Do Hauwei laptops have embedded spyware, or is it safe to install linux on them without chinks monitoring my every click?
Do Hauwei laptops have embedded spyware...
Other urls found in this thread:
how about you kill yourself
why would you even risk it? it's not like there's any shortage of other laptops you could buy from companies that don't have a history of spying for the chinese government to the point where their products were banned in the us
just looking to save some cash, they look cheaper than similarly spec'd alternatives
Matebooks work great for linux
I should mention that I'm looking for a super lightweight laptop with 1440p resolution, good screen, 16GB ram, quad core cpu, integrated graphics to save on weight/cash, and some pcie ssd for under $1200
Macbook air
lol no I need a big boy laptop for linux, not apple toys
you're gonna buy a chinese spy toy instead
Mao did nothing wrong
All laptops have backdoors. Either America is spying on you, or china is. Take your pick.
considering Huawei's CPU vendor, in OP's case it wouldn't be "either"
>Do Hauwei laptops have embedded spyware
Yes.
- the uefi is proprietary as always
- the usual intel ME is present
- nobody knows what "extra" functionality they have built into the SM controller and into all the other chips on board
Did some mild research. This appears to only apply to devices that have additional 3G components on the motherboard, including an antenna, although it may also listen for commands over ethernet.
Is there any pc/laptop that doesn't spy on you?
Librebooted thinkpads
You’re brainwashed. You’ll buy overpriced Chinese spyware garbage but a MacBook Air isn’t a real laptop? What shitty subreddit gave you brain damage?
>t. seething chang
Buy Star Labs laptops who are for your privacy you noob.
chinkshit is dirt cheap though
user said he wont buy apple toys, where is your reading comprehension?
>china is spying
Show me the proofs that don't glow in the dark
>to the point where their products were banned in the us
Is this your brain on orange man or you're just dumb?
Is Jow Forums okay with only disabling ME instead of removing all traces of it?
>a history of spying for the chinese government to the point where their products were banned in the us
>0 evidence for accusation at point of posting
but intel right?
Why of course user-kun. They are made in communist china after all.
If you removed all traces of it, the cpu wouldn't be able to initialize.
can you even buy chinkshit in your shithole murica anymore?
Ironically enough, IBM OpenPower PCs like the Talos or whatever.
yes and thats a good thing actually
Is there any other laptop manufacturer which make laptops with non-16:9 screens?
No rart. It'll still initialize, but the ME Watchdog Timer is tripped and the CPU shuts down abruptly after 30 minutes.
