Old gaming rig I bought second hand from a guy who was made redundant after the end of the West Australian mining boom back in 2014. Have since replaced the graphics card and have plans to replace the silly x79 quad core with an 8 core xeon like a E5-2687v2 or E5-1680v2. My work flow would benefit greatly from a few more cores, and its massively cheaper than full system upgrade.

install cygwin. when the install is done, place the following two files under your username / home folder within the cygwin directory:
1. github.com/bongochong/WinScreenyReborn/raw/master/screeny.sh
2. github.com/bongochong/WinScreenyReborn/raw/master/install.sh

then, open up cygwin terminal, and either execute ./install.sh or sh install.sh or if you don't want to install it, just run it with sh screeny.sh

alternatively, if your cygwin install included curl, you can always run the latest version with: curl -s -q raw.githubusercontent.com/bongochong/WinScreenyReborn/master/screeny.sh | bash.

Honestly, about the same. It's a 2013 but still on the original battery and it'll last a good 8-10 hours on either OS. I don't keep my keyboard backlight on, and I dim the screen down to the lowest I can comfortably use.

How much storage is there? For $180 that’s pretty good. First thing I’d do would be install more RAM, though, especially since you’re planning to use those Adobe apps.
