I prefer 7z. I don't need to open up anything (pretty or not). I just right click on a file, click compress, choose 7z, and, if I want, enter in a password to encrypt.

You don't have to use it all the time. You can just rely on the context menu. In case you want to use it. The toolbar can be made smaller or hidden.

Bandizip is proven to be slower than 7-zip in the only fair comparison, decompression file 2. Bandizip took 117s, 7-zip took 70s.
The compression tests are not fair since the compression ratios and algorithms are totally different. For file #1, 7-zip on its default settings compresses significantly more than bandizip on max settings. No shit bandizip is faster, it does less work.
