So it's finally going away.
So it's finally going away
Yeah, I'll finish Stone Ocean tomorrow and I'll dip
>Stone Ocean
I regret reading even a single page of that shit.
Use mangadex.org. full responsive site and 0 adds.
what happened?
They pull licensed content
Mangabox doesn't (didn't)
I liked the first 1/3 of SO. Battle Tendencies remains my favorite.
Mangarocks explanation
mrcomics.com
literally nothing
they just got pulled out of the play store, which doesn't mean that it's going to close or end
>t.retard
>calling me a retard somehow disproves what i just said
ok
Look at their statment on mrcomics.com at the end. They are only slowing content that they have signed on with
Showing*
>not using superior manganelo
>not having update rights at madokami
lmao at your miserable life
ok i'll think of switching because they somewhat start to pull official licensed content
so what are the best service out there for manga in general that its reader easy to use and fast on updates and dont hide shit????
They still host scanlations of licensed manga, they just don't host the English licensed release itself
Tachiyomi.
is there an easy way to move backup or at least make a library using mangarock backup or something ??
the library is quite big and i'm gonna save everyshit one by one
weird taste, but ok
Their web reader is comfy. What do jsfags think of it?
Mangarock is a walled garden, you're fucked. Normies on twitter/reddit are talking about screenshotting/recording their library as a backup, it's hilarious.
ah shit here we go again
so apparently if i just want to move my shit to another site , what that site could be ??
i mean MR reader is just too comfy for someone
so is there any site that can rival this ??
Move it to Anilist, import that to Mangadex if you want to read online or set up Tachiyomi to sync with it if you're on Android.
i didnt mean sites like anilist or kitsu
what i meant sites like mangafox or manganelo , manganelo looks somewhat comfy , but i want site that i can i guarantee i dont move my shit again?
Just use Tachiyomi
tachiyomi doesn't have suggestions
pls no
>pull manga because the scanlator said so
>pull licensed manga
I don't care about licensed manga, but just because another pirate said you can't pirate their shit and being afraid of their repercussion is the most cuck thing to do.
Bring back mangatrader.
>Most manga doesn't got updated for months
>Even popular manga sometime got late upload.
>Not allowing other people to help in uploading.
I was so naive thinking that site gonna be the next #Lurk.
settings then export. log into website and import. go to favorites, scroll down and click show more until everything is visible, then highlight all the text and paste it into notepad or excel.
still useful for the old archive and alot of new uploads just sit in unsorted (which you can find using the search function).
its app is garbage but it was the best source for tachiyomi
can one of you homos PLEASE finish this pull request for tachiyomi?
github.com
I will literally pay whoever finishes this $20.
>whoever finishes this $20.
and once it gets accepted and released
This is why you dont get greedy and sign on garbage chink comics when you're a fucking pirate site.
>he reads gay comics for Chinese children
Then swallow your pride and go ask for suggestions on /a/
Okay I've been using them for over half a decade now and here are my thoughts:
Mangarock was originally just apps. They relied on sources like Mangafox, Mangapark, Kissmanga, etc. They had a paid option around $5-6 which probably everyone bought to get rid of apps, and it was relatively cheap for a one time payment considering how much manga some people read. Sites kept changing their layout, making Mangarock as a source fetcher annoyed since they needed to keep updating their scripts to bypass sites, and they were probably also not making much money due to the one-time purchase. So they decided to become a source/aggregator and started their site. This was both a means of getting a more stable main source but also for ads to get some more income.
Okay so now they have a site, but they didn't realize they were now the target of scrapers, and the ads didn't cover their now huge traffic costs since they were aggregating more shit than even Batoto at the time. They needed money. They wanted to go legit (same shit that Mangadex is trying now). They go to oriental countries and try to get deals, but they just got flagged instead and was about to get DMCA'd. The only deals they got were from garbage chink comics that nobody reads. So they started that subscription crap a month back.
Nobody gave a shit about the subscription services since everyone already had definitive edition and paid a one time $6 fee to remove ads. They weren't getting more money. MR just said fuck it after a month and decided to close the whole shit down and just sign a few of those garbage chink comics for whatever money they could get.
This honestly sounds like it has been a plan in a making for quite a while. Paid apps drop off a ton in sales over time, and there aren't enough new weebs to support their old model, and they also made a mistake in making an aggregation site, which only make the money issue worse. Subscription was the only answer, but that's also a big red flag to Shueisha since they have Japan's manga publishing by the balls. That was probably the last straw for them to DMCA the shit if it wasn't just because nobody subscribed and MR made no money.
Basically they fucked up due to money and greed. They could have stayed as a small app that uses OTHER sites as sources rather than become one and nobody would have gave a shit.
>adds
So basically it's like if popcorn time started their own torrent tracker
wow what a bunch of retards
>its app is garbage
no u
And I think their blogs support my claims, specifically them going to china and korea
medium.com
medium.com
medium.com
I'd say that's close. MR didn't host anything in the past, just like Tachiyomi. They just got manga from other sources, didn't even have a site to aggregate everything. I doubt anyone would even have cared to DMCA them in the past with how small they were.
Another thing I'd like to note is that their own devs probably read manga, so closing everything is probably a hit to them as well. If they don't keep definitive alive (and revert it back to the old MR), I can almost guarantee they can just use their old source code and made the old MR again where they use other sources. I wouldn't even be surprised if they hosted a private site just like their current one but only for themselves. Their scraping scripts were probably the best from what I've seen. Rarely missed any new scans from even small groups.
>I will literally pay whoever finishes this $20.
kek kek
>Mangafox, Mangapark, Kissmanga
so literally garbage
So what do I switch to in techiyomi?
lel
kissmanga was a direct rip from batoto back then
And fucking mangadex. Everyone already knows they're trying to go legit as well. They should just shut their trap before they get shut down as well. Aggregators are the primary target, even moreso since mangadex has their own scan groups. They're also directly linking to Mangaplus which probably won't go well for them either.
Do you guys have a recommendation for an e-reader that's good for manga? I hate reading on my laptop and get more satisfaction from the physical book.
I'm using Kindle Paperwhite for 8 month and it's pretty comfy.
Nice. If I get one I can just download all the shit I want and not need to bother with shit like Manga Rock.
>webp's your way
Sayonara. Already uninstalled the extension from tachiyomi.
>shitty app only normalfags,or applefags used because they did not know of the superior choices. They also run an even more cancer site, that spread their cancer ui.They go legit, and pick up chink crap no one really wants to read.Trying to copy the korean naver model for chink shit.
>he is retarded nigger sadist who liked shitty mangarock ui on a web browser.
>iPajeets will never, EVER get the best manga reader
imagine being a apple user, and using a shit manga app and paying for no ads.Even worse imagine being and inept android user and paying for no ads, instead of using adaway. Imagine thinking you will make ad money from website and thinking web users will not use ublock.
>Imagine thinking you can beat viz, cr, and jump in the legal manga market.Imagine thinking you can win the manwha markets again naver, leapiz. And all you got was chinese manhua.
look, another stardust normalfag
For manga it's best to learn japanese and read RAWs. And I don't mean go full weeb, it's just that it's really frustrating when you find something nice and find out there's only a few chapters translated and noone is working on more while the japanese raws are like 50 chapters ahead.
>screenshotting/recording their library
That's some caveman shit
so who the fuck cares, I use mangasee
What year are those losers living in?
Just clarifying, that's legitimately the best solution. Mangarock has no way to export your library to a different platform.
So the library is just all the followed titles right? You can't be screenshotting all the chapters manually right?
And also you are saying people paid to get stuck in this walled garden? Enjoy your screnshotting then lmao.
I specifically liked their lazy loading and how it had a scrolling strip by default that had gaps between the pages. Also, they differentiated left-to-right from right-to-left by color which made easier for me to avoid webtoons.
People are screenshotting their library, yeah. Just the manga names.
Considering it's mainly an iOS userbase, it's fucking hilarious.
Why can't I search in mangadex? Is it their stupid thing where you have to have an account?
Surely those of the apple persuasion have the ability to take scrolling screenshots?
Unless the app makes it harder for them to do so that is.
Page content is drawn on a canvas which is why you can't download it the normal way.
I wrote a script a while back to rip pages that gets the canvas content, transforms it into an image and opens all the loaded images in a new tab.
let cans = document.querySelectorAll('canvas');
let win = window.open('about:blank', 'Image');
cans.forEach(c => { win.document.write('') });
This only works in vertical mode and with disabled pop-up blocking. Also all pages have to be loaded or they will be skipped.
Yes. You have to type "id:xxxxx" into the search bar for it to work, but obviously you need to visit the mangadex site first to check the id.
can't i just download licenced manga off AnimeBytes instead? I do this, and not licensed manga and fan translated ones on mangadex.
Open any title in mangadex or mangadex link with tachiyomi in web view, log in, save session for a year.
>Lost Stranger scan groups are pussies
>5 chapters behind
I need my isekai final fantasy fix fuck this shit.
All these manga i read up to date or completed on Mangadex. I download all the chapters then read it on my own image viewer always. That way is better for me and archival purposes.
Mangadex seems good or the best for manga since translators usually upload to mangadex first, but recently some translation groups didn't like what mangadex was doing and now pulled their uploaded manga and instead upload to their own website.
The problem with this is how are people supposed to know about their individual websites if its not on mangadex. Also I hate the mangaplus and mangadex collaboration, mangaplus you can't download any images from their website only through screenshotting .
And immediately get your thread deleted
>mrcomics.com
THEY ARE FINALLY SHUTTING DOWN
YES THOSE MANGA JEWS DESERVE TO GET FUCKED IN THE ASS WITH THEIR GAY PAY TO DOWNLOAD MORE FREE COMICS(that they ripped from other sites)
God fucking damn it i have over 300 manga in my favorites, how am I supposed to back this shit up
We are always telling you people to have a local backup.
