.
The machine then got stuck on in a boot loop, never making it into windows.
The solution was to unplug the machine, take out the battery and wait a bit.
It then booted. Windows is garbage tier router software.
Lol, why are you installing ltsc. That build has no place on a personal entertainment machine.
Did you even bother to read what market ltsc was built and released for? No, obviously not.
You might as well try arch next, faggot.
>had a hardware fault
>fixed it in fine l1 tech support style
>blame os
This is why people laugh at you, user.
Use 10 you dumb autistic faggot.
Youre implying that the os didn't cause the hardware fault, and you'd be wrong.
All those extra chromosomes must be hard.
Wtf really ?
cant you just install miscrosoft store wnd other usually default apps via powershell? iirc there's a list of commands on howtonerd
>i don't like windows
>random thing happened
>this must be windows fault
It's like a warped religion.
>and you'd be wrong
Yes, really. It's a very simple layout, and it never round-tripped to Office, so it has far less opportunity to be completely fucked up like most OO/LO documents.
Someone posted the layout ?
Because I don't play games often, I just want the option. I read a lot about it but since it seemed like you can add some features to the existing foundation it still sounds like the best.
Again, I think it's the new version of the app that requires it since it's seperate from the microsoft store.
w2c CCMaker?
Also thoughts on GNU Jami?
Any retard friendly substitutes for ccleaner?
oh wow, must've mixed it with 2007
see
Thanks
God damn it feels good to use ps again instead of fucking gimp
If it's free, you're the product.
stfu retard lmfao
Cringe winloze user
I use this HDD (WD Caviar Green) for 9 years now. How much longer do you think it will last?
probably quite some more.
I had drives reach 50k hours
