Eclipse is such a buggy piece of shit and it blows my mind that anyone even uses and/or recommends it.

If there are no server plugin constraints (websphere, jboss, weblogic, etc..), visual code
If there are and you also plan on interacting with mobile dev work in the same IDE, Intellij
For all other Java use cases, use Eclipse

Eclipse is buggy and slow. Netbeans is buggier and slower. IntelliJ is good but since I prefer to have multiple projects open in one window, I just stick with Eclipse.
