IPhones have the most reliable backup solution

>connect phone to computer
>iTunes creates a perfect image of the OS
>something happens to the phone
>buy a new one
>restore the backup
>it’s just like you left it last time
Why can’t android have the same feature? Hell at least LineageOS which is the same damn distribution across hundreds of devices. Why can’t anyone just implement a decent way to transition or keep your shit available?

>can’t refute
Seems like white people’s level of logic is not your forte, Rajeesh

>plug android phone into pc
>open file explorer
>copy entire storage of phone to pc
>can then copy entire contents back if phone gets wiped or you get a replacement
>everything is exactly the same

Thats exactly what i did with my last Samshit S7...

>upload photos to a walled garden cloud service
>unable to know if some nerds jack off to your photos given its closed source
>get your photos stolen by some russians/chinks when eventually they find an exploit
Yeah, no thanks.

How does it feel to actually have no arguments

>Install Google services
>Backup to Google account
>Setup new phone
>You get an option to restore

>iPhones change so little from year to year that you could literally cut and paste NAND flash chips and it would work the same

Half the apps don't download
The ones that do don't have app data restored so you have to go through all the setup again
Thinks like banking apps with secure credentials flat out have a spaz fit and need to have app data reset

Seriously, I hate iToddlers more than most, but my wife has an iPhone and the restore process is so much better than android. Her new phone is basically exactly how she left the old one once it is restored.

>thread is about a local offline copy of the OS
>rambles about muh cloud security
Ok grandpa, now can you actually stay on topic thanks

It does.
Titanium Backup, for one.
You can do full image backups with custom recovery, too.
But to answer your question it's basically because of fragmentation.
Different makers are doing different things, have different individualized software and paths. Making a backup for your device is simple enough, but making a backup you can move to another device is more difficult.
And then there's the problem of varying hardware, too.

Titanium backup. Keeps the normie scum like you away.

>normie

There's even wireless backup to your mac, aplel known have great ecosystem works out the box. What android have? desu i even use windows 10 with microsoft your phone companion (one drive, photos, etc)i move and backup everything to windows ecosystem now with an android phone.

>What android have?
More freedom.

Samsung Smart switch. Can back up to SD card and PC.

Why is it the only arguments street shitting iJeets have is making up lies to sell their low grade chinktrash fruit toys?

>Drop Oneplus One
>Entire screen is spider web'd doesn't respond to any inputs
>Plug into computer
>Drag and drop everything important
>Buy new phone a couple of days later
>Drag and drop everything back onto the device

It's really simple. Doesn't need any complicated programs, works on every computer. You just plug the phone in via USB, and copy off the files you want to save. Just like it's a flash drive.

>things android had for years before the street shitting Pajeets at Apploo copied it for ios

is that a picture of you?

>apps loses all their settings and data
Thank you come again!
- Apu from Oneplus

>uses 10% of what wifi/LTE uses
>1Gbps upload/download speeds ANYWHERE you go (even the remote wilderness)
>no nudes getting leaked or data to the feds on an hourly basis
>can be upgraded
let that sink in

>OS made explicitly to mine your every keystroke and sell your data to the highest bidder
>free

>the only way a poordroid has to “btfo” the apple iShitter is to bring up a feature exclusive to another brand that gets completely thrown out of the window if you decide to buy a non Samsung phone in the future
Good job retard

>free
I said "more freedom", not free.

/thread

What does that have to do with anything in this thread? Senile people really are something, ya know

You mean Apple, right? Siri is recording you 24/7 and the data is then packaged and sold to the highest bidder on the dark net.

They collect BSSIDs and GPS data for their network location service.
consumerist.com/2010/06/21/privacy-change-apple-knows-your-phone-is-and-is-telling-people/

They neglected fixing a security vulnerability for three years so law enforcement could use it as a backdoor. Who says they don't the same with iOS?
telegraph.co.uk/technology/apple/8912714/Apple-iTunes-flaw-allowed-government-spying-for-3-years.html

They also have a backdoor to remotely wipe phones.
telegraph.co.uk/technology/3358134/Apples-Jobs-confirms-iPhone-kill-switch.html

Apple proposed integrating the fingerprint scanner into the screen so you can't use the phone without giving away your fingerprint.
theguardian.com/technology/2017/feb/15/apple-removing-iphone-home-button-fingerprint-scanning-screen

Apple collects all your call history.
theintercept.com/2016/11/17/iphones-secretly-send-call-history-to-apple-security-firm-says/

We had the fappening happen because it uploads all your images to iCloud. It even sends the files to the cloud without asking for permission.
theguardian.com/technology/2014/nov/04/apple-data-privacy-icloud

Most iCloud data and some data from passcode-locked devices can be provided.

Backups, you can make 10 of them on that thing. Uses virtually 0 battery life and can be upgraded. Next year we get 2TB cards.

How much does Google pay you to derail threads?

Its not backup. Just an image of your device, You can't select which files you want to save into iCloud/iTunes.

Just use your computer retard.

The point of this thread is not the “ability” of making backups, but the quality of them

I don't rajeesh, ask your friendly apple positivity team leader.

Attached: 1536099217172.png (828x1418, 166K)

So you’re doing it for free? That’s so kind of you

See

>phone gets stolen
>backups get stolen with it, all unencrypted!

Doesn't Xiaomi and Samsung have local backup options? I know my Xiaomi does but I've never used it because the Google restore thing works fine for me, but it's there.

You should see the second line, 5th word of the OP and stop nitpicking vocabulary like a retard

Quality is pretty awful too i you can't manage which things you need from said image. Lame feature for a lame device.

Not him but how do you feel about multiple models of iPhones being -LITERAL- bombs? Why hasn't ATF taken apple down yet?

>how do you feel about xyz
Can a question format be more useless?

LG and Oneplus,
The official phone brands of retards who fall for Youtube paid Reviewers (marketers).

Having to re-download all of my Termux packages was indeed annoying, but when you think about it, there is nothing equivalent to Termux that I could acquire on iOS anyways.

>be apple
>sell explosives in shitty chinese metal packages
>make trillion dollar
>some manlet repair man on youtube exposes your products
>still make trillion dollar
>baldcel nerds like luke smith on youtube and cumpad using nerds spam anime girl laughing pictures to try to meme you out of business
>still make trillion dollar
>absolutely ignore what your best salesman wanted years after his death and keep making stupid decisions
>still make trillion dollar
I'm jelly desu.

Attached: jobspepe.png (1100x644, 89K)

same

Yeah just like Samsung.

Everything is containerized and compartmentalized. The system is stateless and only provides services to apps.
Thanks to Redhat and projects like systems, GNOME, and Flatpak, we're moving in that direction.

Attached: EDnrYJ7X4AEx2Tn.png (2048x970, 2.18M)

Samsung pretty much recalled all of their affected phones. Meanwhile Apple keeps selling and charges users for these ticking time bombs.
It's gotten so bad that now ALL Macbooks are banned from use in flights.

this, currently all of these are now officially bombs:
iPhone 5
iPhone 6
iPhone 7
iPhone 8
iPhone X
iPhone XS

Well what would you recommend for an easy to mod phone other than Oneplus?

Protip for Android users: go to dev settings and enable the "force GPU rendering". Congrats now you have iPhone level performance. Battery might be 10% lower tho.

wtf, why isn't this enabled by default? I feel punked and clowned.

Just tried it, it's slightly smoother, but it dramatically increased input lag, shit feels like rubber band scrolling.

Try disabling HW overlays and turning off window/transition animations. What phone do you have? Sounds like it has a bloated UI.

DON'T disable animator animations unless you're sure you want wonky loading animations (ie youtube with show a fucking pentagram without the lines.

KEK no thanks, you can keep your shitty 3rd party app.

>connect phone to computer
>iTunes creates a perfect image of the OS
I'd like to know what parallel universe are you from, because that's not how iTunes backups work at all

Stop lying

about what

Doesn't this contain system info and shit though? If you replace it on a new phone won't it cuck a lot of shit due to it not recognizing the phone?

>>iTunes creates a perfect image of the OS
>implying

It just records some basic shit, like what applications you have installed, images and settings. If you choose an encryption key, it also saves some health-related shit.

If you ever had to reset iOS, you'd know just how much is missing or no longer working.

Who the fuck cares about that, smartphones are at its worst moment right now with stuff that nobody asked for like screen notch, screen punch, folding screens. And who would have thought that the fucking chinese would come up with much better solutions like underscreen fingerprint reader and selfie camera, others have the flip camera like asus zenfone 6 or the little camera that pops up like the Xiaomi Mi9t and they are fucking midrange phones. Now we have to pay over thousand dollars for the premium ones and their battery are shit.

Sounds like fake news to me, incel. If siri was actually spying on you like that it would be all over the news

>all macbooks are banned from flights

All macbooks are banned from flights in some third world country where nobody can afford macbooks anyway, and theyre probably all seething windows cucks that ban the laptops to cope with the fact that theyll never get their poor hands on one

That's the REAL fake news, it isn't. Apple knows how to manipulate the media. Remember that recent little problem where all their macbooks keep violently detonating into fireballs of aluminium shrapnel and how you will now literally be arrested if you bring one on a plane now? Apple suppressed that too.

All memes aside people just don't want these things to go off like sticks of dynamite inside an airplane. BEST case scenario it just erupts into a plume of toxic lethal lithium smoke.
