How fast is your internet?

On wifi right now, so it's not the fastest possible, but still pretty good.
16/2 for 10 burgers
I just wish the upload was a tad higher, it's suffocating.
whoa!
slow down there partner, don't want you going too fast
I pay for 250
400/20 line, left is normal, right is SQM using fq_codel
all the servers closest to me are offline or IPV6.
So guess this will have to do
a fast.com test for comparison, my latency spikes without SQM are pretty high
Around 15 bucks/month.
Phonefag on WiFi
100/10
90 dollars a month.
based kikecast with that speed disparity
inb4 phone poster
I'm paying for 1 Gbit/s btw. At this point I think the network card is limiting me.
why is it your up speed so shit?
opposite, download is down.
And because the closest server i'm connecting to is Nashville TN, over 600 miles away.
Mobile data
Too fast. too furious
wtf, why u all have better internetz than me???
first world country reporting in
I get 10Mbps up tho
I pay for 100
so do i
Pretty fast for 20€
I pay for 150
ah shit i meant the guy above you
>tfw I used to have 1 down / 0.5 up before I moved
bet that feels good
CenturyLink is now charging extra claiming that they upgraded the speed of my service.
Absolutely nothing has changed. This is still the fastest available in my area.
I don't mind the download speed much. But GODDAMN that fuckin upload speed.
Not bad for vpn.
Just upgraded today, paying for 150mbps down
CenturyLink. Named for the time it takes to download anything over their service.
I'm paying for 250. Some ISPs give you a bit extra so you can't really complain that you aren't getting the promised speeds. They still put the "up to" and * on their claimed speeds though, since if you live in bumfuck nowhere, you probably won't get a strong enough signal down the cable to get those speeds.
Ngl Comcast Gigabit is really nice.
show upload :^)
That is my main issue with it.
CHECH YOUR PRIVILEGES
RRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
honestly, most websites won't use more then 20mbit, and video is at most 80mbit, only thing that consistently uses more is steam downloading and that in mb downs at 27 (I get 200-220mbit on fast)
fast internet is nice, but fuck all uses it.
City neighboring me just got fiber and ISP just sent me a fiber compatible router.
Should have 1Gbit symmetric by end of the year. :)
Yeah i know, they offer 1gbps and 2gbps here.
The 2gbps is fiber, but costs $299/month
The 1gbps is as you know, 35-40mbps
Thankfully verizon is also available here, with 1gbps fiber and full 1gbps upload, $10/month less than comcast.
downloading 4k blurays is my primary use
AYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
aww it got slower when it was done
One day they will upgrade to fiber. 2030 maybe.
When it's greyed out like that it means you're using an inline script on that page to get bullshit results. It has to be solid black! Or it doesn't count kid
Rogers
$56 CAD.
When it's grey like that it is still running the test, fucking idiot
Gigabit ethernet at work
ah makes sense. I live in the middle of a major city so I guess that's one of the perks
On wifi - I have Charter Spectrum. Get the Wave 2 Router. Just ask them.
My fast.com using my phone through WiFi not particularly close to the router.
>105 freedoms for "gigabit" internet
rreeeeEEEEE
$95/month after taxes and fees, includes TV and Phone.
100 shekels a month
Okay, my laptop is retarded and somehow defaults to the 2.4 GHz band instead of 5 GHz when it reboots. Still, wtf. The router is literally right behind me. Maybe I should try an ethernet cable?
the only way to get gigabit speeds on wifi is to use a 3x3 or 4x4 wifi card which are expensive and usually only seen on high end workstations or macbook tier laptops.
And your router or access point must also be 3x3 or 4x4.
Most laptops, cell phones, tablets, even desktop wifi cards are 1x1 or 2x2 at most, which max out at 200-400mbps usually, though you can sometimes get higher with DFS channels and large channel width of 80mhz.
If you have gigabit, and want to get full speeds, use ethernet.
Thankfully the phone jack in this room is right below my desk. Looks like my new PC will be chained to the wall when the parts arrive. Not like it's going anywhere anyway.
third world country here
~33 US$/month
im not joking
>100kbps
>network operator still advanced enough to use IPv6
huh
>the phone jacks in my home are shitty ancient CAT3
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA FML
if you have coaxial wiring in the rooms you need it then you might be able to use MoCA
MoCA 1.1 hits ~175mbps
MoCA 2.0 hits ~500mbps
Bonded MoCA 2.0 hits ~1gbps
MoCA 2.5 hits ~2.5gbps
MoCA 2.5 is sorta weird though, Actiontec has a MoCA 2.5 adapter, but they haven't put it into production and apparently don't have any plans on doing so.
A small company called gocoax does make one however, and at a reasonable cost, but i'm not sure about it's performance.
The WF-803m's only downside is that it has a 1gbps ethernet interface, so it's 2.5gbps throughput overcoax is pretty much negated.
But at least you know it can handle 1gbps throughput without issue
Yeah, I just figured I can hook an ethernet cable into my router. I'm retarded.
well fucking duh
jesus, you might want to quit drinking, or stay in school or something.

Why do I have a gigabit plan (downloading at 105 mb/s right) but Fast and Speedtest shows me that I only have a 700mbits connection?
because your ISP is over subscribed on your local node, or they have poor peering bandwidth to fast.com and speedtest.net servers closest to you.
If your ISP is over subscribed for your local node, then no website you try will give you full speeds.
If your ISP is having peering bandwidth issues, then SOME services might use a different peering point, that ISN'T congested, and will see closer to full gigabit speeds.
tldr; it's hard to say exactly why, there are several possible reasons.
I see, thanks. As long as I'm getting what I am paying for it's all good, right?
as long as you're happy
Paying $30/ month for a gigabit connection. Yeah, I'm thinking I'm happy, user.
download 300.61 mbps
upload 11.84 mbps
Sanic'd
>have been on 5 down and less than 1 up for the last several years
>next week I'm gonna be on at least 67 down and 18 up
It's a weird feel, lads. I don't even know what I'll do with it. Even 5 is enough to stream HD video. Which I don't even do. Even though I've always had unlimited, I've always felt weird about 'wasting' data. I always watch on 480. Sometimes, when the audio is more important than picture (like I'm listening to the video but looking at something else, e.g. doing something in the kitchen) I even go down to 360 or lower.
At least my WhatsApp video calls to my nieces will be better, they'll be able to see me much more clearly.
You're dumb, lower video bitrate on most streaming services also gives you lower quality audio
pretty sure not youtube. not any more anyway.
Comfy symmetrical connection here
80CAD$/Month. Mostly use it to upload large quantify of hentai on the internet.
this poster here again
What do you guys do on your super fast connections? I really don't know what I'm gonna do going from 5 to 67 Mbps. I'm so used to life in the slow lane...
download things in highest quality possible.
Hard drive space is cheap anyways
120/10 for 100 bananas. Gonna ditch it, though, I don't use it that much anymore.
What the fuck is going on with my computer? Why so slow? Ryzen 1600 btw.
