Clonezilla can read every filesystem that the Linux kernel supports, and it doesn't matter anyways because it copies at the block level, not the file level.

How often do you need to clone an external drive to another external drive?
Far more likely scenario is making a backup of your internal drive to an external drive, and for that a regular SATA dock is perfect.
