I disagree that a background should be distinct, I should be able to visually parse the icons as separate from my phone's background in an instant. That would be my chief problem with your homescreen, the icons aren't too bad but my brain is still fighting between seeing the icons and seeing the Japanese characters. The clock widget suffers worse, and the small text with the battery percentage and day of the week is nearly illegible.

I'm considering cancelling my Spotify subscription and just using newpipe to listen to stuff I don't have saved through YouTube/SoundCloud.

Bruv, I counted. I got like 32 apps on my device. My homescreen has a 5x4 grid for apps alone, which is 20 apps. I don't need amy more than that.
If you know about some cool widgets, then I might feel the need. But the only one I've used for over a year is Transparent Clock & Weather.

I rotate to a few wallpapers, and I usually take that into account. But I wanted a change, and I CAN still read the widgets like that. I don't really care if you can.

Is your whole system themed in grey too? If not then there's huge jarring disconnect anytime you open an app. That's my problem with android ricing. Substratum themes are mostly shit and if the aesthetic isn't uniform throughout the OS, what's the point?

I think my weather widget is too noisy and the wallpaper could be better but other than that, it's good.

I use random wallpapers, because who gives a shit I don't have autism, and I also don't use icon packs because I DON'T HAVE AUTISM. My shit is "functional" and "clean" because it has the most functions with the least bullshit going on.
I don't live in a mansion. How many meters would I possibly have to traverse to accomplish that? Worst-case scenario?
