>barebones interior
>endurable but lacks practicality, let alone convenience
>the room itself is far from being minimalist and nothing can be done about it
That's actually a pretty good representation of suckless software.

Dylan Price
that type of minimalism makes you look poor
Jacob Clark
You'd better be a minimalist after you spend all your money on +200% marked up hardware.
Wyatt Nelson
>want brother off my laptop/phone
>get computer out of attic
>make a thread on wsr asking what os to use
>get called a retard
>set it up anyways and it works

Listen man, Arch Linux and i3 (with polybar), qutebrowser, urxvt, vim as your editor (not ecuckedmacs), and write everything in LaTeX and compile it to PDFs, don't use prisonOffice

>can ignore bloat in your life but not on your computer
How much time do you spend on it?
Joseph Jenkins
Use any Linux distro. Avoid DEs such as GNOME and KDE, which are large and demanding, especialy GNOME. XFCE is pretty straightforward, especially if you're new to Linux.
Terminal browsers:
w3m (images flicker unless you disable antialiasing)
lynx (text only)
EWW in emacs (essentially lynx)
GUI browsers:
surf (requires compilation and enough C knowledge to paste extra features into the source code)
Falkon (easy mode)
Epiphany (less popular than Falkon)
Also, try GTK Youtube Viewer to avoid the javascript and assorted bullshit on the youtube webpage. I haven't visited youtube directly in months, but I've been watching youtube videos daily. You have very good search options and results with thumbnails, the ability to save and browse channels, etc. Videos are opened in mpv.

ubuntu uses proprietary drivers so if some shit in your computer only has proprietary drivers no wonder it's not gonna work with normal debian, try the non-free debian iso
