How do I translate to my parents who don't know jack shit about computers why Macs are worse than PCs?
They argue with me so much about wanting to force me to get a Mac for college because it gets less viruses even when I'm paying with cash solely from my own pockets. Any articles, vids, or other resources? How do I explain this shit to them?

Tell them that most professional engineers use PCs. Make the argument that Macs are best for creative stuff (not really true but just roll with it) and PCs are for professionals.

If you're doing anything technical, Windows is a requirement. Sooner or later you will run into something that just will not work on Mac.

An easy example is how Windows will run on a Mac, because they're literally the same thing as a PC, and people easily get OSX to run on a PC.
Sounds like they've come to their own preconceived notions though, so you should probably focus on getting them to understand you're a big boy now and can make your own decisions about things you understand.

Then they sit me down and ask why I'm so closed off and don't talk/ask for their opinions for these sorts of things. Tell them you can't afford a mac and that they're too expensive to fix. Just reference a made up friend who bought a mac and had it die on them in 2 years and that the cost to repair it was more than the laptop itself.
