Just installed on my pixel 3a. New gesture system is pretty much a clone of iOS'. It works, but I think I still prefer 3 button style navbar.
Other than that they changed the UI a bit and added a global dark mode, but there doesn't seem to be many changes.

Fucking this. Besides minimal UI tweaks I can't think of anything new introduces that's been worth of a full letter/number.

Inexplicable feature deletion and cloning of iOS navigation/gesture crap. Day to day niceties literally don't even compare to iOS -- still no coherent and widely used answer to iMessage, FaceTime, AirPods (JayBirds are buggy pieces of shit), and many others.

The developer API has also been neutered. Death of implicit broadcasts with the narrow whitelist was devastating.

Meanwhile, iPhone has added many things that originally made it suck compared to old Android: file system (Files app), custom default apps, custom keyboards, etc.

Next phone will be an iPhone 8 after the price goes down when 11 comes out. I have never owned an iPhone and I have worked as an Android dev for the past 4.5 years. It's over. I'm gone.

Suuuure.

It works, although doesn't play very well with slide out hamburger menus. You either have to hold your finger at the edge of the screen for the menu to pop out slightly, or swipe diagonally for the menu instead of back gesture. Trying it out for now but I might end up going back to 3 buttons.

It's stable (so far).
