Tim did it again

New Unreal Engine version released
Explain what this is.
well one example
It's a game engine.
If you mean the pink thing in that pic, I have no idea and don't want to know.
yes but can i compile it?
I want to switch to this shit for the performance upgrade, but I already invested a year into a Unity game. what do
Yes and no, the only way to access the beta features is building from source on github.
Profile and optimize your game like a normal person instead of wasting another year switching engines.
Tried but Unity terrain and vegetation is known for being slow.
Isn't the base 3D performance of Unreal better? Seeing as it's written in C++.
Is your game GPU-bound or CPU-bound?
Don't worry in 10y when you finally finish it your average gpu will be like 50% faster
Well, I learned Unity by making the game, so the learning curve to transfer to Unreal can't be greater than 1 year.
The question is whether or not the performance upgrade is worth it, not whether or not my game is gonna be made.
can you actually use it on Lunix or is it a buggy mess running it there?
It's not you cold probability figure it out in a couple of months but I think it's a waste of time and will only add more bugs
Today no audio, hoping next version had as stable new audio system.
Thanks chink shill.
Kinda taken a liking to godot
Everything you run in Linux is a buggy mess retard
Nice projection there, Microshaft
It's software that powers some of your video games :)
unity is written in c/c++ the scripting language is c#. language doesn't explicitly determine performance. unreal would still probably run better but you clearly don't know how to optimize anyway
Big dick Tim
>unity is written in c/c++ the scripting language is c#
They're currently re writting part of the engine in a fast Chashtag subset.
I had an internship proposition to do this last year but I don't want to kill myself porting Chad++ to some inferior microshaft trash.
>unreal will now forever be just the fortnite engine
take me back
