shouldn't have let it rest, computers get weird ideas when you're too nice to them

You think its my psu?

Replace the PSU and get a UPS.

bump

it's the psu mate, it's dead

A question that stupid doesn't deserve a response.

MODS

my power rarely goes out and my post has nothing to do about it so why would he recommend a ups?

I was browsing this board in public you fucking imbecile.

If it's not the PSU then your mobo's vrm died

Did I miss the porn?

how would op test it to see which thing is the problem?

I always miss the loli hour

Per OP:
>my leds n flashdrives are getting power.
Read niggas.

Are the fans connected to your mobo spinning? If they are, then it's likely a failed/failing hard drive. If not, it's most likely a failed mobo. Either way, prepare to pony up those shekels.

get 4chanx, fags. nothing special.

What was it? Scat? No, scratch that. If that were the case, that post would still be up.

Learn to archive. It was just a beautiful jap pussy

Right, already found it. Thanks for the heads up, I forgot archives were a thing.

It's about point of failure, faggot. Suppose OP replies saying the fans are still spinning; from that we know the mobo fan headers are still functioning, which means the PSU isn't broke. Therefore, if the PSU and mobo are working, then the next logical point of failure is the hard drive.

However, if he replies that the fans do not spin after the instant shutdown, then the mobo is either 1) recieving power but not passing it on, thus utterly fucked, or 2) not receiving power at all, which THEN would mean a problem with the PSU. Only on that last point will I concede a dead PSU being possible.

1) Is the hard drive making any unusual noises?
2) Do the leds continue to get power even after the shutdown? If not, does the PSU fan continue spinning?

he said it immediately turns off (i.e. doesn't POST), therefore its obviously not the HDD, as that would never stop the PC from booting (unless its hardware from over 20 years ago, which it obviously isn't).

This guy in the link explained perfectly what OP is experiencing since hes on a 3 day ban for posting japanese booty cause he didn't read the rules. I guess OP is getting a new psu. (im not OP, i swear!)

no fans are spinning just some led lights are on from usbs and other things, they stay on the whole time until i unplug the computer from the wall socket. harddrives are making no unusual sounds. the psu fan is not spinning at all throughout anything.
