Hi Guys, console gamer here

Hi Guys, console gamer here

I want to finally stop being a pleb and get into PC Gaming. I'm looking at building my own PC. Here's some Noob questions for you. Looking to spend about $1000 or more if needed

>Should I go Intel or AMD?

>Which graphics card should I go? I only want 30-40 Fps on casual games like COD, counterstrike and overwatch, doesn't need to be super high end 4k gaming. Will mostly be playing standard first person shooters and maybe some CIV 6

>should I buy second hand or all brand new parts?

Thanks you Jow Forums from the bottom of this filthy casuals heart.

AMD gpu (Probably the RX 580 or 590)
Intel cpu (newer i3 or i5 will work)
And no more than 16 gigs of ram.
And keep it new if you have the money.
The rig should only cost 500-700 and be able to do 1080p at 60-144+ (probably could do 4k 30 if you want to) depending on settings.

Don't forget to account for the cost of a good monitor, keyboard, and mouse when budgeting your pc.
Use pcpartpicker, it will help you out a ton.

What I just built for roughly 1k

Ryzen 5 3600K
MSI Tomahawk MB
16GB RAM DDR4 3000 or 3200
ASUS RTX 2060
Corsair CX650M PSU

then a case.

Definitely go with an AMD cpu

That sounds perfect!!

Yep I've got a good gaming keyboard and mouse, and I've got an alright monitor, but is it worth spending more on a crazy good 144hz monitor? Or is it just a meme?

Yeah nice, looks like AMD is the way to go!!

Look up nzxt's BLD website. It'll go through what you need to get to play your games at a specific fps and how much that will cost.

High hrz is awesome but it ruins anything lower than 60fps.
So keep the 60hz one now and if you stay a PC gamer THEN try it.

Not perfect but pretty good. It's what I've used for my last 2 builds.

Only Intel CPU will allow you to play games comfortably
Buy i7-9700K or i5-9600K
AMD just cheap and only used where every single $ matters and nothing else... like in your console.

...

/pcbg/ here, get a
>r5 2600 with stock cooler
>b450 tomahawk
>2x8gb 3200cl16
>sabrent rocket ssd
>rx 580 8gb
>seasonic 650w
>meshify c
and you are good to go

ignore this retard
you get a ryzen 5 3600 CPU
and a novidya geforce 1660ti
and TWO 8GB RAM sticks that do AT LEAST 3000 Mhz
then a 500GB NVMe SSD and you're set.
Jam a 500w EVGA certified PSU and throw it all inside whatever cheap case you like.
This is overkill for your needs, but getting a cheap GPU is speacially retarded these days. Bad pricing.
If you want to cheap out get a core i3 8100 and a rx570, it will still kick ass while saving a couple hundred bucks.

Don't buy intel, it's full of exploits.

Don't buy amd, they lie about the boost clock

Don't buy a PC, stick with consoles

Based shillposters

I got an used 1440p@144Hz monitor for 200€. Those things are meant to last for some time so used isn't that much of a risk (still be careful though).
It's pretty nice desu if you go with a build like the following you should be easily to do 1080p and even 1440p.
If I'm not mistaken the AMD Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT offer the best value right now but AMD drivers are sometimes a bit fucked

You need to update the BIOS for that motherboard while the "MAX" version comes with the latest BIOS out of the box, right?

>I want to finally stop being a pleb and get into PC Gaming
Don't. Once you grow up you'll regret it.

>want 30-40 Fps on casual games like COD, counterstrike and overwatch
you don't even need a dedicated GPU for that, just get a ryzen 5 2400G/3400G

ryzen 2 3600 or 3700(future proof..)
16gigs of ram
a 570 with 8gb of ram sapphire pulse or nitro
one small 60 gb ssd just for your OS and some programs
and a big 500gb-1tb ssd for the rest
a 550watt psu should be fine

don't, consoles are literally miles better than PC for games and they actually have some worth playing still.
