Oh my God. Do they still use Opera Mini as their default browser? Doesn't this phone use that new PajeetOS where you can download apps? Also, nice watermark you've got there, m8.
Charles Williams
Firstnd for the Xiaomi 9T Pro. Because I bought one and I need validation.
Idk, mine came with opera. I remember all symbian phones had opera based appstore
Easton Brooks
My old phone I've been using as a backup died so I guess it's finally time to get a new one.
I don't know anything about the current smartphone market, what's the best value for money if my priorities are:
>camera >good battery >audio jack (not essential)
Also bonus points for any amazing phones out right now regardless of price. Don't really have a budget but if there's nothing I really like I'd rather just go cheaper until there is.
Kayden Fisher
Xiaomi Mi A3 It has amazing camera, has big boy battery + low rez display for more batt time and comes with a headphone jack The biggest advantage is the Android One interface, it's clean and debloated, and comes only with select Xiaomi and Nokia models

Is there any phone better than the Xiaomi Mi 9t if you're on a budget of £300?
Looking for a sub €180 phone thats easy to repair and has good lineage support, not really picky about specs. In EU if that helps
James Jones
>Ultimate Budget Option Edition >fewer features than redmi note 7 >higher price Yeeeeeeaaaaah, anyone who believes that is a fucking retard. Unless you're wholly opposed to owning a "Chinese" phone (which isn't exactly the best argument, since the Pixel 3a is Chinese-made as well), there's literally no good reason to own a Pixel 3a over a RM7 if you're a tech enthusiast.
Remember when flagships used to be $400? Fucking kek, retards buying this shit and fueling the fire deserve to be shot. >"Ooooh, but I can play Fortnite on it!" >"Ooooh, but Google services are all integrated!" >"Ooooh, but it looks more like an iPhone so Stacey will finally like me :)" Kys, "consumer" ""tech"" """"enthusiasts"""" are a cancer and bring nothing of note to the board. Very, very, VERY happy that /spg/ and /mkg/ exist to keep you silicon niggers from infesting the rest of the board. Shame you're still allowed to make threads after posting here. I ought to be banned for a week simply for making a post in this general.

it is IMPOSSIBLE to use a phone with zero bezels
i am actually starting to regret my purchase because of it, is there a way to temporarily disable the navigation panel and bring it back with ease?
I know how you feel. In fact, it's not only happening to phones, but to almost everything related with tech. I think RAM and GPUs are the biggest victims.
>I buy phones based only on the specs That's how retarded you sound
Easton Morris
>I respond with only one line to sound smart This is how you sound

Haven't been here in like 6 weeks, anything better than the Zenfone 6 pop up yet?

Opinions on buying a note 10 plus?
Adrian Reyes
>it is IMPOSSIBLE to use a phone with zero bezels Dude seriously, I'm always getting accidental touches on my 6T. And that isn't even that bad compared to other phones. Imagine what having a curved shit screen must be like.
Xavier Ward
>A50 Get a Mi9T, it shits on the A50 and Pixel 3a
Carter Bell
we have the exact same problem then
it is actually driving me insane
but some gestures are wonky (like the gesture for going "back"), is there a way to disable certain gestures on xiaomi?
Justin Wood
Bought a carrier free galaxy s9 last february but it seems like my phone is region-locked to Malaysia(SEA) and I'm not receiving OTA updates because I'm in South East Europe, will I start receiving OTA updates if I flash my phone to the latest firmware avilable for my region using Odin? It's infuriating because I'm still on Android 8.
I'm planning to buy it too. Which version did you buy?
Zachary Cox
Still have my oneplus 5t. It has screen burn and the charging port is fucked, but still works great. however, I'm bored of it... Is there anything I can do to spice it up a bit? Any decent custom/open source OS/firmware I can install?
Sebastian Cox
>140 x 67 mm Seems okay for 'small.' Any smaller is dumbphone territory.
>Fuck Sony didn't knew they were gookikes too They've always had a brand tax. Electronics tend to be more expensive in Japan too, an international version is likely to be gutted somehow.

why is it more difficult to type on a super amoled screen compared to a lg screen? feels smaller on a super amoled too

Bought a hauwei p30 lite. I'm now part of xi "the yellow bear of honey" jinping army of bots
I'm cheap. I'm seeing s7's for $100. Good deal or what should I get?
Juan Lopez
I was looking forward on that project but it sounds like it didn't rolled out as i expected. Their website marketing is pointing somewhere. A road they never really planned to work on?
Carson Anderson
Pixel 3a is a massive scam at its full price, unless you're American with no other options.

Is motorola one a good option for acquiring android one?

How are you two using your phones? Mi Mix 3 here and iPhone X , they're both fullscreen phones and I have no issues with either.

There are phones that provide both better specs and build quality at a similar or cheaper price.
Aiden Johnson
That's true but paying 300 bucket to have an actual AOSP experience is fairly cheap i guess.
Here on my country the different between 3 and 3a is almost none: 3 is at 2.800 and 3a is at 2.600
Cameron Price
yeah just flash it brainlet
Thomas Sanders
That doesn't sound expensive in any country.
Landon Powell
You could flash an AOSP ROM on most phones, if you really wanted to. Personally I prefer almost every variation of Android I've used over AOSP, which are OneUI and MIUI but I'll have to wait for to use Q to see if it has significant improvements. The Pixel 3a XL is also $800 here in Australia with sales bringing it down to $700, you could get Xiaomi Mi 9T for that price and that is a significant upgrade.
Joseph Martinez
>but I'll have to wait for to use Q to see if it has significant improvements. Just look up website and videos detailing the changes?
Christopher Turner
Save up and get s10e instead. I'm using s7edge now with similar spec as s7 and the s7's battery will probably be worse than s7edge. Though it doesn't have the CURVED SCREEEEN SHIEEEETT MEME
Matthew Kelly
>essential phone is £100 in america >£300 in the uk ok now this is epic no meme phone for me
Jackson Clark
I'll have to actually use it so if things like animations are fluid, the beta animations looked fluid when I watched videos but when actually using them they felt like absolute shit compared to the iOS or even MIUI which is also worse than the iOS gestures. The rest of the feature set is lacking, nothing exciting apart from location privacy options.
Lucas Martinez
did i fuck up by ordering v30 instead of mi 9t?
Caleb Lopez
Can confirm that MIUI gestures are very good. There's no way to switch between ALL open apps like iOS or Q, however.
Brandon Johnson
I need to switch from Verizon to a GSM network to use my Zenfone 6. Any recommendations? I'm leaning towards an MVNO with at least 2.5GB of data, I don't care too much about voice or text, and low price is obviously nice.
I've seen a lot about Mint but for whatever reason it's not coming up on wirefly.
Christian Diaz
Budget phone if I want a good screen and audio? A decent battery would be nice too. Couldn't care less about a camera. It could shoot potato quality for all I care.
Carson Anderson
>App would like to manage and make calls

Yeah. Unless you absolutely need that high quality DAC.

1. Does the Redmi have a pure stock Android experience? 2. Does the Redmi have a better camera? If not why the fuck would you buy it
Brandon Jenkins
>1. Does the Redmi have a pure stock Android experience? No, but neither does the Pixel. The fact that you think it does makes me think you don't belong on this board. If running "pure stock Android" was your goal, then both would require additional modification. Since you're on this board, that shouldn't be a problem for you, right? >2. Does the Redmi have a better camera? Both are 12MP, and the Redmi does take phenomenal pictures. Is the Pixel better than the Redmi in this regard? I certainly hope so, considering it's nearly twice the price, but I'm not holding my breath for noticeable difference in average use. I could list a number of things the RM7 does better, but seeing as you find the "Camera" to be the most important to question, I won't bother. >If not why the fuck would you buy it Because a ~$200 phone gives a phone twice its price a run for its money, and does a good job at what it was built for. If a phone is being advertised as the "ultimate budget option" as per OP, it shouldn't cost $400. iPhones and Galaxys both used to cost $400 new not too long ago. Have wages significantly increased to warrant a "budget phone" costing the same as a flagship from 5 years ago? The answer is no, and that's why you would buy the Redmi. You're entirely oblivious to what I'm about to tell you, but you really don't belong here and stick out like a sore thumb. Stop being such a dumbfuck.
Cooper Gray
>No, but neither does the Pixel. The fact that you think it does makes me think you don't belong on this board. If running "pure stock Android" was your goal, then both would require additional modification. Since you're on this board, that shouldn't be a problem for you, right? The Pixel runs as near to stock android as you can get reasonably. Why the fuck is anything more important. List something more important in a phone. A phone is only good for two things nowadays >phone calls >text messages a SMARTPHONE should only be good at two more things >taking pictures >sharing said pictures everything else is outdone on a tablet or laptop or especially desktop
Camden Butler
>The Pixel runs as near to stock android as you can get reasonably. Reasonably? You think it's "unreasonable" to flash AOSP, yet you're on a fucking tech board? The Pixel is bloated to fuck by an unreasonable company, but go on, keep gobbling their shit like a good little consumer. You'll never move away if they store all your info! A good little repeat customer. >List something more important in a phone Battery, which the RM7 has a 33% larger battery than the Pixel 3a. Expandability, which the Pixel 3a has no support for. eMMC, which the RM7 has double the size of the Pixel 3a's. Considering you think the Camera is so important, I take it the screen is important too - the RM7 wins hands-down in that regard as well.
Evan Jackson
don't waste your time man, you can't reason with these people

Motorola G7 Power has a big battery and jack, phone is acceptable, and runs gcam well. New flagships over. Software is good and it annihilates endurance tests.
twice the battery life of the Mi A3 and Pixel 3aXL in most benches. (GSM arena and notebook check)
If you can wait a bit, Samsung should be releasing a midranger with a 6Ah battery and nice camera soon. (M20s and M30s)
buy a shitty case perhaps?
Android 10 never :(
It's the most popular android device out there, but updates and battery are killer on old phones. You can get newer used phones for cheap.
>The Pixel is bloated to fuck by an unreasonable company How the fuck can you call it "bloated" >Battery Never an issue. Charge overnight. >Expandability Never an issue. Streaming and large file management should be on laptops. >eMMC More important than a fucking CAMERA? How are you going to take pictures other than your phone, fucking retard
Leo Williams
>How the fuck can you call it "bloated" Do you even know how heavy the Google Services Framework is? Or how their modified form of Android allows specific exceptions to the GSF in the form of unlimited wakelocks and invulnerability to privacy guards or other forms of limiting its behavior? >>Battery >Never an issue. Until it is. Isn't it funny how the size of your battery isn't increasing, but the price of your phone and the energy it consumes are? The best part is that when the battery inevitably becomes too small to get you through the day, you get to buy a whole new phone thanks to a lack of removability. >>Expandability >Never an issue. What about all those photos you want to take? Good mobile photos these days are at least 5MB+. Are you seriously defending being limited to a 64GB storage in the year 2014+5? Talk about being behind the times, grandpa. >eMMC >More important than a fucking CAMERA? How are you going to take pictures other than your phone, fucking retard I'll break this down for you very simply. 1. Take photo 2. Photo written to memory More memory = more precious photos Now here comes the part where you say "Just use the cloud bro!!!" You might have no problem storing your images to a cloud service so they can be used to train machines and facial recognition AI etc., but I'm not volunteering my data to be used as a collective guinea pig in lieu of a feature they omitted.
Why do women's pants not have sizeable pockets? Because they want to sell them handbags. You can defend the admitted lack of basic functionality (unless of course you sign on to our convenient service, goy) in the name of hip-dom all you want, but don't pretend it's practical. If you purchased a sports car and they didn't allow you to remove the engine or make modifications to it, you're a fucking retard for buying. Same goes for you and your dumb fucking $400 """" budget"""" phone that costs the same as a game console. Neck yourself.
Robert Lee
Getting mine soon, cant wait
Ryder Thomas
not getting involved, but you're a fucking idiot
Bentley Nguyen
>Do you even know how heavy the Google Services Framework is? Or how their modified form of Android allows specific exceptions to the GSF in the form of unlimited wakelocks and invulnerability to privacy guards or other forms of limiting its behavior? Explain to me how much slower the Pixel is in concrete terms >Until it is. Isn't it funny how the size of your battery isn't increasing, but the price of your phone and the energy it consumes are? The best part is that when the battery inevitably becomes too small to get you through the day, you get to buy a whole new phone thanks to a lack of removability. I'm used to getting new phones yearly, updates are shit >What about all those photos you want to take? Google Photos in Original Quality
the rest of your post is batshit insanity I expect from Jow Forums. well done
Jaxson Cook
And yeah it does cost the same as a console. Has an OLED screen, great speakers, and a god tier camera. Way better than a console. Show me a comparable digital camera to the Pixel and how much it costs
Oliver Evans
>Explain to me how much slower the Pixel is in concrete terms Ignoring the fact that you missed my point entirely, Pixel 3a CPU: 2 x 2 GHz & 6 x 1.7 GHz RN7 CPU: 4 x 2.2 GHz & 4 x 1.84 GHz Reason may not be your strong suite, but I trust you can find the % difference. >I'm used to getting new phones yearly, updates are shit Oh, so you fuel the prices upwards for everyone else. Good for you, fucklord. $400 """""" budget"""""" phone. Now imagine if you could have purchased a flagship for the same price hmm? >Google Photos in Original Quality Shit service, try exporting them. Metadata is entirely fucked up. Ruined the 3 years' worth of photos I had stored on there. They intend to keep you for life, because time + attention = money. >the rest of your post is batshit insanity I expect from Jow Forums. well done >And yeah it does cost the same as a console Didn't know consoles were """""budget""""" devices now, a la the OP's original title, which the post you chose to argue with was originally pointing out. I'm sure everyone living on a tight """""budget""""" now will be happy to hear that their cellular options are price-out a fucking PS4. >Show me a comparable digital camera to the Pixel and how much it costs I'm not shifting goalposts for you just because you got BTFO'd on one front, but pro-tip: there are plenty, and none of them have anything to do with a fucking """""budget""""" phone being $400.
Ryan Gonzalez
How is the Samsung 20a? gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a20-9640.php I can get it under $100 my iPhone SE is looking like shit It's got oled, facial recognition, fingerprint reader, headphone jack, 3GB ram, micro SD, USB C, it can be easily rooted but no removable battery is the only problem with it. How did it look to you lads?
Ayden Carter
That doesn’t look much faster. >Oh, so you fuel the prices upwards for everyone else. Nope, people buying on payment plans do that. I pay all at once. But people are used to $40 bucks a month for 2 years....$1000. >Shit service, try exporting them. Metadata is entirely fucked up. I don’t need metadata, I can add a lot of info later. The pictures that can be printed is what matters >Didn't know consoles were """""budget""""" devices They literally are. Anyone wanting to game at proper fidelity wants a PC. Consoles are a commercial convenience
Samuel Bailey
Please tell me you don't actually think the pixel has a decent camera. Its dynamic range at the same ISO is literally worse than a D1 from 1999. Dynamic range isn't everything, but holy fuck phone cameras are pure cancer.
Thomas Jenkins
So show me what DSLR you keep in your pocket
Andrew Sanders
Why do people buy xiaomi, aren't there ads in the ui? Also, how are the LG V35 and stylo series phones?
Parker Butler
iirc it's possible to turn them off and you can get the phones bootloader unlocked if you're willing to wait. annoying as fuck but not a dealbreaker for most people.
