>he raytraces instead of retro scaling
YIKES
He raytraces instead of retro scaling
Looks like a decent upscale algorithm to me. Slightly rounds some corners to make it not look too retro while not butchering the pixel-perfect details.
What the fuck is retro scaling? Can't you just upscale with nearest neighbor?
Latest Nvidia driver for Turing support Integer Scaling.
that would be too easy, and it doesn't attract zoomers' attention as well as """retro scaling""" does
OP, can you retro scale my dick?
>effectively downscales the image
>Looks like a decent upscale algorithm
?
I hope this looks like ass because the retard who made this image saved it as jpeg and not because this is what the algorithm actually spits out.
It's not truly retro unless it also emulates a CRT.
Please post a losless .bmp or .png before I vomit blood.
Pretty sure that's not JPEG's fault
integer scaling is the only non-meme solution
Come on it looks like a showcase for lossy compression.
That looks like aids. Why does the original look so shit? it's just pixels
garbage. kys
Looks like paper mario art somehow.
Oh shit he found us out
rtx baybeeeee
...
Its the same as unfiltered upscaling...
yeah but it's turing exclusive
Epic.
emulated interlacing scanlines look nothing like real interlacing from an old school CRT and is way shittier than the real thing
Nearest neighbor has been around forever.
>he doesn't use hq3x
dilate
Nigga what's wrong with sharp pixels? Are you one of them zoomers that get a headache if they look at a pixelated image for a few seconds?
thank amd for forcing them to implement that old ass tech
I don't know but terraria is a fucking amazing game and all of you "go back to /v/" posters can go to hell.
rude
my crt tvs never had that shit
>what the fuck is non-integer nearest neighbor interpolation
>z-zoomers
Agreed.
One day I will play this
I honestly hope he releases everything into a zip file for redistribution
I want someone to go through and put together everything about this world and it's lore, I'm interested in it, I want to see a video series adaptation of it
I want to know about this autist's fantasy
CRT filters honestly can look okay but the scanlines are a fucking mistake 100% of the time.
CRT emulation can work at varying degrees depending on how the source material took advantage/adapted to the technology
It is better to rework assets to work well digitally, though.
>not using Blargg filters
Oh, it's nearest neighbor.
