What PC config should I pick? they are both being picked the same.

I5-8400
GTX 1060 SSC
16GB RAM

Ryzen 5 3600
RX 480 8GB
16GB RAM

2nd one not close, how are you even asking this

>They are both being priced the same*

Thanks for the suggestion.

2nd one, i5s have a MASIVE frame stuttering problem. I used to get dips into the 30-40 range (average was 80+) when I had an i5-8400. I even locked the multiplier to 3.8 like so many community members suggested, didn't do shit.

Yes, I've heard of some performance issues with the i5-8400. Is the poor performance related to the spectre mitigation?

Can't say for sure, I just let windows update do its thing and I can't say the low FPS was always this bad or if it got worse. But now I'm on a 2700 locked to 4.1GHz, average FPS slightly went down but no more frame stuttering, I only see my FPS vary 10-20 at most now.

You should probably get that, if you have a microcenter near you look for the CPU + MB bundles. I got pic related for just $209. Everything works good so far.

Thank you very much for the advice.

if you can, a mix of the two
i5 8400
RX 480 8GB
16GB RAM

A thread had to die for your retarded question that could have been asked in here

The i5 one. Ryzen suffers from horrible microstutter, google it.

>The i5 one. Ryzen suffers from horrible microstutter, google it.

1/10 bait

>shit cpu with shit graphics
buy AMD cpu + nvidia GPU
or else BUST

>nvidia xx60 and below
>good

in fact I have a GTX1070, it does everything up to FHD and slightly higher (1920x1200) that I require it to do
yes the xx60 models and below are trash, but if OP has money problems I cannot help
fact is that graphics prices will be fucked for another 5 years because cryptocurrencies and nvidia market manipulation
what do you want me to do about it?

The 580 is a better card for 1080p than any xx60 nvidia card. They're also cheaper now. The cryptotard bubble has been popped for a while now.

Is the RX 480 used? If not, get an RX 570 and go with the second build.

>The cryptotard bubble has been popped for a while now.
I'm not feeling it. Prices are still unaturally high.

>The 580 is a better card for 1080p than any xx60 nvidia card.
not debating this, but it may draw more power
Whatever, I'm all pro pure AMD systems, but you'll see that NoVIDIA will still screw you over with gameworks, to make games run artificially bad on your AMD graphics.
Same with software binaries built using intel compilers for source code.
the blue and green scammers doesn't play fair

Not even sure anymore about those graphics cards, but you should definitely go with a Ryzen 3600 instead of an i5 8400.

Are you trolling. This is literally the worst he could buy.

i5s are not really worth having nowadays.
Either go with the r5 or i7 if you want Intel.

>RX 480 8GB
End of 2019 and still works like magic. But it's almost 2020 so would buy 1080ti
