pathetic
Spoiler: I usually reboot when I not use the computer.

Look at all these n00bs with no packages installed. Do you even use your computers?
Sadly it is time to reboot for a kernel upgrade.
Just do it, faggot. I rebooted yesterday and lost my 18 day uptime. Had to be done. I'm not running a server, after all.
It is a server, but it doesn't hurt much to reboot. just a 30 second lapse in seeding torrents and being connected to IRC really.

Don't be a fag and install it on real hardware
i use it for mostly everything except gayman. when i have time ill probably get rid of windows and do some kvm gpu passthru though

SGI Workstation?
anything over 2000 packages is bloat.
if you care about uptime use debian
An emulated one, yes. I have a couple of real Indys and an Octane 2 but I keep them in my closet most of the time since they're so rare and fragile. Emulation lets me dick around with the OS without risking anything. MAME 0.212 is capable of booting IRIX 6.5.22m now but I'm still on IRIX 6.2 on my emulated Indy.
I made a guide if you wanna try it: sgi.neocities.org

Anything less than 1000 packages is facebook-machine.
>There are people ITT running botnet software and proud of it.
You're not supposed to restart computers when you don't need to.

What's wrong with my name and Bash shell?
Slackware every fucking day, let's go
Fuck Windows
I'll admit one thing, CentOS has a god tier logo
I wish IRIX wasn't proprietary. That shit's cool.
Are you retarded? x
Are you?
Power cycling damages disks.

Damn straight. You might have forsaken our boy the day your fair weather friendship turned to hard times, but I will never let anyone take him away from me.

I suppose facebook would be slightly more enjoyable on a headless machine
what in gods name is this stone age resolution
I can't wait for CentOS8 desu.
I took the rest of the screen off in gimp
Can you link me to this OS ?
Can't find any info on this
So you managed to upgrade your kernel, well done.
sure: eltan.in.net
the fuck does this come with oob ?
for now the only way to use is by doing cross compilation (like gentoo). only after the new userland match the old one in features that it will be live/installable isos

w-what kind of wallpaper are you hiding behind that game user?

can we get a pic of the pc you're running this on?
sure, i'm using a dell dimension 5150
how did you compile this? I just tried it and I got a dependency after dependency error until I eventually stumbled on a syntax error in the build script on line 41.
must be because of lilo and the old version of rc (yours). you would need to compile the new rc, just get the ports and call:
$ export PORTS=$PWD
$ ./mk/portsys.mk package -L libedit rc
This should create the packages under $PWD/portsys_pkgs
this rc is the correct version.
After that i recommend you to comment lilo out of the build:
$ sed -i '26,27 {s/^/#/}' build.rc
$ sed -i '27 {s/^/#/}' scripts/common/source.rc
Also change the compiler to the binary one (will make the process a lot faster):
$ sed -i 's/COMPILER=ellcc/COMPILER=ellcc-bin/g' build.rc
Why? What is the point of these threads?
You don't use Linux-based operating system solely for the purpose of being contrarian and gaining attention, right?
To see what distros people are using
To see what hardware they're using with them
To compare both with you're own if you're using the same distro
To compare versions of those OSs
To compare kernels
To compare DEs
To compare walls/applications
To show off the DEs and OSs you've put work into learning
To share them with the community so people can save the ones they really like [yes I've saved the odd one or two desktops from others that look nice to me, just like I would save any pic I liked]
its fun to see what configurations people have.
it's just a nerdier version of desktop threads.
Nice colours and uptime. Also well done for still using Stretch.
Jow Forums approved.
y'all niggas running terminal emulators on anything but an actual terminal it's disgusting 2bh
